No survey for me either, but they have’nt published my review yet.

  • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Just wondering if anyone has received the survey for this trial yet? I can’t see it in my emails.

    • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Nope I haven`t received it yet either Popsicle. I was ready to do it the other day then realised I didn`t have the survey!

Caredent, thank you for coming into the forums and educating us how to use the Interbrushes! Very helpful, this information should really be posted on your website!

Unfortunately I’m not lucky enough to have a smile as pretty as Jennifer Hawkins. If your teeth are a bit tricky to get in between it can be hard. But I guess it’s better they would rather have them bend and break vs bending and breaking our teeth.

    • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

      Hi Lisa359,

Luvena from CareDent here, I hope you are well. Wouldn’t we all like to have Jennifer Hawkins’s smile! I’ll bet she never gets caught with spinach in her teeth!

You’re right, cleaning the interdental space (the small triangle-shaped gap between the teeth and gumline) can be a bit challenging, especially towards the back of the mouth. However, it’s also really important to keep this area free of plaque and food debris so that your gums and teeth stay healthy. That’s why it’s essential to have the right tool for the job.

We’ve listened to a lot of feedback and have incorporated it into the new design of InterBrush (which the Beautyheaven trial team are testing) to give it more strength, more flexibility and more value. InterBrush can be gently bent before use to angle the blue tip to more easily clean the interdental spaces between back teeth. It is now also stronger and more flexible to gently clean and massage the gums without breaking.

If you only gently insert as much of the blue tip as will comfortably fit into the interdental space then you shouldn’t have a problem with InterBrush snapping or breaking. Being gentle in this area is key!

Hope this helps and please let us know how your experience goes!

Unlike other interdental brushes on the market (eg, Picksters), you don’t need to buy various sizes to use for all the different sized spaces between your teeth: one size does fit all. They are also made of plastic, which means they do not feel as harsh on your teeth – unlike the brushes with metal stems. However, they are obviously not as strong as the metal stemmed brushes and tend to bend and break during the cleaning process.

      Hi Orchid27,

Luvena from CareDent here. Thanks for sharing your feedback, it is really interesting to see and learn from everyone’s experiences first-hand. CareDent does offer InterBrush in 3 sizes (small, medium and large) but the small size is definitely the most popular.

As we age, the size of the interdental space (the small triangle-shaped gap between your teeth and gums) can increase, so over time as you get older you might find that you start to need a larger sized interdental brush.

We do also sell other interdental brushes with a wire-core called Picnix and ProximAlls. Every mouth and lifestyle is different so it really does depend on personal preference as to which is the best option for you. Some people prefer the feel of the wire-core brushes and some prefer the convenience of the single-use and extra gentleness of wire-free InterBrush.

Based on feedback such as yours, we have recently improved the construction of InterBrush to increase the strength, flexibility and value. Remember to only gently insert as much of the blue tip as will fit comfortably in the interdental space. There is no need to try to fit the entire blue tip into the space – as long as you can feel it gently massaging your gums then your cleaning is effective, and you shouldn’t have a problem with InterBrush breaking during use. InterBrush is designed to be flexible so you can bend and angle the tip before using to more easily reach the interdental spaces between your back teeth. Hope this helps!

Thankyou for you reply. I found the information very useful and find your new and improved Interbrushes so much better

I love how Luvena from CareDent has taken the time to respond to the members questions about this product. I know I have certainly learned a lot about InterBrush, and I’m not even on the trial.

It’s a shame more companies don’t do the same thing.

    • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

I second what you said there onlyoni – I`m not on the trial but always interested when it comes to dental things. I wasn`t 100% what the trial was for but how lovely that Luvena took an interest and actually wrote to members on here. For that reason, I will be finding these brushes to just try out for myself now.

Sometimes it’s worth paying a bit more for something the dentist recommends.
My hubby has gum problems and we can’t afford expensive dental work right now. He was terrified he would bite into a burger and have his front tooth fall out. The dentist recommended finding a mouthwash that contained a special ingredient. We’ve only found one brand from chemist warehouse and it’s more expensive but he really feels it’s helped his gums alot.

And it’s worth it if you go to a dentist and don’t need a filling you’ve made that extra money back.

  • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Once you get used to them it’s not too bad, but I don’t know if I want another ‘step’ in my oral hygiene regime, add mouthwash to it and it’s 4 steps . Almost as much as my skincare routine, it takes me long enough to get ready for bed now.

    • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Yes, your right on the ball there Lisa – takes longer to do your teeth these days. Once upon a time it was just clean teeth and walk out the door.

Everytime I went to the dentist I always had to have something done as I got older. Since starting up with a new dentist and she gave me a toothpaste to use (it is more expensive than the usual toothpastes), I have a noticed a big difference with my teeth. Went to the dentist the other month and nothing wrong….all good. That is an A+ for me as with the medication I take, getting holes is just the norm for me with my teeth.

Congratulations on this trial ladies…..not 100% sure what they are but I am assuming that they are like the Piksters my dentist put me onto. She reckons they are like floss but easier but they do come in all different sizes for different types of gaps. I liked them but then got onto the water flosser which is much easier.

Interested to know how you go though.

      Hi jatz,

Luvena from CareDent here. InterBrush are wire-free interdental brushes with soft bristles that are designed to clean interdental spaces – those are the little triangle-shaped gaps between your teeth where they meet your gums. Unlike the product you mentioned in your post, InterBrush is wire-free. This means that they are also safe to use if you have implants, crowns, bridges or braces as they won’t scratch. They’re also latex-free.

Ideally, you should use them as part of your regular oral hygiene routine morning and night (after brushing and flossing). They can also be used throughout the day as needed (I keep a pack in my desk at work because no one wants to see that I’ve had spinach salad for lunch!).

