Gradual Tan In Shower Reviews

I thought this product would be good as it doesn’t take up much time however the product does not work whatsoever . it has a strong smell also but after bearing with the smell and using it in the shower after waiting three minutes and rinsing NOTHING .. It did not work , I tried again and Waited five minutes and again NOTHING but it did leave the horrible smell . I don’t even know how this product got on the market !! very very disappointed doesn’t even deserve one star

I love St. Tropez but their Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion was a huge disappointment for me. The packaging is fine and it is easy to open the flip lid. The product it’s self is really moisturising and easy to apply but the fake tanning smell is really strong for very little colour pay off.
I washed before I applied and then rubbed it on. I wasn’t really sure how I was going to get the tan off my hands because if I turned the shower off it would all go down the drain! I decided to wiped them on a towel. I then had to wait 3 minutes for it to develop.
I have a two-minute timer toothbrush so I brushed my teeth and then stood there conditioning my hair. I love the whole concept and I don’t mind waiting so that didn’t bother me. What bothered me was that I didn’t get any colour pay off at all.
I repeated the process again for the next 3 days and I ended up with a light tan but it certainly isn’t St. Tropez finest work. Brilliant idea but the colour needs to be more intense.

I thought I had hit the jackpot when I saw this product on sale in Priceline recently. I took it home and have tried it a few times since and while I loved the scent and super hydrating qualities of this tanning cream, it did quite a bad job of tanning. It does mention on the packaging that is it gradual so I have tried it quite a few times to give it a proper go and a very minimal colour has developed... nowhere near as dark as I was hoping for.

I do think however that the concept of application (applying while still wet in the shower and washing off) is great as you don't get greasy skin and don't have to worry about accidentally splashing yourself after getting a spray tan. However, I did get a little cold while waiting for the 3 minutes until I could wash it off. I did find a solution to this by turning on my bathroom heater light which helped chase the goosebumps away.

Overall I probably wouldn't recommend this product if you are looking for a deep dark tan but I would try this type of product maybe by a different brand.

St Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion

This didn't have as strong a scent as other tanning products and the colour was nice, however it was a *really* gradual build up, much slower than gradual tanning moisturisers. I have light skin and just wanted a hint of colour and needed 3 applications before I could see that. Plus I found waiting around for 3 minutes with the water off during my shower a pain. I wouldn't recommend this.

I'm surprised this product hasn't got a better overall review score! I have tried numerous tanners over the years and despite having an olive complexion, every product I tried developed that horrid orange tone. However this tanner is very natural looking and as a bonus much less smelly compared to other tanning lotions. It's easy, quick and mess free to apply. It does seem to take a few more applications if you want a darker tone however even with a few applications it still does not throw any orange tinge on my skin.

I love that this gave my skin no fake tan stench whatsoever. I loved that it smells so gorgeous as I apply it all over my body - it smells like a really delicious sandalwood scent - so good!! For that I'd give it five stars.

I also loved that it was extremely fast working - only three minutes and I could shower it off. It was a hydrating quality formula. My skin looked and felt moisturised and had a light perfectly non-streaky smooth looking light tan glow-look after using this.

The thing that wasn't my favourite part was having to wait for three minutes in my cool ensuite to wait for it to do it's magic before I could wash it off. I know three minutes doesn't sound like a long time but my bathroom is still a bit cold at the moment because it's barely out of winter. Nevertheless, this will be an awesome product in summer when the temperature is naturally warmer.

I have the 'Golden Glow Medium' shade and it's probably just a little too light for my naturally golden medium skin tones - I think I need a darker shade of this to make a bigger, more noticeable difference, but, it does say 'gradual' on the tube so with repeated use this adds more and more 'tan' colour. Personally I would prefer just a straight out darker shade just to begin with.

I would definitely buy this in the darker shade in the future. It's a really good idea and I love how fast it works.

This product did absolutely nothing for me, except leave me with a rash. I don't have sensitive skin and have never reacted to products before but this left my legs so itchy.
I used this product as directed for over a month with absolutely no change of colour on my lily white legs. I was expected at least one shade darker considering how much the bottle cost. Won't be buying again and have unfortunately lost confidence in the St Tropez brand.

I really hate applying fake tan. But I am also sick of being pale and I don't want to tan in the sun. When I heard about this amazing, fast, in-shower, streak-free tan I was super excited. It seemed like my prayers had been answered. Unfortunately, I don't feel this product lived up to the hype.

I used it for a couple of weeks, every evening, applying it to face and body. My skin only got one or two shades darker which wasn't noticeable on my body but did give my face a nice healthy glow. I looked healthier and less pale. So I was happy with that!

It did leave streaks on my legs but I think that was because I accidentally got water on my legs whilst rinsing my hands clean. It's a bit awkward applying the tan whilst still wet. The waiting for 3 minutes was a tad annoying as well. 3 minutes is actually a long time when you are cold and uncomfortable.

The smell is ok but it does turn into the regular fake tan smell as the tan develops.

Overall, I wasn't amazed by this but I did enjoy the slight glow it gave me.

I received a deluxe sample of this and was excited as it was something I was interested in trying.

The good:
Easy to apply
Streak free
Skin felt very soft and moisturised

The bad:
Tan is very very gradual!
Waiting in the shower out of the water for 3 minutes is a pain in the butt.
Expensive for daily use

The ugly:
The sweet almond smell is sooooo strong, it was a real turn off for me.

The bottom line:
I like the idea of this product but not sure that the concept really works. It could be used if you are already tanned and just want a little top up to help keep your colour. I won't be repurchasing.
