Dermalogica Pre-Shave Guard

Dermalogica Pre-Shave Guard is a pH-neutral, lightweight protective formula that prepares skin for shaving by softening the beard in order to minimise razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Camphor helps firm and tone the skin to lift beard away from skin for razor closeness. It also contains clove flower oil, which helps open pores and soften beard while soothing skin against the discomfort associated with razor burn and menthol. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory. It can be used on all skin types, particularly on tough or coarse beards.
To use, after cleansing, apply a thin layer of Pre-Shave Guard to the beard. Do not rinse off. On top, apply preferred shaving cream or gel. Shave and rinse razor blade often.

For skin-tingling product lovers!

I love this!!! I got a free sample of this although it's for mens. I love the way my skin tingles after I wash it off - it's sooooo refreshing. I can't seem to come across any women's shaving products with menthol in it, and this has been a hit for me. Make sure you buy "daily clean scrub" as a pre-shave compliment to a closer shave!

great product

I was dubious about this product and what it's actual purpose was. But it is quite the wonder product. It acts to prepare the skin and hair prior to shaving. It softens the hair and reduces the amount of drag on the skin from the razor. It therefore acts to prevents razor burns and red bumps. It helps to create more of a gliding action over the skin.
Can definitely recommend this more anyone with tough thick beards, sensitive skin, those who suffer from razor burn, or those who are required to shave regularly. My bf doesnt shave without it now!
A little goes a long way and one tub has lasted over 6 months or regular use.

a good barrier

At first i wasn't sure about the pre-shave guard, i was hesitant to apply it because of previous experiences. I have never found them to work or change the shaving experience at all. After applying it my skin felt very cool. i left it for about a min before applying the shaving cream, there was a very nice scent of eucalyptus, my skin felt very good and fresh. I started shaving, and after 7 days of growth normally there is a great dragging sensation which is quite painful but with this product i could hardly feel that i was shaving at all, the razor glided over my skin very smoothly and softly. Very happy with this product.
