5 things to do in a five-minute shower

Long gone are the days when we’d indulge in 15-20 minute showers each morning. These days, people know better than to waste water on decadent, unnecessary rinses – and even if we didn’t – who has the time?
So if you want to make the most of your five minutes under the water in the morning, make sure you tick these beautifying tasks off your checklist…
#1: pop on a face mask
Being in a hot, steamy shower means that your skin is poised for some serious pampering. Apply a nourishing face mask that will work to cleanse deep down into your pores, which have been opened by the hot steam. We love Clean & Clear® Deep Action In-Shower Facial, as it uses a purifying formula of fruit acids to deeply detoxify and exfoliate your skin, leaving it fresh, revitalised and completely clean.
#2: apply a hair treatment
Just like with a face mask, hair treatments work better when there’s heat and steam in the air. It means your hair masque can really penetrate the hair follicle and reach deeper when performing its repairing work. We love Kérastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Masque as it promotes health and luminosity in your hair. Better still; this pampering masque is enriched with dry oil and ceramide to repair your strands and protect against damaging aggressors throughout the day.
#3: do away with fuzzy limbs
The shower is the perfect place to rid your body of any ‘fuzzy’ bits. Simply choose a method of hair removal that’s fast and effective (and waterproof!). Remington Smooth & Silky Cordless Wet/Dry Epilator EP7030AU is perfect for an in-shower job as it features a light, as well as a lithium-powered waterproof battery to ensure precision hair removal on any part of your body. The best bit is, the heat from the shower will aid in numbing your skin just a little, so that the sting of tweezing hairs won’t be felt quite so easily.
#4: get uplifted
Use your morning shower to wake you up and get you in the right frame of mind at the beginning of the day. Using a refreshing wash will help to give you energy and provide you with the pep you need in your step to start the day off right. We love Palmolive Ayurituel Energy Body Wash because it’s infused with a spicy ginger and sandalwood fragrance that invigorates your senses. Though strong on the nose, this nourishing body wash uses a combination of mild cleansers to leave your skin squeaky clean and revitalised.
#5: moisturise your body
That sounds weird, doesn’t it? But you actually can ensure this often-tiresome task is taken care of while you’re in the shower – seriously! NIVEA In-Shower Rich Body Lotion allows you to moisturise your entire body while you’re in the shower. Simply step out from under the water, apply the moisturiser to your body and allow it to a moment to sink in before rinsing. Your skin will feel softer and silkier for it – promise!
Which beautyifying task do you like to tend to in the shower? Which one would you like to take up?

I should use more facial masks. My skin feels wonderful afterwards and it's a great way to pamper myself after a long day. I have the Nivea in-shower body lotion and it's wonderful :)

I use a mud mask in the shower every time I have to wash my hair - I leave it on while my conditioner is in. If I didn't do that, I don't think I'd get around to using a mask very often. I have to say, having taken this up for the last couple of weeks, my skin is looking much better. Why didn't I think of it sooner!?

I remove my face mask in the shower but I don't do the face mask in the shower because the face mask I use wouldn't dry in the shower.

I found that while the in shower moisturiser worked, it was not a time saver. I wax, so no de fuzz but I do exfoliate my body while my hair conditioner soaks in. I do use face and hair masks in the bath, which is a variation on a theme.
