Great skin oil ... Skin is so soft..

The rosé hip one smells so lush and nothing like the usual palmers cocoa range... I used this along my scars and noticed an even looking base... It wasn't at all greasy and absorb easily... Wll use as moisturiser ... But no luck on scr appearance reduction ... :(

Doesn't work miracles, but does do what it says on the bottle

I picked up a bottle of the Skin Therapy Oil in the rosehip variety in the last Beautorium. It's taken me this long to put up a review, as I wanted to test it out on my scars and pigmentations - I have several red patches as a result of acne, plus a couple of noticeable scars on my chest and on my arm.

While it's not going to magically make all of your scars disappear, it will improve the appearance of red scars. The oil doesn't work very well on white scars, however. The oil is most effective on the face - I noticed the difference in my skin tone after a few days of use; if I had been slack in my skin care routine, my skin tone soon reverted back to its patchy, dull state.

As much as I want to give the Skin Therapy Oil five stars, the flip-top bottle annoys me enough that I'm taking a star off. I can't get even drops out; it kind of drops from both the nozzle and the edge of the bottle. Otherwise, this is fantastic on the face, especially mixed in with your moisturiser, but it can aid in quicker healing of your scars as well.

Absorbs quickly for no mess, with visible results!

This product has saved me. As somebody with quite a few childhood scars on my legs, I've found that this oil has helped my scars to appear less noticeable, and my pale legs look more evenly toned overall. I use this oil all over, straight after a shower, and it absorbs very quickly and doesn't stain my clothes. I purchased my first bottle when there was a promotion with a smaller bottle free, and started with the small bottle which is still going strong after daily use for two weeks. The scent is pleasant without being overwhelming, and considering the low price and results, I can't recommend this oil enough for girls who have tried every cream or gel moisturiser on the planet.

Not too oily

Having used this oil for just over a month now I find that it is a very good basic oil for the skin however I don't think that it does lives up to the claims on the bottle. While it definitely does make the skin feel softer it didn't show results in terms of skin tone evening nor did it make any stretch marks less evident.

Very comfortable oil

I have used this oil once or twice a day through my entire pregnancy so far. It is an absolute gem! I am currently six months along and no stretch marks so far - although I highly doubt this has ANYTHING to do with the oil, I think if you are going to get them there is no way of escaping it. However the oil does wonders for that horrendous itchiness you get accross your expanding belly during growth spurts. I absolutely love to sit down after my shower at night and massage my belly with this stuff, it's a really nice soothing time for me and bubs seems to like it!

The Rosehip version is fantastic - I had previously tried the coco oil and was so put off by that strong coco-y smell, but this nice gentle rose frangrance is just so subtle and beautiful.

I can't vouch for any improvements to scarring, as I don't have any scars on the areas I'm currently using the oil, however I will absolutely be continuing to use this oil after I have my baby so I will be sure to post an update!

Impressive

This product really has improved my stretch marks!! A little bit goes a long way, the fragrance is really pleasant, smells like roses! The price and size is great but it does come out very quickly out of the small hole in the top!!

Superb and I love it.

I'm 28 years old and an Asian, live in a humid and hot weather country. Plus extreme air-conditioning environment when I am at work. I've started using this oil since 15/8/2012. It was recommended by a doctor that I went to in regards of my skin condition. I've used other pharmaceutical lotions & body oils before, but they don't work as good as these therapy oil, cos I have to re-apply them a few times during the day and doesn't caused any allergy reaction to my skin. I used to suffer from dry ashy skin condition on my neck, arms and legs. Now my neck are smoother and so is my legs and arms. The scars from all the years of scratching has now faded too. It absorbs well and my skin is well moisturized all day with just one application after every shower in the morning and night. I'm totally hooked, and I'm glad that the oil works really well on me. I bought the 60ml bottle too for travelling as well as at the office. Basically I used them everywhere now!

Great smellling, light skin oil.

This stuff smells soooo amazing! to me, very much like mint chocolate icecream (yum!) It is a very strong scent though, and does get a little unbearable if you're applying near the face (I would say the scent is too strong to apply on the face) elsewhere on the body is great however.
I noticed that it moisturised even the driest patches of my skin, and is very light feeling, despite being an oil.
Because it is so runny, however, the nozzle hole thing that it comes out of tends to get a little messy and oily - but the occasional wash with a little bit of soap easily fixes this.

Adore this!

I use this each night and find it does so much more for my skin than any super thick and heavy body butter can.
Pros:
-Nourishes and hydrates my body so well and always leaves my skin feeling so lovely and soft by morning
-Gives skin a really pretty, healthy looking sheen- i love the look of this on my pins and shoulders once applied
-Not at all greasy or heavy feeling, and absorbs instantly on me
-Pleasantly quite different to the regular palmers scent which I am sick of. To me, this smells predominately of roses with only a very subtle hint of cocoa.

