10 reasons to stress less

The next time you feel yourself getting into a flurry, stop and think about how it might be affecting you…
1.) You’ll inadvertently furrow your brows, which, if done on a regular basis, will speed up the formation of deep-set wrinkles across your forehead and between your eyes. Do you really want to look older than you are?
2.) High anxiety triggers a chemical reaction within your body, causing your skin to become red and inflamed, and sometimes even sensitized (meaning the products you’ve used and loved for so many years may suddenly start to irritate your complexion).
3.) Those pesky little things we call breakouts love all things stress-related and will jump at the chance to add to your list of woes.
4.) Your digestive system won’t work to its maximum, causing essential nutrients to pass straight through your body without being absorbed, and nasty toxins to hang around.
5.) When you’re highly strung you’re more likely to revert to bad beauty habits, like biting your nails, chewing your cuticles, or splitting your strands – none of which are ever a good look.
6.) Stress equals sleepless nights, which equals puffy peepers, dark circles and eyes with no sparkle.
7.) Your friends and family will suddenly desperately need to wash their hair/the car/the dog rather than make an arrangement with you – no one wants to hang out with a stress pot!
8.) Your poor muscles will become all tied up in knots, causing headaches, joint pain and overall bad posture.
9.) Try focusing on getting a task completed when you’re super stressed – bet you’ll have a lot of trouble getting anything done! You’re more productive when you’re calm and collected, so take a deep breath and things will seem clearer.
10.) Life is hard, but there are also loads of fun parts too - if you’re constantly stressed or in a bad mood they’ll just pass you by and you may miss loads of exciting opportunities.
What's your biggest cause of stress? How do you try to alleviate it?

Work is stressful - especially when having to deal with demanding idiots/assholes with super high expectations that are way too difficult to meet; combined with the high volume of such. (Despite undertaking 11 years of uni to do such). And yet people who know me see me as a positive, successful person.

Work is the biggest stress and pressure for me. With so many projects and assignments due at the same time with tonnes of responsbility it can sometimes just get all too much. I know have chai tea and chocolate powders to make soothing drinks during the day to make me relax a little. I adore my job and enjoy the challenges but I can be doing 5 tasks at once and feel the weight of everything on me. I can't just leave at 5:00 when there is so much still to do.

My biggest cause of stress would definitely revolve around work and me always being late to things makes me feel stressed as well. Other ones would include not including finding time to relax and have me time. As well as the stress of waiting for my apartment to finish being built when it has already been delayed several times since April this year. To deal with with my stress once Friday comes around and the weekend begins, I complete put work out of mind. I enjoy walking and running, when it isn't freezing cold. Getting cozy in bed at home and just having a quiet night in is really relaxing as well.

Great reminder of the awful things stress can do to you. When I am stressed I suffer from muscles tightening up and then I get painful spots in my neck, shoulders and back. I head down to one of the Chinese massage centres near home and have a quick head and shoulder massage when I feel the pain is starting. That helps a great deal. But I also think that meditation is important and thinking positive thoughts. For instance, a useful tip for me is to write down the worst thing that can happen as a result of the issue that is worrying me. That puts things in perspective. The thing that stresses me most is money and I find it useful to do something physical to ease the stress, such as walking. I tend to find solutions to problems while I walk and, if not, it certainly clears my head. I think it is hard to avoid stress in today's volatile world.

I'm a wedding co-ordinator... need i say more! lol. Nah it's not as bad as it seems. I always try and take time to stop and breathe - being in such a fast paced career - around stressed brides constantly - it's important i stay cool calm and collected at all times. Nothing like a few second break and a coffee to clear the head!

I procrastinate a lot and so dig myself a stress-filled hole when I find myself behind on everything, deadlines past due, bills have accumulated, etc. I also find making a lists helps in making me feel in control and organized: i make one at the beginning of the week for shopping, tasks, errands etc. It's a great feeling when you have "proof" that you are getting things done. Stress is a killer !

At the moment, my biggest cause of stress is from an injury I am suffering. Doctors aren't wanting to treat me because of my age, but I need treatment to get back to normal, and to be able to go back to work again. It's driing me crazy :s

I don't actually know what causes stress but I know it happens too often and when it does all sorts of nasty things happen to my body. My best way of dealing with it at the moment is breathing really slowly and also sort of desensitizing myself to it, meaning I just think "i refuse to stress out because it's not worth it". It works a lot of times, other times it doesn't work, practice is the key :)) Also, no caffeine for me anymore! Distraction is pretty awesome too but it takes a lot of concentrating... Lately I found that if I think "I'm tough because I gave birth" really really works for me so I try to stick to that as well :) I'm sure a lot of ladies would agree :)

I make a to do list for the day and I tick off my accomplishments, however small for the day. It helps. It is amazing, how much we do achieve in a day. Favourite music helps with stress and lots of deep breathing

My biggest causes of stress are work and kids. I alleviate my stress by listening to music or unwinding with a bourbon. And yes I can stop at just one as I know its not a good stress solution.

My job!! My A-Hole boss! Money!!! My family!
I have been ridiculously stressed lately. My fiance is such a treasure. He alleviates my stress by running me a hot bath and then giving me a massage with my favourite moisturiser.
