Is anything wrong with this picture?

Pardon the mo, my dear friend Matt is sporting a bit of a growth on his lip in aid of Movember. He’s copped many a jab from friends and family about the ‘mexican-style fuzz’ and ‘dirty upper lip’ – but hey, it’s for charity!
Enough on the mo though, I want to talk about the fascinating fascinator atop his head. Yep – the gorgeous black and white number. Predominantly only seen on the Phillies at the racetrack, Matt has turned the tables on this once feminine-only trend and done so with such je ne sais quoi that I think we may just have a new trend on our hands.
Yep, the boy sure can wear the s&%# out of that fascinator, and it got me thinking, why don’t we see more guys sprucing up when it comes time to hit the track? Okay, maybe giant feathery fascinators aren’t going to take off right away – but guys, come on! The girls go to so much effort to look schmick on race day, the least you can do is shine your shoes and sport a sophisticated tie! Or what about a nice buttonhole to match your lady friend? Or some shiny cufflinks to add a bit of bling?
But if we can’t get you to do any of the above and can only get you to do one thing, it’d probably be to smell nice. That means a spritz of something manly that will make you feel suave (even sans the nice tie). We like John Varvatos Artisan Black, with its notes of wood, leather and musk – wear this and you’ll be sure to round up the Phillies come race day.

What do you think about men upping their game come race day?
Matt's proudly supporting Movember with his erm...Mexican-style mo'. Find out how you can support Movember to WIN!

I really wouldn't like to see my hubbie in a fascinator but I have to say he always smells incredible and looks suave in his suit come race day.

I totally agree Liv, men should definitely do something to stop being so BORING!!! Poor men, all they can really do is put on a suit, which is not much... they desperately need some help, I'm sick of looking at suits all the time!!
Lovely pic of Matt, now there's a man with courage lol :P

There is no way my hubby would wear a fascinator and to tell you the truth, it wouldn't suit him either.

I think the guys are making more of an effort on race day. Certainly the Melbourne Racing Carnival this year and last year had many guys looking cool in elegant suits, pocket handkerchief, shiny shoes and hats. The fashion commentators also said this, however it doesn't apply to the majority of guys.

LOL I donno if many men wud b confident enuff to pull it off. Either way I think it would be lovely if the men do dress up more for the race as the ladies do, just not as extreme.

i'd love my man to go to the whole kit and caboodle if we were going out to the races or somewhere similar, suit tie matching button hole, clean haven geled hair nice shows. I think it would be lovely to do different coloured suits aswell Oh and definatley aftershave or decent smelling cologne!

I love it when a man puts the effort into events, especially race days what with all the tradition that goes along with them. Suits, waist-coats, hats, gorgeous ties gimme gimme gimme. However, this picture disturbs me deeply and hope to never see a man (quite a cute one too!) in a fascinator ever again!

fascinators on a guy, I think not. But a great scent and stepping up the grooming regime definitely! Movember is a great cause, best of luck with your movember fund raising Matt :)

I love men to wear hats to the races, I'm a little old fashioned when it comes to looking your best when at an event such as this. Love the picture!!! I think some guys look like they need to have a shower or even buy some new clothes when they head to the races. I think a little more effort on some peoples part wouldn't go astray. :)

I love it when guys put in a bit of effort at the races (and I'm definitely NOT talking about guys in fluoro suits of costumes - what is with that?!). But I'm not sure I know anyone masculine enough to make a fascinator part of their look without it looking like their wearing a girls hat. Maybe guys should stick to the trilbies.

Guys wearing fascinators, not the best idea. Those sorts of accessories should definately be left to the women!