Will be happily repurchasing :)

great

I love this product, I use it nightly before I go to bed on selected areas that need improvement.

To all the people who complain about the packaging.. where I buy it from, it comes in a 'new' pump bottle, so I think they have changed it recently and maybe the new packaging it only available in some areas.

But the new pump bottle is great, so happy with it.

I just use this as a nightly treatment, because i don't really like wearing body oils during the day especially in the middle of summer.

Great moisturiser

This is an affordable and worthwhile purchase. I don't really have much scars so I cannot comment on scar reduction, but it has kept my skin beautifully soft. The best thing about it is the nice smell that lingers on after application. The only thing for Palmer's to consider is that the flip top is not very easy to use as the oil leaks all around this. Something like the bio oil's top may be more convenient.

Non-greasy and works well on scarring

I've been using this for about a month now and my skin has improved quite a lot overall. I bought it to use for my acne scarring which it's definitely helped with but i started to use it all over my body and on my lips because it's such a great moisturiser. It's a great product for the price and size of the bottle. In my opinion i prefer it over bio oil.

Nice soft Oil

During the hotter/ warmer weather I like to switch to body oils for moisturising mainly because they are lighter and don't evaporate as quickly as body moisturisers.
I was pleased to receive the Palmers Cocoa Butter formula skin oil- I have the rosehip version. The rosehip version still has the slight palmers cocoa smell but has a stronger smell of rose hip with a smell/ floral fragrance which I love in this skin oil. I have to admit I can find this oil smell very strong and afterwards the smell / fragrance of this product will remain strong and powerful on the skin. (So make sure you like the smell before using / purchasing).
I quite like the container- it is a flip top lid with a small hole in the top that allows for the oil to come out. I find the oil in this product very very runny and such you really only need a small amount. I find the best way for this oil is to use it when your skin is still slightly wet- at the end of the shower step away from the steam of water and use this liberally. It means you use less product because the water helps it disperse over your body and locks the moisture into your skin better, absorbing more thoroughly.
I find when I use it on completely dry skin, it doesn't sink in properly and stays greasy.
I now use this religiously after every showers and always get compliments on my skin and smell.
This oil is also perfect to add a few (2-3 capfuls) into a running bath. Afterwards my skin is hydrated and silky beyond belief, never breaking out.
My skin feels better and softer more than anything. I cant really say ive noticed a decrease in stretch marks or skin tone- but I believe it has great benefits including vitamin E, and the rose hip oil(known for their amazing benefits). Maybe longer term this might have more impact. But it doesn't contain mineral oil and makes my skin shine! Its simple with this If you like oils and how they feel on your skin try this product- it will be your favourite- if you don't and find them greasy/ too strong/ shinny, don't try this product!

Best in Beauty 2012

I got this product at beautorium this year and was really happy that I did! Can't remember if I did review this prior to Best in Beauty but happy to do another since I like the product.

First of all, the scent is beautiful. It's a powdery rose scent that just gives the whole room a wonderful smell when applied. Being over 30 weeks pregnant, I was looking for something to help prevent stretch marks and couldn't believe it when I managed to snag this at beautorium. I apply it to my abdomen and rub the oil into my skin. It really makes skin supple and smooth as well as beautifully scented. I've heard that it's great as a hair treatment too (next thing I must try) Recommended!

I got this product through beautorium and i LOVE it so far. THANK YOU BH. I have these horrible acne on my back and tried many products. Some of them worked but I also ended up having more pimples or dry skin. I have been using this product for a week, 3 times a day and I CAN see the difference already. No more pimples, scars are fading away- and it even lightens my dark elbows. This product absorbs into my skin very quick as if my skin is very thirsty for this oil. Yes, this is oil, but it does not leave my skin sticky or greasy. Try it, you'll love it!

Best in Beauty 2012

I previously reviewed this product in the cocoa butter variant and only gave this 4/5 stars as I wasn’t fond of the cocoa butter scent. I have since tried the Rosehip variant, which has a soft rose scent that’s not too overpowering and fell in love. What I love about this oil is its light, running consistency which makes it easy to apply and absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling sticky. It leaves a nice sheen on the skin with a slightly slippery texture and leaves my skin feel soft and supple. Previously my skin was quite dry, itchy, rough and also scaly but now after using this everyday after my shower for 3 months followed by my usual moistersier, it has improved my skin significantly. My legs in particular are a lot more hydrated, smoother and healthier looking. I’m loving this product and have already stocked up several bottles as I think I may have found my perfect body oil. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves beauty oils or has dehydrated skin as this product really gives results. No more dry, scaly and itchy skin for me.

