Look hot, party for longer

Are you ready to ring in the New Year beauties? By now you’ve no doubt got your New Year’s Eve plans made, your outfit picked and your hair and make-up looks sorted – so really, all that’s left to do is put a few measures in place to ensure your look lasts as long as you do (you don’t want to have to bail before midnight because your heels are hurting or your make-up hasn’t lasted, right?).
So before you head out to welcome in the New Year, make sure you’ve ticked the following off your to-do list…
Avoid a make-up meltdown
If you want your make-up to last as long as you do – without becoming oily or cakey – it’s vital that you prep your skin correctly. Using a mattifying primer before you apply your foundation will not only ensure that your foundation application looks smoother and lasts a lot longer, but it will also help to minimise any oil build-up throughout the night. And who doesn’t want to look fresh-faced when everyone around you looks like they’re fading?
We like: Alexami Mattifying Effect Primer, and Napoleon Perdis Mattifying Mineral Primer.
Sport hot hair for longer
Avoid having a hair crisis halfway through the night by securing your hair ‘do with a lightweight, yet strong hold hairspray (that way it’ll stay in place without looking like a fixed helmet!). We like: Sebastian Professional Shaper Zero Gravity for it’s light, brushable texture that’ll hold your hair in place, no matter how much dancing you do! For best results, apply it on to dry hair and then continue to spritz small amounts through your hair as you style.
Keeping a few bobby pins in your handbag will also prove to be a lifesaver if you decide you want to pin up your ‘do during the night.
Stay fresh and fancy free
Feeling fresh and comfortable while you’re out and about plays a big part in how long you’ll last on the night. If you’re feeling sticky, sweaty or grimy, chances are you’ll want to head home as soon as you can, but if you’re feeling fresh and clean…well, you could party all night and well into the morning! CAREFREE® ACTI-FRESH® Liners are the perfect, no-fuss way to stay feeling fresh for longer. The extra-breathable liners draw moisture away from your body, ensuring that you stay sweat and odour free for as long as necessary (and we all know there’s nothing worse than feeling less-than-fresh in your nether regions!).
Plus, the liners are so thin that we bet you won’t even realise you’re wearing one, and you’ll also be able to slip a few extra into your handbag or pocket without anyone knowing they’re there!
Put your best foot forward
Pop some Hollywood Fashion Secrets Secret Gel Cushions into your high heels before you head out (because you know as well as I do that once you’re out and about and they start to hurt you, your night is pretty much ruined!). The soft cushions help to prevent the aches and burning sensation caused by wearing heels, giving you free reign to dance the night away without any pain!
Say bye-bye to B.O
New Year’s Eve can sure get sweaty – all that dancing, all those people – but that doesn’t mean you should let a smelly case of B.O get in the way of having the night of your life! Rexona Clinical Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant prevents heavy sweating for up to 48 hours, which means that if you apply it before you head out, you can feel confident that you’ll still be dry and protected the morning after (because no one wants to lug around a massive deodorant for touch-ups all night!).
What have you got planned for New Year’s Eve?

To bring in the New Year my family will be keeping me company. They are the most loving family I could wish for. We will watch the tv for the countdown to 2012.

I love fireworks too Rk2002! So pretty! We've been invited out with a large group but I'm not sure if I'll just duck out to watch the 9pm fireworks or if I'll just go to sleep and not go out at all. I know what the kids will want to do though!
