Every cloud has a silver lining

The sun is out, the birds are chirping, and despite the slight chill in the air, the weather is beautiful.
So you wouldn’t think that some of us experienced torrential rains last week –or in my case, got stuck right in the thick of a late-night downpour.
As I strolled to my car after seeing SATC2 (forgetting my umbrella inside the cinema in my Carrie-incited excitment), the heavens decided to open and in less than a second, I was completely drenched.
To say it was an uncomfortable car ride home would be an understatement.
I knew it was late, I knew I had to get up early for work in the morning, but all I could think about was the long, hot shower that was waiting for me when I got home.
I went all out – I lathered up (repeatedly) with some Radox Coca Butter and Vanilla Milk Shower Cream to calm and soothe my rain battered body, before treating my cold and clammy complexion to a bit of deep-pore cleanse with Biore Release Steam Activated Cleanser.
To top it off, I hopped out of the shower and covered my body with Vaseline Intensive Care Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion to ward off any overnight dehydration, and hopped straight into bed. Absolute bliss!

Aww that's terrible Carli! If it was me I'd have my mascara dripping down my face and my hair would've frizzed up. >< I still have yet figured out how to have smudge free eye make up.

Waterproof mascara! I have Manicare's Glameyes black waterproof mascara, which happens to be called "Blame it on the rain". It's been a godsend this year as we have had a lot of rain throughout both February and May here in Sydney! : )

Bobby pins!!! Rainy weather makes my curls go crazy, especially if it gets wet. So I try to pin it down as much as possible.

A hot shower, lathering up with whatever lovely bodywash I'm using at the time, then covering myself in my vaseline intensive care moisturiser, putting on my pj's and snuggling up under a blanket to watch tv.

I dont know if this is strictly a beauty product but I couldnt live without hot chocolate and marshmallows at this time of year! And of course heaps of moisturizers for my body, hands, face and hair. Too many hot showers dries my skin out otherwise!

I often get caught in the rain and a warm shower or bath is the way to go! I love lathering moisturiser on afterwards, lip balm, a spritz of perfume or some essential oils and popping on some warm comfy clothes and thick wooly socks. All topped off with a warm cup of tea, some candles, a great book and my cat napping nearby.... Thats my winter warm up and I love when I get the chance to do it!

Has to be the good old brolly. You still get wet if its a torrential rain, but at least your face isn't.
I love popping on a mask and lounging at home indoors when it is wet outside too.

When its rainy and cold, a relaxing hot bath with Jo Malone White Jasmine Mint Oil, then after a soak, a scrub with JM Vitamin E Body Scrub, the only problem is getting out, lol, I just don't want to do it.

A good hair-drying and straightening for my hair. A nice hot shower (but under 4 minutes of course) and waterproof mascara is a must.