Wonderful product, a marked improvement in overall skin tone

Am into my second bottle of this amazing product and still a huge fan. I have noticed increasingly the dark spots, acne scars on my face have faded considerably! Very soothing to apply on my eyes! I have also noticed that when my skin is damaged due to dryness or any small cuts, its does not burn like it tends to do with other moisturizers which is a big plus from me! It does look oily soon as you apply it but soaks in quickly and is perfect for my combination skin type. I just adore the rosehip fragrance too! My skin didn't break out into pimples which I was afraid of being an oil based product.

Amazing product but not very moisturizing.

I was very happy with palmers skin therapy oil. I used the product on my face after cleansing twice a day and saw a marked improvement in the acne scars on my face. Skin tone was also evened out. I saw no difference in theappearance of wrinkles under my eyes but it felt soothing to gently massage the oil under my eyes. While my skin looked a tad oilysoon after applying, it soaked in pretty quickly after applying and in about 30 mins I actually felt my skin was a bit too dry! It smells really good in the Rosehip fragrance. I wish it was easier to get the oil out as it is a bit messy to use. I didnt break out into pimples was a really good product to use. Will definetly buy it again.

Great for the whole body

I love using this for my body, i wouldn't recommend using it on your face as it would be a bit too oily, but for the rest of your body it easily absorbs into the skin and doesn't feel oily afterwards. It smells amazing and really moisturises your skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple for the whole day, i use it after a shower! It's great value for money and the bottle can last quite a few applications.

Smells DIVINE

I bought this when I actually went hunting for bio oil and I must admit that I find it does pretty much the same job on my skin. I like to apply it all over my body when I get out of the shower. It's not too "heavy", doesn't feel oily or anything but my skin is nice and soft after using it. And it smells SOOO GOOD!

My only gripe is that the bottle leaks! Oil squeezes up under the cap too when I use it and I'm left with these little oil rings wherever I set the bottle down... Beware if packing it for a trip!!

Divinely Moisturising...

I have only been using this product this Winter. Before I tried it I thought the smell would be far too cloying. Fortunately I was wrong! I usually apply it after my shower while my skin is still damp. That way it kind of turns into a "milky" consistency and soaks in really quickly - which makes it a far quicker way to get ready in the morning than my usual body butter routine.

It's moisturising qualities far, far exceeded my expectations. I cannot wait to try out its sister product in Rosehip.

Hydrating oil

I’ve been using this Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil in the cocoa butter variant for the past 2-3 weeks and my skin is loving it. My legs are particularly dry and itchy, more so recently because of the cold weather/heating and was feeling and looking dehydrated and scaly! After using this daily after a shower for a few weeks, I have noticed my skin is a lot more hydrated, smoother and healthy looking. It’s quite a lightweight, runny oil that’s fast-absorbing and surprisingly non-greasy/sticky (it just leaves a nice sheen on the skin with a slightly slippery texture). I previously tried Bio-oil and wasn’t that fond of it. I much prefer this Palmers one as the scent is not only better (whilst I’m not crazy about cocoa butter, the smell is pleasant enough) and the lighter consistency makes it easy to apply. I like this product and recommend it, but being a person who loves nice smelling products, and because I know there are so many more beauty oils out in the market, I will probably try another brand once I am done with this bottle. My search for the perfect beauty oil continues.

Gorgeous Product

I received this in Rose Hip Fragrance as part of my Glosscars Prize....Thanks BH :)
This product really surprised me!! I firstly was not looking forward to the scent as I am not a fan of Cocoa Butter fragrance but this was more of a soft rose scent which I thought was lovely.
It is easy to use and soaks in really well leaving skin soft and moisturised and suprisingly not greasy or oily.
I was happy to use this before going to bed even as it soaks straight in.
A lovely product I will no doubt purchase:)

Better than Bio Oil! IMO

I am currently pregnant so have tried a few products on the market to help counteract stretch marks. When one bottle runs out I tend to buy something different to get a good idea of what's out there.

I think it's really difficult during pregnancy to truly assess how well these products work at preventing stretch marks, especially since this is my first pregnancy. Yes I have developed some stretch marks but would these be worse if I hadn't been using any creams or oils? Probably. So I have to say that in terms of the product itself - packing, texture, smell etc etc - I actually do prefer this to Bio Oil, which I find great but really messy.

I will continue to use this post-pregnancy in the hope it will help to fade the stretch marks I have developed.

