So when you’re in the market for a new beauty buy, don’t feel the need to Google ‘best beauty products 2017’ – just take a look that this list of editor-approved products and you’re sure to find your next Holy Grail. Note – these aren’t all products released in 2017, rather they’re the products we found and loved this year. Here are the best beauty products that we discovered in 2017…

bh’s Julia: “The beauty product I have discovered this year is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I have always known about beauty sponges but just never thought I would like them and when I tried them I still wasn’t convinced – until I was told that the best way to use them is to wet it first! It worked so much better when damp and it gives my foundation a flawless, natural finish. I will keep using this product, it’s a must have for a perfect base!

bh’s Kate: “As everyone knows, I am a fake tan addict! I coat myself in fake tan almost every week, which means I spend a lot of time in the shower trying to remove old tan residue before I put on a fresh tan. But my shower scrub time has been significantly reduced this year because I found the ModelCo Tan Remover Exfoliating Soap. I’ve tried other fake tan removers in the past, but none have been able to remove my tan as quickly, effectively or thoroughly as this one! It lasts ages, it’s only $10 and it leaves my skin clean, smooth and ready for my next fake bake. I’ve already started converting the other tan lovers in the office!”

bh’s Aja: “Hands down my best beauty discovering for 2017 was the Glossier Super Pure – I was lucky enough to get my hands on it from the United States. The watery-gel like serum visibly reduces redness and calms breakouts and with an upcoming wedding creeping closer, this has been my skin’s BFF. As the bottle dwindles away, I’m praying Glossier start stocking in Australia quick smart!”

bh’s Rosie: “After getting multiple recommendations from friends and other members of the bh team, I’ve finally added Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup SPF 10 to my makeup kit, and it has quickly become my new HG. As the name suggests, it doesn’t move all day, keeps me shine-free, is really buildable, and gives me the perfect amount of coverage. Believe the hype people!”

bh’s Kristy: “Another vote for Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup SPF 10! I was introduced to it this year and it’s my best beauty buy of 2017. I apply it in the morning and there’s no need for touch-ups throughout the day – now that’s what I call a good foundation!”

bh’s Natasha: “My best beauty discovery of 2017 was the Swisse Ultiboost Evening Primrose Oil. In previous years I have suffered horrendously itchy and uncomfortable skin on a day-to-day basis. With no apparent redness or rash I have put this down to humidity and environmental aggressors. I discovered these capsules earlier in the year, and to my surprise they have made such a difference to my skin – the itchiness has lessened and I can get on with my day. Will definitely be stocking up on these in 2018!”

bh’s Vanessa: “My ultimate 2017 beauty discovery is using sesame seed oil as a body moisturiser! I’ve been lathering it all over my body everyday because it helps to hydrate the skin and so much more! I promise you, this will change your (beauty) life if you try it out.”

bh’s Sophie: “My best product discovery of 2017 is the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer. This concealer is bomb! I’m really picky concealer because I get self conscious about my dark under eye circles – but this one covers everything. It’s now a must-have for my makeup kit.”

bh’s Georgie: “Although I’ve known about this French brand for a number of years, I got my first real taste of its transformative products back in June. Following an amazing Hydra Peeling Skin Renewal Treatment, I got to interview Guinot international head of education Sandrine Carliez, who told me all about how the products specifically support skin tissue. I managed to get hold of the Guinot Beauté Neuve Radiance Renewal Cream ($121, adorebeauty.com.au) which I used in the lead up to my wedding and it honestly made my skin look brighter and more youthful than ever. It’s such a light, beautifully textured moisturiser and I am such a convert to this massively underrated brand!

bh’s Ellie: “I discovered the Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers this year and am obsessed. They are so moisturising for my dry lips and have a nice minty smell. There is a great range of colours. My go-to is the colour ‘Fig’ but I am seriously going to collect as many as I can.”

bh’s Caitlin: “I’ve been using Saya Skincare Argan Oil in place of primer – it really plumps and smooths the skin so makeup effortlessly glides on.”

bh’s Bree: “I have discovered the Benefit Cha Cha Tint! A fan of the original, I was keen to try a colour that was a little more peachy and that suited my complexion better. The tint is easy to apply and last all day. As I am ageing, I find liquid cheek products are my preference as they give me a more youthful glow and liquids help to keep my makeup less powdery and more natural-looking.”

bh’s Sam: “The new Tiffany & Co fragrance ($110, davidjones.com.au)! It’s the perfect balance of feminine floral and bold musk and conjures up memories of every special occasion of my past.”

bh’s Nadine: “My favourite product of 2017 has to be the L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Xpert pencil. I had never used an eyebrow pencil before and this absolutely ticks all the boxes. I love that it’s super easy to apply which means there are hardly ever any mistakes. The skinny tip makes it easy to fill your brows with small natural strokes and the other end of the pencil is an awesome brow brush – bonus points for the 2-in-1! Now brows are an important part of my beauty routine.”

bh’s Stephanie: “My best beauty discovery this year HAS to be Go-To Skincare! Everyone at bh HQ has heard me rave about this range on multiple occasions (daily, more realistically). This range ticks all the boxes – it’s Australian-made, cruelty-free, natural skin care that is uncomplicated and effective. My three Holy Grail stand-outs of the range are Properly Clean (a silky, mousse-style cleanser that’s gentle on the skin without ever being drying or stripping), Face Hero (a super nourishing blend of 10 plant and nut oils that hydrates, improves dark spots and helps prevent fine lines) and last but certainly not least is Face Case (a 100 per cent mulberry silk pillowcase which is gentle to the skin and hair and is one of the best products to prevent premature ageing). I love that this range is so simple yet so kind and effective on the skin, plus the packaging is adorable! Five-stars all round from me!”
