8 innovative at-home beauty products

There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to in-salon beauty treatments (a girl deserves to be pampered, right?) – but if we made appointments for every single one of our beauty needs, that bill would certainly build up. Thankfully, there are some awesome (and super effective) products out there to help you reach your beauty goals from the comfort of your own home.

Whether you’re after fake tan, a gel manicure or teeth whitening, here are eight of our favourite innovative at-home beauty products!

Oral-B 3D White Advanced Seal Whitestrips

For just one hour a day, you can remove up to 10 years of stains on your teeth with these whitening strips. One pack is $35 and you get enough strips for two weeks of treatment (and you’ll start seeing results after just one). SOLD!

Vanessa Megan Mint and Citrus Room Spray

You don’t need to go to a salon to experience that luxe, fresh and welcoming smell. Just spritz this Mint and Citrus Room Spray around your home and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a spa (for much less than a typical consultation fee!).

RACINNE Lady S Home Spa Device

Fine lines and wrinkles can be a frustrating part of ageing and are hard to prevent and control. If you’re after something less intense and invasive than injectables, this at-home device is your Holy Grail. It is a tiny, portable little machine that uses red light therapy to improve the skin’s collagen levels and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Cool, huh?

Paula’s Choice Sun 365 Self-Tanning Foam

I’m all for an in-salon spray tan but at around $40 a pop, it can be an expensive escapade. Thankfully, there are loads of at-home tanners that give fab results, like this one from Paula’s Choice. It’s $21 and I reckon you get at least five tans out of it – bargain!

Sally Hansen Salon GelPolish Starter Kit

There’s nothing quite like a fresh mani, but it can be hard to find the time (and funds!) to get them often. If you’ve got a steady hand and like to change up your polish regularly, this Sally Hansen Salon GelPolish Starter Kit is all you need to nail (pun intended) your DIY manis.

Veet Spawax

This at-home waxing kit is so convenient for when you can’t make it to the salon, offering strip-less waxing at the optimum temperature for your skin. bh Gold member Sue says, “I am really happy with the results I have achieved with this Spawax kit while being at home and without overspending at [a] salon!”

Philips Lumea IPL Hair Removal System

This at-home system is on the more expensive side of the spectrum, however when you consider how much money you could save on hair removal all over your body, it turns out to be a pretty worthwhile investment. Check out what bh’s Sam thought of it here

Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara with Lash-Tint Complex

We were pretty excited here at bh HQ when this newbie landed on our desks and it’s not hard to see why! This is no ordinary mascara – it also gradually darkens your lashes from root to tip in as little as two weeks. Yep, it’s an instant mascara and gradual lash tint. And for just $18.95 it’s a whole lot cheaper than hitting the salon on the reg.
