5 wacky weight loss tricks

Everyone has done something slightly crazy to lose weight at some point during their life. Everyone. And although it’s highly likely those peculiar fat-busting tricks may not have made any difference to the number on the scale, sometimes you’ve just got to test them out, right?
Below you’ll find five of our favourite wacky weight loss tricks. Yet despite their quirks, they actually work. So, if you’re bored with your current conventional weight loss plan (read: healthy diet and plenty of exercise), you’ll find these ideas wonderfully exciting…
Wacky weight loss trick #1: always eat in front of a mirror
Yep, if step away from your usual position on the couch and sit down in front of a mirror, you’re likely to ditch the kilos quickly. Why? Watching yourself eat not only makes you more aware of how much food you’re shovelling into your mouth, but also visually reminds you of your current weight and your weight loss goals. You’ll then consume less food as a result, which will also cause you to drop the kilos.
Wacky weight loss trick #2: kit out your kitchen in blue
Oh, and your dining room, too. Unlike the colour red and yellow, which arouse hunger pangs and cause us to overeat, the colour blue is not only seen as calming, it’s also believed to be an appetite suppressant. So, stock up on blue-toned crockery, table cloths, placemats, cups and even paint your walls blue to prevent mindless snacking and overeating.
Wacky weight loss trick #3: sniff your food
Smelling your food is a fantastic weight loss tool because it tricks your brain into thinking it’s actually eating what it’s whiffing. Yep, studies have shown sniffing the aromas of items like bananas, apples, vanilla pods and peppermint have helped people lose weight, and the more you sniff, the more weight you’re likely to lose.
Wacky weight loss trick #4: tie a ribbon around your waist
Or, alternatively, wear tight, fitted clothing. French women are known for fastening a ribbon around their waists while they eat so they remain conscious of their stomach and how it expands, essentially preventing overeating. On the other hand, wearing loose-fitting clothing like pyjamas leads to eating larger amounts because you feel slimmer and less concerned about your body while wearing them.
Wacky weight loss trick #5: create a photographic food diary
I’m not one to encourage more people to take photographs of everything they eat, but when it comes to weight loss, a picture journal is much more effective than a traditional written one. Keeping photos of all your meals visually reminds you of the naughty food you’ve consumed, and triggering memories of how you felt after eating it. Looking at unhealthy meals you’ve eaten in the past will make you rethink ordering something similar again, and prompt you to try something healthy instead.
Are you always on the hunt for new weight loss ideas? Have you heard of these quirky fat-minimising tricks? Will you be putting any of these wacky ideas into action?

Sense of smell is related to taste, so sniffing makes sense. So does keeping a food diary - I've done this before.

This sounds great, I'm a little bit fat, but I don't like sports at all, because no one has gone to the gym with me, so I haven't been able to lose weight successfully. This project sounds very good, and I have recently been paying attention to some other information about Articles and methods to lose weight. I saw in this blog thatfat freezing can be used to lose weight. It sounds amazing, so I share it with friends who need it.
