Get on the body smoothing bandwagon

Although New Year’s Eve was a few weeks ago, I feel like it’s still ok to make New Year’s resolutions. Especially since I think it’s a New Year’s resolution that everyone should join in on (if they haven’t already).
So here it goes…
I hereby resolve to moisturise my body twice daily – once in the morning, and once at night. I will not neglect this step in my routine, and will treat it with equal importance to brushing my teeth, washing and moisturising my face, and putting on deodorant.
So, beauties, if you care to join me on this endeavour, here are some products that will help make your skin feel silky smooth all year long:
For the summer months, the multi-tasking Hissyfit Body Double will be your go-to cream. Formulated with SPF30+ and UVA/UVB protection, the cream also offers intense hydration, as well as a vanillia scent that will make you want to moisturise regularly.
If an all-rounder is what you’re after, then look no further than Cetaphil Moistursing Lotion. The cream is suitable for all skin types (even for those of you who suffer from sensitive skin), provides maximum moisture and is fragrance free – it’s the perfect staple.
And if you’re looking for a super splurge, why not try La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Body Cream? It’s a luxurious pampering treat that’ll keep your skin ultra-hydrated and feeling satin-smooth.

What is your (belated) New Year’s resolution?

Carli, I will join you with this one. I moisturise my body only once a day but know it needs more hydration so will go with twice a day. I am currently enjoying Kiehl's light version of its classic creme de corps. Happy moisturising!

All the best with sticking to your resolution Carli. I'm kinda starting mine late this year as I had a bub recently. I aim to moisturise my entire body at least daily and exfoliate my body more often to avoid ingrowns and remove dead skin. Also would like to treat myself to regular facials even if that means doing them at home.

During summer I normally only stick with once a day because it just gets too hot and humid up here and even just putting moisturiser on my skin makes me feel hot and sweaty. I never fail to miss at night though, and usually the only exception of applying it during the day is if I know I am heading outdoors and want to use an SPF Body Lotion (such as TriShave 3in1 UV Body Defense SPF30+ Moisturiser for Women ) so I don't get burnt. ;)

I use body lotion every day for about a year now and it has made such a difference to my skin. I think, however, that I've neglected my feet for too long! I recently invested in some Lóccitane Shea Butter Foot cream and my feet are already looking better. Got to keep this good routine going now!

This week I have made a concerted effort to look after my nails (toes and hands). Although I paint them regularly I feel my cuticles and surrounding skin just isn't getting the love and attention it deserves. So I plan to look after my tootsies and hands much much more!

I'll be happy if I moisturised my body once daily, if not twice. I'm also hoping I can stick with my current skincare regime which includes cleansing/toning my face twice daily, exfoliating once or twice a week, applying my serum, day/night cream and eye cream and having weekly face masks and most importantly, never go to bed without removing my makeup/cleansing.

The Hissyfit one sounds like a great one for my arms - always being exposed and I've noticed they are my 'worst off for wear' body part as far as my skin goes. This SPF30 would solve the problem.
My belated New Years Resolution is simply to drink more water - I think I used to drink more when I was younger but I should really drink a lot now too.

wow, I've never even thought about putting on body moisturiser twice daily. It's something I might consider doing in winter when my skin's a lot drier.
I've slacked off a bit with my dry body brushing so that's something I'll have to continue with. I also need to cut out fizzy drinks, which is so hard in this heat, but I'm glad you've managed to do it Emilyvintage. I also need to cut out dairy once and for all as I'm intolerant.

My belated New Years resolution is to be more adventurous. I tend to stand back a little and watch others have fun. So I will try to be more brave and less of a scaredy cat. LOL

I definitely want to jump on board. I need to moisturise my body a lot more. A friend is getting married in March, and I have got a nice dress & strappy heels picked out, so it is a great incentive to get cracking and slather on the moisturiser (plus exfoliate!)

I like the sound of the Hissyfit one the most.

I definately need to jump on the bandwagon with you Carli. My skin, especially my legs, let me know when I'm not moisturising enough. I think I might try the Cetaphil one because I have really sensitive skin. My belated resolution is to take better care of my nails. They often get forgotten about with being so busy so I'm going to file, buff, moisturise and polish regularly.

I always believe you can never over moisturise your body, no matter if its winter or summer.

I'm going to make a commitment to moisturise once a day, I'm certain that if I try to go for twice a day I'll pack it in!

I have been very neglectful of my feet of late so I have started with gusto smoothing and moisturising them to try and get back control. My Ped-Egg has never worked so hard.

I always moisturise at least once a day and even though it's now very hot and sticky in summer, I'm opting for a lighter moisturiser and the skin still needs a drink especially while sitting under air con all day.
My new years resolution was to TRY change my way of thinking ...(have been reading up a lot on laws of attraction and manifestation etc).... I am trying to focus on and be thankful for what I do have in life and not dwell on things I don't/cant have. The dissasters which have recently struck really showed me that being thankful is so important. Had a few down days (men grrrr!!!) and fell off track but getting back on board :)
