Let's talk about breasts

Have you ever considered having a breast augmentation? It’s really not an uncommon thing if you have.
Whether it be to enlarge/reduce the breasts, reconstruct them, perk them up after breast feeding, or even patch up a previously botched plastic surgery job, on a daily basis thousands of women will consider having some kind of breast augmentation (or ‘boob job’ as they’re more commonly known).
And we bet that if you’ve ever considered having a boob job you’ll have a fair few questions that you’re dying to ask, right?
And that’s exactly what www.realbreastimplants.com.au [Please note, the link won't work until the website launches on November 2.] is going to give you the opportunity to do. It’s an online blog that will be launching on 2nd November, and will follow the experience of three women undergoing breast augmentation (using polyurethane implants) for different reasons.
One woman has decided to have a breast enlargement, having never before undergone cosmetic surgery; another is hoping to improve the look of her breasts after having kids and breastfeeding; and the third is undergoing a replacement for the capsular contraction (hardening) of her current implants. The blog will be written by the three women and will take you through everything from their first consultations, to the final outcome of their augmentation (before and after pictures included!).
Through the blog, you’ll also have the opportunity to submit questions about breast augmentation, and they’ll be answered by Dr. Michael Miroshnik and Dr. Morris Ritz, both fully qualified, Australian-trained Plastic Surgeons specialising in cosmetic plastic surgical procedures.
And as it just so happens, we’ve got Dr. Michael Miroshnik coming in to bh to participate in a live forum chat! So if you have any questions or concerns about breast augmentations – or any other cosmetic surgery procedures for that matter – our live forum chat will be your chance to have your questions answered by a qualified surgeon.
The live chat will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday 2nd November 2011 in a dedicated forum thread (click here to go to the thread), so be sure to put the date in your diary.
And don’t forget to check out www.realbreastimplants.com.au when it launches on 2nd November too!
Have you, or anyone you know had/considered having a breast augmentation?

I had a reduction when I was 23 (10 years ago) becuase my breasts were heavy, saggy, large areolas and I just really inherited the ugliest breasts ever from my mother's side (my three sisters have perfect ones)and I am so glad I did but now I want implants as the reduction made my breasts more perkier and implants would look awesome! It's not the nicest thing to go through and when you tell poeple about what's involved they cringe but if you really suffer from the pain of large breasts or just aren't happy, it's really worth it but you really have to do your research from the doctor to the procedure etc. I have a friend and a cousin who had breast implants 20 years ago and they are still happy they had them done. Innovations in cosmetic surgery is only getting better too. I have a friend who confided in me recently that she was thinking of getting implants as she is a tiny A cup and would have more confidence with larger breasts. I have to get some more info for her so she can then make her decision but I will also tell her about the forums and chat. This is a really great idea BH.

This is a fantastic idea! I've been wanting breast implants ever since I can remember, since I'm practically flat chested. It would be great to follow these three women to help me with making my own decision. Thanks BH!

I've been considering getting a lift and reduction down now after having 2 kids.. Big boobs run in my family, with all the women being at least an E up to and I cup so quite large. I'll be asking a question for my sis though who is going to have the procedure done after her next child due to back breaking pain. It 's a great idea for the chat BH and thankyou in advance!!!

My cousin is considering getting a reduction because her boobs are massive and it's been causing her terrible back pain for a number of years. However, because she hasnt had children yet she is hoping they will reduce naturally after breast feeding etc

I have considered a breast reduction but I think that I will be waiting till I get a bit older and had already had kids. But it would still be nice to learn more about them in advance.

I have larger breast but haven't thought about getting a reduction, I'm just lucky I've found the right sized bra that feels comfy. But maybe if I got back problems because of my breast.

My auntie is actually a really big name in the world of Australasian Aesthetic surgery and her area is Breast Augmentation so if I ever thought about it - I know exactly who to talk to. As it stands I dont feel I need it, but one day that may change.

I considered getting bigger boobs when I was in my 20's, after research into it I decided the risks were not worth it. I had seen to many unsuccessful stories on tv. Mistakes that could not be fixed. I decided to be thankful for what I had. I do not regret my descision...###Sandra

I wish I could say I'm happy with my body but sometimes I do think about having breast implants. But the risks and the cost of having them is just not worth it.

Two women in my extended family have had boob jobs, both to enlarge them. It is such a personal thing that I dont think that people should be judged about it. I am grateful that I have rather large breasts anyway.

My sister has and sort of regrets it, the cost and having problems of one breast looking wierd as well as having to change them every ten years especially since after being in so much pain after her procedure.

This is such a coincidence - my girlfriend has had an enlargement done TODAY! I've always thought I'd be too afraid to have it done, what with all the horror stories you hear about, but after breastfeeding 3 kids for over 12months each I would possibly consider it now - maybe! I guess you only really hear about the people who have disasters, but not about the many thousands whose operations turn out very successfully. I'd certainly be interested to read the 3 ladies blogs. I think if it wasn't so expensive I'd probably think about it a bit more seriously. I also think that if you have boobs that aren't either too big or too small it's easy to say be happy with what you've got.

I am actually really conscious abt my breasts because after losing so much weight, im flat chested now.lol. So i'd be pretty interested in breast enlargement. But then again, just thinking abt the risks scare me off.

Really interesting idea and will be checking back nov 2nd. ... i have considered a breast enlargment before but i am way to scared of going under the knife and all the possible risks...plus its not cheap. I dont know if I would do it or not if the oppertunity arose?!
