Madonna’s Tour Makeup Look Is Already Iconic

After Madonna took time to recover from a recent health scare, her highly anticipated ‘Celebration Tour’ kicked off on October 14 to rave fan reviews.

Marking her 12th-ever tour, the Queen of Pop is taking a trip down memory lane, ‘celebrating’ four decades of chart-topping music.

Ever the Material Girl, a Madonna performance wouldn’t be complete without some showstopping fashion and beauty moments. Her Celebration Tour is no different, where she served beauty looks synonymous with her boldness and creativity.

To commemorate her beauty prowess, the glamazon has even gone so far as to release tour-inspired products.

In collaboration with her friend and Too Faced founder, Jerrod Blandino, she’s released three products. The trio consists of a ‘Who’s That Girl Tour ‘-inspired gel-powder highlighter, a ‘Virgin Tour’-inspired lipgloss, and ‘Blond Ambition Tour ‘-inspired red lipstick. A compact mirror, also inspired by the Blond Ambition Tour, rounds out the whole collection.

From pin-straight, pink extensions to Old Hollywood-style pin curls, Madonna’s mid-show hair changes were complemented with a strong, feline-like makeup look.

The look in question? A bold winged liner paired with fluttery lashes, bright pink blush and a nude lip. While the details of her makeup routine are elusive, we’ve done some super sleuthing to uncover some of the exact products she uses to get her through action-packed shows.

Madonna’s tour beauty essentials

Madonna takes great pride in her skin; so much so that she launched her own skin care brand MDNA Skin in 2014.

With the brand still going strong, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the star uses her own products. The Reinvention Cream ($118 at MDNA Skin) is one of her favourites for tour-ready hydration.

Her makeup artist Aaron Smith Henrikson tops this off with a custom foundation cocktail. He cites the Cle de Peau Radiant Cream Foundation ($171.07 at Cult Beauty) as one of his staples.

To enhance her on-stage appearance, Madonna often sports contoured cheeks and a sculpted face during her tours.

Henrikson likes to use the Cozzette Beauty Infinite Blush Palette ($66 at Beaudazzled) to create custom shades for her skin.

As for her lips, Madonna has a few lipsticks on rotation. Despite being a known user of M.A.C’s Matte Lipstick in ‘Russian Red’ ($37 at M.A.C Cosmetics), she’s changed things up for tour.

While we have yet to uncover the exact nude shade she uses, we’re placing our bets on the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick in ‘Sell Out’ ($42 at MECCA). She featured the lipstick in a 2019 collab collection with the brand.

What we do know, however, is that the singer is a fan of none other than the Aussie icon Lucas’ Papaw Lip Balm ($6 from Woolworths).

“I love [Lucas’] Papaw cream – it comes in a red tube. I use it on my lips. It’s the best,” she told E News.

With the Celebration Tour only just starting, we can’t wait to see what other looks Madonna pulls out.
