Soapglory

The land of soap and glory

A little like the unsung heroes in the body category, you can’t get past a gool ol’ soap – and don’t you think they deserve some of the glory?

The common myth that soap isn’t great for skin was addressed in our recent myth buster article – in fact, soap was at the forefront of the body cleansing movement way back when. Okay, so a history lesson this aint, but I do think it’s about time we gave our soap stars the snaps they deserve…

Ultra moisturing and long-lasting, some of our best body treats come in the form of cleansing bars. I am particularly privy to Pure Fiji Spa Soap for it’s creamy coconut, frangipani and passionfruit scent.

Free from parabens and synthetic ‘baddies’ is L’Occitane Olive Branch Soap. The combination of olive oil and olive leaf extract make it super nourishing and deep cleansing.

Needing to rinse off after a long day in the garden? Urban Rituelle Garden Party Geranium & Ginger Flower Shea Butter Soap will make you feel like you never stopped pruning – the telltale sign post-use will be how clean you look and feel!

For the boys, you can’t go past the creamy, amazing-smelling Blue Stratos Soap on a Rope. This comes complete with a rope handle, so the guy in your life can keep a firm grip on it (and prevent any shower-related injuries!)

Hmmm..the bar soap sounds nice. Pity I am not a big fan of using bar soap. I would like a cherry blossom scent with shea butter and mango. Or maybe can be like all berry blast, plus a lil bit of mango and passionfruit in it.hehe

I love my favourite MooGoo Soap :) As the norm for me give me a soap that is coconut or vanilla scented and I will lather it up, hehe :)

The Pure Fuji spa soap sounds very nice, especially having all of the ingredients mentioned in them, i don't like using soap on my face, but i love lathering my hands and body with a nice scented soap.

I use dove soap, which has moisturising cream so it doesn't feel drying.

I am loving the new Clarins Gentle Beauty Soap which can be used to cleanse the face and body which has a combination of Shea Butter and Hazelnut Oil and subtly fragranced with essential oils of citrus (very refreshing). I do usually love a vanilla and coconut body soap.

I like th sound of the Pure Fiji one. Passionfruit - yum! I rreally want a soap that doesnt leave your skin feeling dry after. In terms of smell though I love fruity smelling soaps. Anything from berry to citrus. Even a hint of vanilla. Anything that smells good enough to eat!!!

Great list, I just would have added Dove's Beauty Bar, Liv. : ) I love rose and lavender scented soaps, which remind me of my childhood and visiting elderly relatives. Though for my own home, I would prefer jasmine and frangipani scented soaps. It sounds like I should check out Pure Fiji's Spa Soap then. : )

Oh, yes, Mel, I haven't tried Moogoo soap but if it is anything like the shampoo that would be the most delicious soap bar ever! Alongside my Pure Fiji Coconut Infusion of course!

I love real roses as a soap scent, just need to find one! I like soaps that use real essential oils to give them their scent! In Essence have a few nicely scented soaps but like most fancy ones are a little more pricey than the everyday variety. I like the sound of the Loccitane olive soap for soft skin and the Urban Rituelle Garden Party Geranium & Ginger Flower Shea Butter Soap sounds like it would smell delish! I was given a Botani olive oil soap to try by a friend and wanted to review it but its not on bh :( Botani get your products on bh, they are nice and people will love them!!!!

I'm surprised that Blue Stratos soap on a rope is still around, I remember that as a teen, lol. Natio have a mens soap on a rope variety too I noticed the other day :)

hmmm i'm not a real fan of soap even though it is still good for your skin and the wonderful scents that are available is magnificent, they tend to leave caking and residue in the shower (either on the glass and espeicially on the floor) which is harder to clean.

I love soap and it doesnt really matter to me what scent im using because it doesn't tend to cling to my skin. But i am crazy for soap that smells of fruit because they just smell so good.

I love scented soap. Unfortunately they all tend to be on the drying side for me. These one sound great. I may have to give them a try after all.

I'm not very creative when it comes to thinking up good combination so I will just say that I love the Bloom Soaps especially the vanilla bean scented one. Don't use it on my face but it feels and smells heavenly on my skin...