Exceeded expectations

I thought this would be similar to Bio Oil so I was preparing to be underwhelmed, but I was suprised to find it's really lovely! Some skin oils (like Bio Oil) leave my skin itchy and irritated, but this one does as it claims. I am aware this oil serves many purposes, but the main reason I use it it to soothe my dry skin, particularly on my legs and feet. I also use it to massage my feet when they get sore. It has a soft, floral smell and is a joy to use. Would recommend it to anyone!

It works!

This product claims to help improve the appearance of Scars, stretch marks, dry/damaged skin, uneven skin ton & aging skin.
I primarily bought this product hoping it will diminish my dark purple stretch marks. I am almost 3/4 of the way through my 60ml bottle (applying twice a day everyday) and am slowly bt gradually seeing my marks lighten. The scars won't completely go away - thats a given, but this product sure does help lighten its appearances :)
The oil is fantastic as it is not too greasy & is easily absorbed into the skin leaving no oily residues.
This product is very moisturising which is a plus for those with dry skin although I probably won't recommend using it for the face like the packaging says as it may end up being too oily.
As far as uneven skin tones & aging skin goes, I am yet to see any improvements.
Only downside is, despite it's cute packaging, the bottle cap is a little impractical as the small opening usually results in oil seeping down the sides making both your hands and the bottle feeling oily. It can get a little messy sometimes and I'm sure no-one likes to see their products go to waste.
Overall, a fantastic buy. Considering I haven't tried bio-oil before, this product is highly recommended & will definitely repurchase.

Great for minimizing scars and marks

I have quite bad scarring on my back from acne so was looking for a product I could apply daily to help them fade. This seemed to work much better than the Bio Oil I had used in the past - it absorbed much faster leaving no greasy residue and I noticed the marks fading within just a few weeks. I am now almost at the end of my second bottle and will keep using it for a few more months until the scars have completely gone but there is a big difference already. This gas been a lifesaver for me as it means I'm no longer too embarassed to wear singlets and scrappy dresses.

Skin Therapy Oil

I have grown quite fond of skin, hair and body oils of late and was keen to try out the Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil that I accumulated in my beauty stash earlier this year. Boasting a rich blend of 'skin-loving' botanical extracts and essential oils, it helps to repair damaged skin, improve skin tone, reduce the signs of premature ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles and even targets scars and stretch marks.

Presented in the typical Palmer's packaging, adorning their recognisable logo, the 60ml plastic squeezable bottle features a flip-top lid to secure the contents, preventing wastage and a tiny opening that ensures even distribution.

This treatment caters for both the face and body, but I personally find it a bit too rich for my face because I have a naturally oily complexion, however I absolutely love slathering it on my body after a shower in place of my usual moisturiser. The first thing I noticed when I opened boasts the indicative artificial fragrance I always associate with Palmer’s products. Even though the floral scent is quite subtle, I still find it slightly obnoxious and would prefer an oil with a more natural aroma. Thankfully, any scent that transfers to the skin fades quickly after application. The formula is lightweight, rapidly penetrating my skin and absorbing without any sticky remnants, leaving it feeling soft, silky smooth to touch and adequately replenished. I only need 2-3 drops to treat my whole body, or if I mix it with my moisturiser, to enhance the benefits, then 1-2 drops is more than enough.

It’s a good value, extremely versatile, multi-tasking oil that has many uses; it’s effective as a massage oil, ideal for adding to bathwater when I need a relaxing pamper session to soak any cares away. I utilise it after shaving, to lock in moisture, keeping my skin soft, smooth and void of unsightly flakiness. It supports hand and cuticle care and works wonders to relieve sore, cracked heels and soothe tired, overworked feet. It even tames my frizzy flyaways and leaves my hair looking sleek and polished with an all over, non-greasy shine.

WOW, all that from just one product! Sounds pretty good huh? Well it is! Other than the pesky smell, this oil is actually quite remarkable and would be a handy addition to anyone's beauty kit. For skin that is always nourished and perfectly hydrated, along with additional benefits for achieving optimal skin health and restoring a more youthful-looking appearance and a price accessible to all budgets, you can't afford not to try it!

