Time for some R&R?

Feeling a little stressed out? If, like me, you can easily lose six hours hunched over your trusty laptop you are probably long overdue for a pampering massage.
While we live and breathe the online world – sadly our shoulders, neck and back don’t share the same addiction and can in fact suffer from lengthy periods spent staring at a computer screen. To compensate, make a date to give your body and mind some well deserved R&R. My suggestion and absolute favourite pampering destination is endota spa.
Recently I got the chance to practice what I preach and paid a visit to my local endota spa. Immediately after arriving at the spa I feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle”¨of the real world: in my imaginary place I dream I’m at a spa in Thailand or Hawaii – why not?
After much deliberation over endota’s luxurious spa treatment menu, I decide on Mind as this treatment incorporates a variety of endota’s gorgeous organic products: olive + macadamia massage oil, native mint + desert lime foot cream, lavender + alpine pepper hand cream – and combines these products with massage with body brushing, which is great for stimulating your mind and ridding your body of toxins.
Lisa, my lovely therapist, makes me feel very welcome and relaxed as she begins the treatment by soaking my feet in a lovely warm billabong footbath. As my feet are gently washed and scrubbed I’m thinking ‘I really should do this more often!’
Next step is the massage, which begins with body brushing. Lisa uses an endota’s body mitt on both hands and firmly strokes my back. Already it feels like the circulation is stimulated in my body and while I feel very relaxed, it’s also invigorating! Straight after the body brushing she applies the beautiful olive and macadamia massage oil and begins massaging my back. The same technique is then applied to my legs and arms and the massage ends with a”¨fabulous scalp massage. Where did that last hour go?
The combination of body brushing and massage is something I recommend everybody try – especially if you have lost six hours in front of your computer or have had a stressful week at work!
Endota has over 65 spas Australian wide and offers a comprehensive list of treatments. If you sign up to their website they offer monthly specials for their members, which are usually too good to refuse.
When was the last time you treated yourself to a pampering massage?

I had a massage approx 6 months ago as a part of a facial - it was so lovely at the time, but I was so sore and stiff and headachy for several days afterwards, that it has scared me off going again.

Both my dad and sis are massage therapists..... and i HATE massages. Everyone always comments on how awesome it would be to be able to get a massage whenever i want. Little do they realise how little i like them. Really wish i could enjoy them, maybe one day :P

Can't remember my last massage, so I'd say I'm well overdue. I usually give my Mum a voucher for her birthday or Mother's Day, but hey, what about me! Thanks for the reminder of how important (and enjoyable) it is :-)

My last pampering massage would have to have been about 8 years ago when I was given it as a gift. It is unfortunately out of my price range. Gee it sounded so relaxing and dreamy too.

The last time I had a massage was an amazing remedial massage my mum bought me for my birthday last year. But the last pampering massage was a scalp massage and aromatherapy scalp treatment at Hayman Island which was to die for! It was meant to be an add on but I couldnt afford to get anything else so they did that for me by itself for 30 mins :) Was amazing and the people were so lovely! My dream would be to be able to afford an hour relaxation massage, scalp massage and mani pedi. I wish!!

I just had a spa trip about 3 weeks ago, that was awesome...I think it's pretty good to get massages fairly regularly, it really does help a great deal.
I tried Endota once and I liked it but I'm sure there are equally great places out there with slightly better prices. :)
