How to beat dry winter skin

Beauties, please put your hands together for Karina – one of the winners of the Dove 7 Day Test competition, and our newest guest blogger! This is Karina’s first blog ever (there’ll be a couple more from her in the months to come), so let's give her a very warm beautyheaven welcome...
Dry, irritated and itchy skin are the common symptoms of a harsh and cold winter. Between battling the icy winds outside, air conditioning and heaters inside, our skin struggles to stay soft and moist. While it may feel relaxing and temporarily combat the cold to stay under a warm shower or soaking in a hot bath, it also dries out our skin.
So when Dove offered Priceline employees a chance to tackle these issues firsthand, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the Dove 7 Day Test. Before using the Dove Triple Moisturising Body Wash, my skin was sensitive and suffering from all those common winter skin problems. It also didn’t help that I suffer from a mild case of dermatitis. Therefore, my scepticism at the supposed results of the use of the body wash was understandable.
The first thing I noticed was the thickness of Dove Triple Moisturising Body Wash. It has more of a cream-like consistency than a runny lotion. This definitely made a difference when using the body wash. I had used a few of the Dove soaps before and found the body wash to be even more moisturising and creamy than the soaps.
After a few days of use, the change in my skin was definitely noticeable. The winter dryness and irritation seemed to be minimised and by the end of the week my skin felt soft, smooth and delicate. Dove Triple Moisturising Body Wash is one of the best body washes I have used. I continued to use it after the trial period and have recommended this product to many customers after participating in the Dove 7 Day Test, and now I would like to recommend it to you!

Congrats Karina!
The thing I hate most about winter is having to wear all these clothes!! So many layers! I love it in summer when I can just chuck just about anything on and it's so much more comfortable!

Hi Karina - great blog. I'm very guilty of having long hot showers - especially on cold winter mornings. My skin does dry out often even in summer time, so I must moisturise everyday and use a moisturising body wash.

My poor husband works just to pay the gas company for the heater i have on all day (well, the cat likes it too !) and the long hot showers i take. I also put the heater on in the bathroom like 20 mins before i have a shower to heat the bathroom so i don't feel cold. All in all, i love winter, as long as i am indoors and my heater is blasting the hot air. My poor skin.

I hate nothing about winter, its the best time of the year in tropical NQ, lol. The only thing I hate is the thought that its nearly over, nooooo :( Wish it were winter all year round, haha, the joys of living in the tropics ;) Love this body wash, definitely a favourite :)

Oh I desperately need this - I just got back from summer in Europe and my skin is adjusting very badly to this weather! I must admit I am definitely guilty of having long, hot showers and sitting right in front of the heater in an attempt to get warm lol.

Welcome Karina to Beauty Heaven. This is a great review and I look forward to reading many more.
Winter is the worst time on my poor hands and I jump for my QV cream which is a bit too heavy for the warmer weather but great at this time of year. I am very guilty of not wanting to get out of the shower in winter as it is so nice.

Welcome to bh Karina, congrats on your win, and thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences :-) I'm a heat and light lover so those chilly dark mornings and early sunsets are the things that bother me the most. Don't have time for long showers and I'm on top of the heater most of the time (lol!), but dry skin isn't so much of a problem for me because there's heaps of great products out there to help. Dove Body Silk is my fave - keeps my skin soft and hydrated...
