Avoid date night disaster

Are your date nights so few and far between that you can’t afford to let a bad one come your way? Perhaps you’re off on a first date and want to ensure nothing, but nothing ruins this perfect evening for you? As you may well know, there are a few date destroyers out there that have the potential to ruin your whole evening, if you don’t take the correct measures to keep them far away, that is.
Read on to discover five of the most dastardly date destroyers – and learn how you can deal with them well before he picks you up…
Date destroyer #1: uncomfortable heels
So you just love the brand new pair of shoes you picked up for your big night, right? The problem? You haven’t broken them in yet. There’s nothing worse than not being able to enjoy yourself during a romantic stroll or a night of dancing because your feet are in so much pain you can’t even concentrate on what he’s saying. Arm yourself with a pair of high heel inserts that you can slide into your new shoes when they begin to hurt – they’ll be sure to stop you feel like you’re walking on hot coals, and help you feel like you’re gliding on air.
We recommend: Insolia Inserts from All Day Heels
Date destroyer #2: sweaty betty
Imagine the scene; you’ve slipped into a fabulously figure-hugging Little Black Dress and you look and feel amazing. The issue? As you’re out enjoying a fun-filled night with your man, you realise you're a little whiffy in the underarm region! Eek! Don’t stress, you can stop this before it happens! All you need to do is ensure you have a heavy-duty, hard-working deodorant that's guaranteed not to let you down in even the steamiest of circumstances. A product that will leave you feeling protected all night long, with no fear of becoming a sweaty betty, or even the least bit whiffy.
We recommend: Dove Clinical Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant
Date destroyer #3: frizzy hair
You don’t want anything to rain on your parade but unfortunately we can’t control the weather. So if you want to ensure your silky smooth locks don’t end up looking like something that’s been through the washing machine, it’s important to take the right steps, making certain your ‘do looks ‘done’ throughout the date. A de-frizzing treatment is perfect for this – simply apply to towel-dried hair and style as usual. Now you can enjoy your date night whatever the weather!
We recommend: Moroccanoil Frizz Control
Date destroyer #4: smudged make-up
It’s the end of the date and you and your beau are indulging in a few romantic smooches. Oh la la! Everyone loves kisses, but it’s hard to stay in the moment when you’re worrying about your lipstick smudging all around your mouth – and his face for that matter. What about when he pulls you in for a cuddle? You’d want to stick your head in a hole if you left a foundation face print on his black button-up shirt, right? On date night, opt for long-lasting, stay-put make-up. Applying less make-up is also a great way to ensure you don’t rub off on him too much.
We recommend: Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation & Mirenesse Viva Eternal Gloss Long Wear 3D Mineral Lip Colour
Date destroyer #5: hairy legs
If your date with your boy turns into a cuddle and a sleepover, you don’t want him to crawl between the sheets and be faced with legs spiker than his great uncle Jim. Ensure you prep your legs before you head out the door - preferably a few hours before your date, in order to display the smoothest, silkiest pins he ever did see. Using a nourishing at-home wax will ensure you stay hair free for longer and your skin stays sexy and supple for the long haul too!
We recommend: Veet Delightful Warm Gel Wax

Applying lipstick without a mirror (duh!) sometimes results in a "Joker" moment - I should just go to the bathroom and do it properly, lol...

My boyfriend always loves to recap a moment 5 years ago, where on our second date we were eating sushi, and a bit of seaweed got stuck in my tooth. He's never let me live it down!

I've been with my byfriend for 6 years so I'd say any sort of malfunction would just make him laugh or get his camera out :O
Having said that I'm always guilty of painful shoes because I have bad circulation in my legs so any heels worn all night tend to give me foot cramps. Hello Cramp-eze!!!

I have been with my partner for 29 years any disasters we have with appearance these days is not a big deal. I try and make sure I do body maintenance regularly, hair removal, hair dye, exfoliate, pluck eyebrows, nail polish and teeth whitening, so I am at the ready. Aching feet is my biggest problem if I wear heals.

I swear to god deo does not work in the worst of situations. I was sweating after a quick 10 minute run and my arms were literally wet.

I think the wearing less make up so it doesn't smudge is a good idea.

Some really great tips there. I think it is always best to wear minimal makeup on a first date and an outfit that is comfortable.

My biggest date night disaster was when my dad tried to set me up with someone. He was so not my type and I have never let my dad get involved in my relationships every again.LOL I still love him though because he meant well.
