PSA: I've finally found the best and comfiest pair of exercise tights

Can I just start by saying I totally missed the 'I love activewear' boat?
I'm the one sweating profusely in the back of the gym class wearing an old t-shirt won at a dirty bar in Cambodia.
Because while I think luxe athleisure brands look damn good, if I'm just going to drip my own body fluid all over it, I don't see the point of spending big. As long as the bra is sturdy and all flubbery bits are contained, I'm generally content.

The only piece of activewear I do tend to invest in, is tights. This is because a good pair generally lasts me upwards of two years. Plus, tights are (meant to be) comfortable, so I not only wear them to the gym, but also for walks and when I'm so hungover only an elastic waistband will do.
Until recently I was mainly alternating between a pair of Lorna Jane and Lululemon tights. Both were good and had lasted me a long time, but both also had their bug bears.
If I wore the Lorna Jane's too long, the seam would begin to rub and dig into my inner thigh (because my thighs do touch) and the waistband on the Lululemon's would never stay up to contain my belly bulge (note: this could also be my fault from the design I chose).
And then... I found them. A pair of tights that slid over my thighs like butter and hugged my body in all the right places, minus any tension whatsoever: Nimble Activewear's MoveLite Laser Focus Tights - 7/8 Leggings ($109, nimbleactivewear.com).
I was incredibly shocked at how easily they pulled on, having had my fair share of tugging wars with previous pairs. They were so stretchy I was sure my underwear would be shown through at every bend.
Nope.
Since that fateful day I have attended Barry's Bootcamp classes, Orange Theory and been on multiple hour-long hikes, without a stitch of rubbing, tightness, see-through-ness or wear. The brand describe these tights as 'a second skin' and that's honestly what they feel like.
The high waist band tucks my tummy in so well I feel (and probably look) a size smaller than I am, but once I take them off I'm not left with any elastic marks and indents. They are genuinely so soft and somehow manage to make all my rolly bits smoother.
A picture of me frothin' over said tights.
I know this sounds like a ranting rave (it is), but I'm just so happy with them I had to let people know. Plus (one last thing I promise), after looking into why they feel so damn good, I found out they're only made from freakin' RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES. What the what.
It's actually quite incredible, and if you're into sustainability, you can read about the brands efforts and how they do it here.
Oh and they're Australian. Ok I promise I'm done now, byeeeee.

I wear Aldi sports leggings which are good enough for me, I mean, all I am going to do is sweat in them and constantly put them in the wash. Each one I have bought it slightly different so it is a bit hit and miss regarding the quality of them. I only wished that they sometimes stocked the full length tights not just the 7/8 and 3/4 lengths.

you should try LEELO ACTIVE... honestly the comfiest tights I have ever owned. I have so many pairs I just rotate through now! even better, they're a start up label so supporting the little guys!
softest fabric, great customer service, high waisted and they don't slip down when your working out.
They always run sales too so they are usually around $60AUD per pair of leggings which is super affordable.
highly recommend.

Those look amazing! I wonder how they fare over a year though. The best pair of leggings I've ever had were from Kmart! Still going strong and has outlasted all the Nike/Under Armour ones I've had.

Love the sustainability aspect. Still a bit pricey for me. They would be some of the more expensive clothes I own!

Passed this article on to my daughter. She was always Lorna Jane and now Lululemon - the latter being her preference as she claims the derrière area doesn’t wear thin - not a fan of looking at the person in front doing squats!
Knowing Nimble are made from recycled bottles will definitely appeal to her sustainability nerve!

I must say, Lorna Jane's clothes are pricey. However, there are some that just last so long. I took the plunge and purchased a pair of tights and still have them 3 years later!
