Most of us don’t have the time or the money to shimmy to the salon every time we’re feeling a little deflated. But that’s what makes it simply marvellous when we do book ourselves in for a pampering treat or two…
And it’s not just limited to a simple massage or a facial these days. There’s a treatment to suit every need or problem you may endure; from Chakra Balancing Massages, to detoxing heat wraps and everything in between. The beautyheaven team had the arduous task of road-testing six of the best spa-treatments, just so we could report back to you with the goods…
“I recently spent the most luxurious and relaxing 60 minutes of my life having a Bergman Beauty Care facial. It started with a basic cleanse with Sparkling Cleanse (a refreshing foaming cleanser), followed by Crystal Clean (a soft lotion toner). These were followed with Reborn Scrub, a super-soft exfoliator. By this stage my skin already felt smoother and firmer.
It only got better from here. Next, the first of two masks was applied. Purification is a cleansing soothing mask ideal for oily skin like mine. This product felt fabulous on my skin as I received the most relaxing scalp massage ever. The next mask was the moisturising Metamorphose, which is perfect for mature skin. As this mask did its job I was given a back and shoulder massage which left me wanting more.
And there was more. Time Stop, a beautifully rich moisturising cream for mature skin, was followed by Injectables @ Home. Scary name but fabulous product – and luckily, no injection at all! The finishing touch was, coincidentally, Finishing Touch, another luxuriously rich cream that helps reduce wrinkles and even skin tone.
I was now so relaxed I could have stayed on the table all night!” Rating: 5/5 – bh’s Di

Do you prefer anti-ageing treatments to regular ones?
I like the idea of the aveda one too. Love their products that I’ve tried – most of them have been amazing.
I would definitely do a facial! That’s my kind of treatment.
