Would you use a $100 toothpaste?
At beautyheaven we’re not averse to investing in the odd luxury skincare or make-up product, but when we came across a one-hundred-dollar toothpaste this week, we had to question if the beauty industry had gone too far.
A whitening crystal mint toothpaste, Theodent 300 contains a compound called Rennou™, which is extracted from cocoa and apparently, better than fluoride at repairing tooth enamel.
So why the massive price tag? Well, other Theodent products also contain Rennou™, but Theodent 300 is powered by an extra-strength dose, meaning, according to the website, “it’s activity can be felt after your very first brush”.
While we have to admit the product’s marble-white and guilded packaging is very appealing, we can’t imagine dropping a hundred dollars on toothpaste any time soon – even if it does contain chocolate-derived ingredients!
