Quick ways to de-stress
There must be some hormone that’s released every December 27 that allows us to forget about all the stress and drama associated with Christmas. I mean, why else would we sign up for crazy-busy shopping centres, big family dinners, and multiple Christmas celebrations every single year?
And because we don’t want you focusing on the stressful aspects of Christmas – we want your festive season to be all about the joy that comes from spending time with loved ones, wonderful pressies, and getting into the Christmas spirit – we’ve got three quick and easy things you can do to de-stress when things are getting a bit much.
Brew yourself a cuppa
Tea solves almost everything. Fact. But instead of making yourself your regular English breakfast and Earl Grey, brew yourself a cup of AVEDA 100% Certified Organic Comforting Tea (available in leaves or in bags). The calming concoction of peppermint, licorice root and other pure flower essences helps promote a sense of calm and well-being. Stress and fatigue don’t stand a chance.
Hop in the shower
It’s amazing what a steaming hot shower coupled with a fragrant and calming body wash can do for your peace of mind. Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash contains shea butter and vanilla to leave you surrounded by a beautiful, luxurious scent as you shower. You will feel all your worries and stresses almost literally slip away and go down the drain. For extra relaxation, why not put on some music, too?
Massage the tension away
Massage can help ease your body and your mind. Lush Whoosh Temple balm is a refreshing balm made from lime, lemon, grapefruit, rosemary, and geranium to help balance your mind and reduce stress. Just rub a small amount on the temples, wrists, and other pulse points and you’re one step closer to serenity.
As for your body, try The Body Shop Muscle Roller (you may need a second pair of hands to help you with this one). The ridged muscle massager can be used to ease any knots or areas of tension in your body. You’ll feel all gooey and relaxed in no time at all.