Glosscars

Well I’ve already reviewed this product a few times in the past but I’m writing another review for the glosscars. This product has some good and bad points and I’ll cover all those. Firstly I’ll start with what you notice first – the packaging! I didn’t really like it because right on the top of the bottle was a tiny open whole which was so small it was hard to get the oil out and then when you did it ended up running over the top of the bottle and after a few uses the whole bottle was covered in oil! As you would know with oil this isn’t really something that you can easily wash off (and anyway I wouldn’t bother as it keeps happening each time you use it) and the most annoying part was the bottle would then leave a small outline of oil on the bench – so be careful where you store it! I don’t mind the scent of rosehip but I think I would prefer the coca variant as I love all other cocoa smelling products. As for what this product is meant to do, well I didn’t really see any improvements of my stretch marks and scars and I was very consistent and persistent applying and massaging in the oil every night till my bottle ran out (about 4 months)! That said though it’s not a totally bad product…because it’s a great moisturiser! The oil is actually really easy to massage into the skin and is quickly absorbed which left my dry skin really hydrated and soft. So definitely something to think about if you have really dry skin! I would recommend only using this product at night time as it can leave your skin a bit greasy looking (especially on the face) and can transfer onto your clothes….that said though the instructions do say you should use it 3 times a day, so perhaps my usage wasn’t enough for me to see any vast improvements in my scars/stretchmarks, and they have just faded a lot over time anyway so it may just be a fact that no oil or cream or treatment can work a complete miracle and the truth is they will always be there just lightly. I would still consider repurchasing this oil as it was amazing on my dry skin and also reasonably good value for money as a little goes a long way. I also believe it may be of more use on fresh scars/stretchmarks etc if applied frequently and regularly, rather than old ones which obviously can not disappear no matter what! I’d definitely recommend this product for super dry skin that’s for sure

Equally as good

Bio-oil or Palmer's oil? I love them both! I think they both are equally as good. I use bio-oil for after shower and overnight but as palmer's smells so great and dries so quickly, i use it whenever i can. In love with my body oils!

Oils ain't Oils!

I was disappointed when I tried the oil, to me it was just another oil. It didn't live up to its name and felt no different to a baby oil.

Luxe for less!

Love this as a cheaper alternative to Bio-Oil, although I don't think it's as powerful as Bio. I only have minor stretch marks and find that this product has worked wonders. MIght not be as good for ladies with bad scarring. I've only used it on my stretch mark spots but might start using it as an all over. However I do find it is quite oily so probably need to have time to let it dry before getting dressed!

Pregnancy MUST HAVE!

I have been applying this after every shower since the day I found out I was pregnant, I am now 7 1/2 months pregnant and still no sign of stretch marks! Great for preventing stretch marks!
Very happy customer. When I go for a massage, I take it with me and ask them to use it instead of their oils. My skin feels and looks so good ever since I've started using it. Also easier to apply than Bio Oil.

not for dry skin

I tried this product because I thought it would be good for my dry skin. But by the end of the day my skin was dry and itchy again. I think by making this fast absorbing, they made it too fast absorbing for those with dry skin.

The best!

I'd been using Bio Oil for a while and seeing only very minimal results while using quite a lot of product, so I've switched to this body oil and I love it. It does take a bit longer to soak in than other oils, but the massage is lovely. It has a light scent that I really like, too. It's super moisturising and you can get dressed straight after applying it. I cannot recommend this product enough.

Good but not great

I'd heard rave reviews about this product so I thought I would give it a go on some stretch marks that I've got. I've been using it for 4 weeks now and haven't really seen any improvement but I will use the whole bottle and hope something happens. I also found that it doesn't absorb into the skin at all and leaves a greasy residue which isn't great under clothes. Although I have found that my skin is a lot softer and much more smooth which is nice.

however, i do need to point out that the bottle top isnt very convenient, as it allowed the oil to leak every now and then.

Love the sheen it gives my skin, doesn't look oily or leave a coating. You don't even need much, I thought I would have made a much bigger dent in the bottle by now!

not so great

I bought the rose hip scented one but i found it didn't have much smell at all.
This didn't sink in in minutes like the bottle said but the light oily film it left on my skin wasn't greasy or slippery. The oil was very light and liquidy (where the bio oil is thicker and heavier) so watch out when pouring it out you don't want to slip over. i thought with this being such a light formula a little would go a long way but i didnt think this was the case, although it does spread easily.
I haven't noticed any change in my stretch marks or scar.

Absorbs beautifully and softens skin

I'm not keen on applying oil to my skin as I have enough oil on my T-zone as it is, but sometimes the rest of my face needs extra attention during winter, so I decided to give this a go as I love Palmers Cocoa Butter products. I was very pleasantly surprised at how light this oil is and how easily it absorbs into the skin and doesn't leave a residue. It also leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft. I am also using it on the back of my hands as they are very dry and it seems to be alleviating the dryness a little, though I probably should be applying it more regularly to get full benefit. The rosehip fragrance is so light it is barely noticeable. This product is so gentle, it would be suitable on all skin types. Good value, $9.95 for 60 ml (a little goes a long way).

Great at hydrating!

