Boys say the funniest things – page 4

It’s an age-old debate: do men like girls to wear lots of make-up or not? The au-naturals amongst us holler no, men prefer girl’s to look fresh-faced (though let’s be honest, we keep them in the dark about how much make-up goes into looking that dressed down), yet very few of us are happy to be seen sans sprucing on a first date.

We’re experts in our field, but even we didn’t have the answer to the million-dollar question, so there was only one thing for it: hitting the streets with four photos, all of the same girl, but showcasing four very different make-up looks, and letting the boys battle it out, once and for all…

The eyes have it

We think this glam look is perfect for a Saturday night, but what will the guys have to say? Too much? Not enough?

Disclaimer: we asked the boys to say the first thing they thought of when they saw the photo. The opinions they’ve shared are entirely their own and we hold no responsibility for any offence caused to your make-up!

The verdict:

“All colours used blend well, I like this photo. 5/5” – Anthony, 21

“It’s all in the eyes. 5/5” – Cameron, 30

“Lips are a bit shiny, eyes a bit heavy – does she supply free sunnies? 3/5” Chris, 26

“She looks like a ballerina. A bit over the top. 3/5” – Ben, 34

“Formal and appropriate. 4/5” – Nathan, 23

“She looks the same as the last one but with lighter lipstick. This is my favourite. 5/5” – Grant, 35

“This look is nice but it screams wedding / family gathering at the boyfriends’ parents place. She looks nice and comfortable though. 4/5” – Casey, 30

“Classic beauty. 3.75/5” – Tyson, 27

“Great look for going out on the town in a dark outfit. It’s my favourite look. 4.5/5” – Alex, 23

“Great evening party look, but in my opinion this look should not be over used. 4/5” – Ric, 28

Total: 41.25/50

Findings: It was close, with just 0.25 of a point in it, but this look is a winner according to the boys. We’re off to add a bit of kohl right now…
