CUSTOMER SERVICE is a HUGE part of what I look for in any salon treatment ... regardless of how good the actual treatment is ... if the service stinks I won't go back! :(

Yes, I agree with Rewalize that a salon treatment is definitely very much based on how well you feel treated. Customer service definitely. It's got to be very professional or why go?

I've only ever had one salon treatment over 20 years ago - Clarins products and I discovered I was allergic to something, came out in a rash and tiny little blisters all over my face (never been allergic to any other beauty products in my life). Put me off going again, but I often buy a "package" for my Mum - it's important they make her feel like a queen, and don't try to push her to buy products.

I love to be pampered but I'm always a bit suspicious of the hygiene in these salons. The only time I ever got a pedicure I ended up with an infection. They can't have cleaned the implements very well. I don't mind a good massage, and I certainly prefer to get a leg wax in a salon, but I'm not sure about any other treatments.

Every Christmas Mum gets my sister and I an Aveda facial. I always look forward to it and Aveda comes out on top compared to other facials. The girls who works there are lovely also!

Yes I think the client service should be excellent all the time in salons. Communication into what you can expect should be the first thing they talk about to you. Pampering of any kind is great and trust goes a long way as well.

For salons I look for atmosphere and genuinely friendly, non-judgmental staff who love their jobs and know their stuff. I don't need it to be particularly tranquil or over-the-top, but I like it to be comfortable and earnest in its service and style. Price isn't the biggest problem since I'm there for a luxe feel anyway!

I definitely look for a salon that is clean and tidy - and I usually go in there, as opposed to calling, to make my appointment to make sure that I feel the staff is nice - if I dont get a good first impression, I will call a few days later to cancel the appointment. I usually go to the same trusted salon all the time, but when we moved a few years back, I was trying to find a good one near home, but eventually gave up, and now Im back at my old salon 40 mins drive away. I'd happily travel for a good experience.

I cant afford salon treatments and the only time I have ever had one was when it was given to me as a gift. It was pure heaven for me, I would look for quality products and good customer service if I did get salon treatments regularly.

I wish I had the money for a facial massage - but I spend so much on my physio already lol.

I always appreciate a salon that doesn't do the hard sell on products following the treatment.

i like a well trained therapist. someone who considers how each movement will feel.
most therapists just slap you around a little and expect you to say you enjoyed it.

As if we needed more perks! But I love the idea of getting extras for mentioning Beauty Heaven. Those packs sound delightful.

I'm super fussy when it comes to salon treatments. The treatment room must be clean and spotless - especially the showers. I hate places where the staff are super stingy with towels. Good hygiene is a must.
