As the temperature beings to creep up, we become a little more drawn to the sun in an attempt to soak up some much-needed vitamin D. (Thank you for sticking around way too long winter!)
Although there’s nothing wrong with enjoying all that summer offers, it’s imperative to do so smartly, which means protecting yourself against one of the biggest premature agers there ever was… the sun. Check out six of the best face sunscreens, so you don’t end up red faced (and soon to be wrinkled) this sunny season…

NIVEA SUN Light Feel Daily Face Veil SPF30
“At last a face sunscreen that isn't heavy and greasy! You only need a small amount for full face and neck coverage. It is easily and quickly absorbed, ready for your makeup application. The small bottle means you can toss it in your bag for on-the-go application. Very economically priced too. I personally find the scent a little overpowering for me but I am becoming accustomed to it now I think. I will certainly re-purchase when this bottle runs out.” Rating: 5/5 – purplegirl

What do you think is more important in a sunscreen, texture or smell?

Us Aussies really have it rough when it comes to the sun, too! It's so harsh here, not meant for pale Caucasian skin at all!

I will only use a sunscreen that has a light texture that glides easily on the skin. Have been very happy with Nivea's light veil product.

Nivea is my all time favourite brand because of their quality and price.
I think the texture of sunscreen is more important than its smell.

I think smell. Sometimes I find that "sunscreen" smell too overwhelming.. adn I wonder if thats all anyone can smell on me!

Having oily combination skin, texture is more important than the scent of the lotion for me.
Is this new packaging on the normal Nivea Face Veil? I agree completely with purplegirl that this is a great little bottle to throw in the handbag. It's a terrific light formulation that I love to slather on as a double up if I find myself in the direct sun like at a sports carnival or the like! I whack this handy little Nivea one on my face even straight over the top of my make-up if I'm stuck in the sun for more than a couple of hours or so. It's great because it really is light and non-greasy for crazy applications like the sunny dilemma's I find myself in! Definitely one of my big faves!

I would have also added True Solutions tinted moisturiser to this list - it's the best!

I have to agree with softness, having oily/combo skin is tough enough, I think it the texture is not right then the smell doesn't matter! I hate that pancake look when my face is all shiny and horrible to touch.. So for me, it's definitely the texture!

I love invisible zinc, it provides great protection, the texture is not too runny or solid and the scent is light.

As long as it doesn't smell offensive, I don't mind.

I haven't seen this before. For me, I prefer a nice light textured sunscreen but having said that, it good if its pleasant smelling also.