You’re right, they do come in different sizes (small, medium and large) but small is our most popular size.

Water flossers make a great flossing alternative and you could finish off by adding a quick clean with an interdental brush like InterBrush to make sure you haven’t missed any spots and to massage your gums to keep them in tip-top condition. InterBrush are also great to keep in your bag for a quick clean while you’re out and about to avoid any embarrassing “stuck between the teeth” moments!

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Hi Luvena from CareDent. Yours sound so much better than the one my dentist suggested. I like the idea of wire free and safer for people that have crowns which I seem to have a few of.

I can so agree with carrying them around with you because chicken sandwiches are a no no for me when out and about. Doesn`t help when hubby doesn`t say to me that you have something stuck in your teeth. No, I have to find out when I visit the ladies. :-/

Thanks for the reply and I will definitely get some of your Inter Brushes instead. 🙂

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

        Hi Jatz,

Luvena from CareDent again. Yes, we would definitely recommend choosing a wire-free interdental brush if you have sensitive gums, implants, crowns, bridges or braces. They are a lot gentler and you don’t have to worry about the wire in the brush causing accidental scratching. While you might not see any microscopic scratches, any rough areas can trap food particles and bacteria which can lead to gingivitis and, if left untreated, periodontitis, which is an infection between the tooth and the bone.

Having food trapped between your teeth can also spoil even the most perfect smile – and no one will ever tell you when it’s there! Spinach and fresh mangoes are the worst culprits I find but I just keep a pack of InterBrush in my bag and I am good to go, no matter where I am or what I’ve eaten.

If you’d like to try InterBrush but aren’t part of the trial team, they will be available in the November Beautyheaven Rewards Room. Also, watch out for a deal in Beautyheaven’s November Best Beauty sales and competitions email for November, and you can also buy them directly from http://www.caredent.com.au, supermarkets, Priceline, Pharmacy online, select independent pharmacies, http://www.amazon.com.au, http://www.catchoftheday.com.au and your dentist/hygienist. I am on this trial too.

I got the small sizes brushes but they are way too big for the gaps between my terth. I can at most fit a tip of the brush only half way through from outside (and that’s from pusing hard which I probably shouldn’t be doong). There is no way to clean the gaps from the inside… i don’t really “get” it. Flossing does a much better job …

    • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

      Hi skincarejunkie,

Luvena from CareDent here. Thanks for posting your feedback on your first experience using InterBrush. I also find that the interdental space – that’s the little triangle-shaped gap between your teeth where they meet your gums – varies throughout my mouth. In some places I can fit more of the blue tip in the gap and in some places there’s a tighter gap and I can only fit a little part of the blue tip into the space. That’s OK! As long as you can feel the InterBrush gently rubbing and massaging your gums between the teeth then you know that it’s effectively cleaning the plaque from that area and massaging the gums to help to keep them healthy.

Don’t try and force the whole of the blue tip into the space. Only gently insert a comfortable amount of the blue tip in and out of the interdental space. Don’t worry about trying to insert the brush from behind your teeth, just doing it gently from the front will be enough.

Flossing is great for dislodging plaque and bits of food from between teeth and under the gumline. InterBrush won’t replace that but is great for also massaging your gums to keep them healthy and for cleaning off any remaining plaque left behind. InterBrush is also more convenient and less messy if you need to discreetly remove food stuck in the interdental space while you’re at work or on the go.

        Hi CareDent

Thank you for your response!! I really appreciate this. With your response in mind I will try again.

Just one question, whenever I go to the dentist most of the plaque formed from behind the teeth rather than in front of the teeth. Is there anyway the CareDent brush can help reduce that?

        SJ

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

        Hi skincare junkie,

Luvena from CareDent here again. InterBrush is designed to remove plaque from the interdental space (the small triangle-shaped gap between your teeth and gumline). If the plaque is predominantly forming on the back surface of your teeth it sounds like you might need to give this area a little bit of extra brushing attention every time you brush your teeth. Definitely mention your concerns to your dentist or hygienist next time you have your check up and see what they recommend.

To check how clean your teeth are really getting every time you complete your oral care routine, you might consider using CareDent disclosing tablets every few weeks. These are fruit flavoured tablets which you chew and then spit out and they leave a red stain on any plaque that is remaining on your teeth. You can then identify where you need to spend a little bit more time and attention to get those areas really clean.

        Hope that helps!

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Hi Luvena I’m not on the trial but you have my attention.
The disclosing tablets, are they suitable to be used on children? I’d love to know every now and then that I’m cleaning my sons teeth properly.

        Thanks

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Hey skincare junkie – I used to have that problem all the time with my bottom teeth. The only time it felt great was after the check and clean by the dentist. Since using this different toothpaste after the dentist clean, I`ve not had any problems with plaque on my teeth now.

You can only buy it at pharmacies, it costs about $10 and the tube is only small but it`s not like regular toothpaste when you need a lot of it to clean your teeth. My tube lasts me just over 2 months. It is by Colgate and called NeutraFluor. The toothpaste is great for people like me that have high cavities all the time but it sure helped with the plaque. Although I think I mentioned somewhere the other day that since using this toothpaste, my whole teeth are free of cavities at my last check-up which is A+ for me.

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

That sounds really interesting jatz. Let me ask my dentist next time. I don`t have cavities and I want to think that my teeth are rather strong, but my plaque is definitely bothering me everytime when it`s close to due for a check and clean!

      • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

It`s excellent to see response from Luvena from CareDent on this dedicated thread. Well done for the brand response to individual queries and/or concerns.

    • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

Yeah and trying to force them just makes the brushes weaker as well. I think they are aimed at looking after your gums – not teeth. I hoped they would clean my teeth.
