Shoes to help you lose weight

If the shoe fits…you’re more likely to lose weight. Well, that’s definitely the case in my experience. But before you rush off to buy that extra pair of heels whose purchase you’ve been desperately trying to justify, I’m talking running shoes here, beauties. RUNNING SHOES. You see, the better the fit of your running shoe, the less excuses you’ll have not to exercise (I’m guessing I’m not the only one who’s avoided/given up on exercise due to blisters, sore feet and ankles, or shin splints, right?) And the more comfortable you feel while exercising, the happier you’ll be, so the more likely you’ll be to exercise consistently and for longer periods. Hence my original statement about the right running shoe helping you to lose weight!
Likewise, ensuring that you’re exercising in the right shoe for you can also help to prevent injury. "The primary goal of any running shoe is to protect the foot from trauma and load, minimise the risk of injury through efficiency, and allow the foot to function in a correct way,” advises Russel Rubin, Podiatrist at Sydney’s Foot Injury Clinic. "Each foot is unique, and therefore care needs to be taken when deciding on the correct level of support and cushioning "
Which is exactly where the experts at The Athlete’s Foot come into the picture. Not only will they measure both your feet and ask you a range of questions to determine what shoe best suits the exercise you’re doing, but you’ll also have a special Fitprint® analysis, which uses advanced technology to discover the pressure points particular to your feet. Finding the right fit for you will be a cinch after that!
The hard part will come when you have to choose your style and colours, because running shoes are anything but plain and boring these days. In fact, they’re getting so fashion-forward in their design that a lot of people are now sporting their…erm…sports gear as part of their everyday outfits!
Above are a couple of pairs of Saucony running shoes that we particularly love. Hover your mouse over the stars to find out more about them. And here is what they look like in real life, being modelled by bh's lovely Cherie...
Which shoe do you prefer the look of? The Hurricane (silver and blue) or the Kinvara (bright pink and yellow)? Do find it hard or easy to stay motivated to exercise regularly?

I must be boring but I like plain colours and preferably darker ones, they just seem more practical as they match more things and don't get as dirty.

I love sneakers!!! Really keen to get into bare foot running, especially the shoes with the toes! They look awful but are apparently amazing

I prefer the look of the Hurricane (silver and blue). Getting and staying motivated to exercise can be hard. I tell myself I need to do it for me and if I want to see results.

I love my brooks but I've heard you need to get new runners every 12 to 18 months. So getting a good fit is important. Your old shoes can be donated to charity or recycled into flooring or insulation which is really cool

I've always stuck to Asics ever since i've joined the gym 5 years ago. I stick to Asics cross trainers due to doing floor based fitness classes and running shoes don't cut it.
I'm not a runner but do love the bright colours shown on this post.

Loving the Kinvara - there's nothing like watching a bright blur in spin class.

The Kinvara looks amazing but I would probably be more likely to wear the Hurricane!

I prefer the hurricane and I find it exceedingly difficult to keep the motivation for exercise.

Since silver and blue are one of my fav colours, I would wear these shoes everywhere. I wish I could do more walking as exercise but a bung knee doesn't help. When able to exercise though a good sandshoe is needed and these would be perfect.