I began using this product with high hopes of it reducing the appearance of the many stretch marks and scars covering my legs. The first thing about this product that stood out to me was the packaging. Yes the little bottle it comes in is rather cute, but it’s not highly practical. It has a tiny whole which you are to get the oil from which sounds like it wouldn’t be messy but in reality it is. While trying to get enough out I ended up with the oil running over the top and eventually making it all over the bottle so now the whole bottle has ended up oily.
I received this as part of the trial team and when I first used this I was so disappointed it was rosehip fragranced not cocoa. I’ve since found out this oil also comes in cocoa though which is great news! Apart from the issue of getting the oil out of the bottle easily this oil is very easy to use. I found it rubs into my skin well and is reasonably absorbed, leaving my skin highly hydrated. I prefer to use this oily nightly as I do find it leaves my skin looking a bit greasy until it is fully absorbed and I don’t want any oil getting onto my good clothes.
Unfortunately however I did not find this product particularly great for skin problems. I have been using it daily for 3 months now and I have seen minor improvements but I am not convinced have not just been due to time anyway. I have just re-read the instructions and it does say to use it three times daily so perhaps daily for 3 months is not enough to see much improvement. However even though I don’t think the marks improved much I did find my skin is much more hydrated then before, as well as more soft and smooth.
I still think I would consider purchasing this oil as it is one of those things that needs a lot of time to be of any use and I also found it fantastic for use on my dry skin. It is also great value for money as with any oils, a little goes a long way!

Not as great as I thought

I found it didn't absorb at all but sort of laid on my skin. Used it on my face and - a warning - don't put it anywhere near your eyes! I have a scar above my eye and although it's above my brow I found the oil tended to migrate south. Boy does it sting!
I also used it on the rest of my face and although it was great at moisturising I found I had to wipe it off before using makeup.

Godsend!

I’ve always been one of those people’s that reads a whole of reviews before buying a product but never bothered to leave feedback in return but with this product I just had to.

THIS IS A MIRACLE OIL.

I have only be using it for 3 weeks and already seeing results. I apply the oil 3 times daily without spending too much time rubbing it in because the oil soaks up quiet quick. Its help fade my burn scar from 1 year ago, my stretch marks are starting look less noticeable and my pigmentation spots on my back and stomach are also blending back to its natural colour. I have struggled and let’s not forget spent a lot of money trying to rid myself of these 3 issues for quiet sometime and then I stumbled upon this wonder item and have to share it with the world. Not only has it helped me with my issues my skin also looks really radiant and glowing.

I’m not too sure about putting the oil on my face as I’ve always been told to keep oils away and the product could do with better packaging as you start noticing oil marks from where you have put the bottle down but I have to say for $15, you have to give this a go! The smell is not the nicest but they also have the product with rose hip which I will definitely try next time.

I will definitely be back to give an updated 

Palmers Body Oil

I thought the bottle was thin, cheap plastic & can be improved upon for application. The oil itself was nice, a little goes a long way & it is very moisturising without leaving skin greasy. It did seem to help with a slight fading of stretch marks, but I would need longer use of the product to really see any results. I wouldn't use this on my face personally - only the body.

Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil

My favourite thing about Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil is that it's so light. It sinks in within minutes leaving my skin oh so soft and silky without any oily residue. Plus a small amount goes a long way!

The product claimed to be rosehip scented - but to me it smelt like baby product (fades soon enough though).

As for strechmarks, they faded slightly after two weeks of use and applying three times a day. I found it more effective then BioOil but its a challenge to find the time to apply three times a day. Perhaps it could be more concentrated, as like I said, three times a day is impractical.

The packaging could be greatly improved however - it is pretty flimsy (I wouldn't trust it not to leak). If the packaging was improved, I would rate it four stars.

I would purchase this again in summer, as I find its not moistursing enough for the winter.

Disclaimer: I received this as apart of the BH Trial Team.

At least it's moisturising!

I was super excited when I found out that I was trialing this for the Trial Team, because I’ve never tried an oil which targets scars and stretch marks, though I’ve always wanted to. I have quite a few small scars on my arms and stretch marks on my legs which I am very eager to be rid of.

Having said that, I was slightly disappointed in Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil, because to be honest I haven’t seen any difference in the appearance of my scars or stretch marks.

I applied the oil everyday (although the directions do say to apply it three times a day, but who has time for that?) after I showered. It smells lovely, and was easy to apply. It did run a bit when applied, but that can be expected when using an oil. One thing that I really liked about it was the fact that it absorbed into my skin very quickly because it’s so light. I’m the type of person who definitely doesn’t have the patience to wait for a moisturiser to dry, so that was great.

