There are many reasons why we love former Bachelorette, Aussie sweetheart and 2DayFM radio personality Sam Frost. Remember when she spoke out about MAXIM Magazine retouching her images? She’s a pretty kick-ass gal, right? Well, today Sam has brought a new issue to light as she and partner, Sasha Mielczarek, have announced their ambassadorship with Priceline Pharmacy and the National Stroke Foundation. They’re coming together to encourage all Australians to stay on top of their health and get regular blood pressure checks at their nearest Priceline Pharmacy store.
I had a chat to Sam about the new partnership and found out her top health tips (as well as some cute confessions about her and Sash!).

Q: What have you learnt working on the new Priceline campaign that has shocked you?*
A: To be honest, nothing has shocked me. I have four brothers so I know that men are less likely to get regular health check ups and they just put them off because they think they’re invincible! I think it’s a great campaign because it encourages everyone to go and get checked regularly, even if they think they’re healthy and there’s nothing wrong. A lot of these horrible diseases don’t show symptoms straight away so it’s better to be safe than sorry – pop into your nearest Priceline Pharmacy and get a free health check.
Q: How do you and Sash stay fit?
A: We’re both relatively healthy people. He probably makes more of a conscious effort than I do and to be honest I probably need to ramp up my fitness a bit! We just always try to opt for healthier options when it comes to food. Having our dog Rocky is great because we walk him every day – so that encourages us to be active.
Q: How do you eat well on the go?
A: Eating healthy is definitely more difficult when you have a busy schedule. I try to make sure I always have healthy (and portable) snacks on me like a banana and some nuts. Meal planning and preparation are also really important.
Q: Who in your relationship is the bad influence with naughty treats?
A: Me. Definitely me. Although, Sash is crazy when it comes to ice-cream. If he has one [mouthful] he turns into a child and can’t stop!
Q: What’s your indulgence when it comes to food?
A: Chocolate. If anyone puts chocolate near me I pretty much drool from the mouth! I’m like a chocolate freak. This Easter my sister and I ate three packets of Tim Tams in one sitting. I was cursing myself the next week when I had breakouts!
Q: Do you have any date ideas for couples who want to stay healthy?
A: It’s definitely tough when you’re going out to restaurants a lot but I would say just try to avoid the heavier meals (like pastas) and find a healthier option. Although, having said that I do love a bit of spaghetti bolognese! It’s okay to indulge sometimes!
Q: What’s the best health advice you’ve ever received?
A: Even the tiniest bit of exercise is better than nothing. Just get moving! Get off the couch and make an effort to get some fresh air. You don’t have to do a big 90-minute workout. The smallest bit counts!
Q: What do you and Sash like to do in your spare time?
A: Honestly, it’s just nice to be together when we have time off. We like to go out for brekkie, take Rocky for walks, relax on the couch, watch movies and talk rubbish!
Q: What’s your number one beauty tip?
A: I know people say this all the time but honestly, it’s to drink lots of water. If you don’t, you end up looking and feeling dehydrated. I like to take care of my skin first and foremost by using face masks, serums [and] eye creams to keep my skin looking fresh, healthy and hydrated.
