How-to: hot summer hairstyles – page 3

A new season calls for a hot new hair look. But what to pick? A daringly different colour? A bold new cut?
Considering all your options and looking at countless celebrity pictures for inspiration can make it all seem like hard work, turning your excitement into exhaustion before you’ve even begun! So ditch the drastic and simply incorporate some brand new hairdos into your daily routine. It’s the perfect way to update your look for the new season – without having to commit to a whole new you.

Here, we show you how to achieve some super sexy sunny day styles…

It’s a wrap

1.) Lightly mist your towel-dried hair with Wella Professionals High Hair Crystal Styler, before blow-drying your hair straight, without creating volume.

2.) Spritz your hair with Wella Professionals System Professional Ultimation hairspray and comb through to create a controlled look.

3.) Next, use your fingers to apply Wella Professionals System Professional Shine Finish Pearl Smooth just at the roots to create a perfect finish, before pulling your hair up into a very tight ponytail at the top of your head.

4.) Spray some Wella Professionals High Hair Touch & Feel directly into your ponytail and dry again using a diffuser to create an ultra dry effect.

5.) Backcomb the ponytail right at its base to create texture and volume, before gently brushing through the ‘outside’ layers of hair until they look smooth, leaving the backcombing ‘inside’ the ponytail.

6.) Fold your ponytail back on itself (so that it forms a loop) and secure in place with an elastic band, leaving the bottom third of your ponytail loose so that you can later wrap it around your elastic band.

7.) Use bobby pins to secure the sides of the ponytail loop to your head (almost like a fan) so that it forms a bun, before winding the loose end of your ponytail around the bun and securing that in place too.

8.) Finally, take your favourite folded silk scarf and tie it around your hairline to frame your face and cover your ears, using pins as required to hold it in place.