Overall, I think that if this oil was promoted as just a moisturising product, I would love it. But because it was marketed as a product to improve the appearance of my scars and stretch marks, I feel that it didn’t live up to the claims that it made, hence the three-star rating.
My skin does feel very soft and smooth after using the oil, but my stretch marks and scars have not improved in appearance at all. Maybe if I continue using the oil they will improve, but I honestly doubt it. I don’t think that I will buy this product again.

A little Palmer's magic

Palmer's Skin therapy oil is fabulous, I'm always a little skeptical of products that claim to rid your skin of marks and blemishes but I have to say I am duly impressed with the results after a short period of time. Always so envious of women with flawless skin, I think I may have found their secret. I'm not sure how practical having to put it on 3 times a day but I suppose it comes down to how effective you would like the treatment to be. I'm not as sold on the packaging and would like a pump pack especially as your hands get oily and this transfers to bottle which of course ends up on the benchtop. I have some scarring on my knees from a sports injury and have particularly concentrated on that and the oil has definitely made a difference. The fragrance was nice, not too overpowering and overall I have to say I'm impressed including on the price.

Pretty good!

I love love love body oils and I thought I'd give this a go because seemed like a cheaper alternative to Bio-Oil.

The packaging, as a few others have mentioned, is probably not the most convenient one for the product. It is a good size and everything but I'm not really a fan of flip-top lids for oil. It does run down the side of the bottle if you're not careful so what I used to do was tip it directly into my palm or onto the area that I was going to put it on. So not hold it from a great distance and pour it onto your skin (thereby reducing the chances of it running down the side of the bottle). I did manage to solve all these packaging issues by transferring into a tiny empty spray bottle (it came in one of those travel packs of containers that you can get to transfer products into before you go on holiday etc) and since then, I've just been spraying it on and haven't had any problems.

So, onto the product itself. It has a nice smell that's not overpowering and has kind of a sweet scent to it. It has the consistency of most body oils (probably a bit thinner though) and is absorbed really really quickly. I use it after I shower and you don't need to work much at all to rub it in. And it doesn't get all over your clothes either which is a huge plus!

My only criticisms would be that while it is very moisturising, I can't really feel it on my skin for a long period of time. I'm not sure if this is because it's absorbed really quickly or not but if I touch my skin a few hours after I've put it on, it doesn't feel like I have anything on. Also, I have no seen any improvements in scars or stretch marks after using almost a whole bottle of this so if you're buying this simply for those skin problems, maybe don't bother.

But a lovely moisturiser and body oil overall!

Great alternative to expensive oils!

I have a few stretch marks on my hips and have been applying this religiously, however I have yet to see any improvement (then again, it’s only been two weeks!) It did leave my skin super soft though and the oil absorbed quickly without leaving a greasy residue. I did also try applying it to my face at night (replacing my beloved rosehip oil) and it left my skin super moisturized and smooth the next day. However after a few days, little white heads started appearing which does not surprise me seeing as I do have oily skin. I LOVE the rosehip scent; it’s floral and sweet, but not overpowering. The thing that I dislike most about this product is the terribly designed packaging. After you pour some oil out, the excess dribbles down the side of the bottle. Not only is the bottle then oily, but once you put it down onto a table – it gets the table oily too! I wish it came in a pump or spray bottle, it would be a far better way of storing the product. I would say that is a cheaper alternative to products like Rosehip oil, however the quality is not as great. I can see this being a great product to use just after scars appear or as a preventative measure against stretch marks, rather than on marks that are years old.

Lovely for thirsty skin

I was curious to see how well this oil worked on some old scars and pigmentation. The bottle itself is quite small and comes with a flip top lid which seals over a small opening. The scent is really lovely, more like rose water than the herbal smell I associate with RHO. Initially it took some getting used to when applying as it was easy to have too much product dripping out if I wasn't careful. The oil is quite light in appearance and texture and is absorbed fairly quickly. I used this over a number of weeks and I found it improved the appearance of my skin and older scars although it didn't fade the scars completely. I am going to continue using it on my scars and pigmentation as I feel it has helped slightly to even out my skin-tone and I love it's smoothing properties. I'm also interested to see if it needs more time to help fade older scars. I liked using a small amount on my face, neck and decolletage at night and more often on hands and body or as required.

Softly

I have been using the Palmers Butter Cocoa Skin Therapy Oil as a part of my beauty regime for the past two weeks, and because it’s my first ever experience of a body oil, initially I didn’t know what to expect.

The product is presented in a clear 60ml bottle featuring a flip-top lid, which makes it simple to handle, however, you should be cautious when dispersing the oil, because as I soon discovered, quite a lot of product come out with the initial squeeze. The formulation is of an even consistency, extremely lightweight and non-greasy, which I found to be pleasant when applied to my skin. I love the fragrance of the oil, which imparts a light, delicate rosehip scent that I don’t feel is at all overbearing.

The Skin Therapy Oil is infused with Vitamin E, an added bonus, because it is beneficial for improving the appearance of scars, stretch marks, dry skin and even reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It is designed to be used on your face as well as your body, so it’s the perfect all-rounder. Another suggested use for the oil, is to squirt a small amount into your bath water, hence making it a fantastic deep moisturising skin treatment or as an instant ‘pick-me-up’ to stimulate the senses, during a relaxing pampering session, to unwind after a long, exhausting day.

I only needed to disperse a few drops of the oil, which was an adequate amount for my whole face and neck area. When applied to my skin, I noticed the oil absorbed instantly, leaving no oily residue and it instantly softened and smoothed my skin while providing superior moisturisation. I tried massaging a few drops of the oil onto some of my stubborn stretch marks, as I personally have quite a few (shh) lol. Although, considering I have only been applying the treatment for two weeks, I can only claim that I have noticed just a slight difference in the appearance of the stretch marks. However, the skin in that region feels much softer and some of my existing skin damage has shown signs of improvement, now appearing healthier.

I understand though, that you can’t expect to achieve ultimate results, such as distinct changes to stubborn stretch marks, from any skin care product, in such a short period of time. Personally, I would have preferred a longer trial period, to determine if I would have experienced greater results with more obvious improvements, if I were able to continue using it for at least three months.

Thank You to Beauty Heaven for the opportunity to trial this product.

Very hydrating at least :)

I didn’t really like the packaging of this oil, as the hole was so tiny it was hard to get out and it ended up running over the top and eventually the whole bottle has ended up all oily. I must say when I first used it I was quite disappointed that it was rosehip fragranced not cocoa! Not that there is anything wrong with the fragrance – it’s actually quite nice, it’s just I love the cocoa butter smell of all the other Palmer’s products and was quite looking forward to a chocolate smelling oil. In terms of my stretch marks and scars, well I didn’t really see any improvements, but I found this oil was a great moisturiser for my dry skin. I started using it all over my legs to hydrate them and it was absorbed reasonably quickly leaving them soft and highly moisturised. I also tried a bit on a scar on my face and it did seem to help that one a little bit. I do prefer to only use this oil at night time though as it can get a bit oily onto clothes and can make your skin look a bit greasy till it soaks in properly, especially on your face. I’m wondering whether the time period was too short for any scars or stretch marks to improve so I will continue trying it. At this point I’m not sure I would purchase this oil though I do think it is very good value for money as a little goes a long way! I’d definitely recommend it for treating really dry skin but personally I didn’t have a lot of success with stretchmarks/scars, yet anyway.

Sweet smelling and smooth results

I’m a big fan of anything Palmers so I might be a little bias when I say how much I enjoyed this product…

Its a very soothing oil when applied that rubs in incredibly well. Not as sticky and messy as baby oil which i have used. The product is multi-purpose good for an after shaving/waxing solution and really helps hydrate tired skin.
The rosehip adds a lovely scent to the oil and we all know how good rosehip oil is good for the skin and at reducing marks. I used this oil on my thighs to see if it would help odd marks and bumps and so far i cant really tell a difference but my skin is a lot softer and more smooth.
The bottle (60ml) is small and compact so is easy enough to carry around with you wherever you go. Oil can be a very tricky product to package as it is very runny and does tend to get all over the bottle. The top has a little raised lip to try and make pouring easier but you still have to be extremely careful when using the bottle, maybe a pump type or an eye drop lid would work better.
Its a great price for a multi-use product and I would defiantly consider buying it again but maybe the packaging could be improved.

I use a pre-cleansing oil on my face, oil conditioner for my hair and rose hip oil on my face at night so naturally I was very keen to try out the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula skin therapy oil! I do have quite noticeable stretch marks on my hips and thighs so I decided to concentrate on those areas. The packaging was very simple and directed to use up to 3 times a day, unfortunately I am only able to use it morning and night as my job just wont allow beauty rituals throughout the day! It's quite a handy little bottle which I just flipped up the top and squirt the oil out and rub into my palms then onto my hips and thighs. I love the fragrance, it's quite subtle and delicate and doesn't interfere with my perfume or body sprays. I found the product non greasy and sinks in well onto my dry skin. As much as I had such high hopes I have not found ANY reduction in the appearance of my stretch marks but I do love this product so I have decided to rate it a 3/5 it's a great moisturising product but unfortunately for me didn't reduce any scarring. I'm halfway through the little bottle so maybe when I get to the end maybe I might see a difference? I would consider re-purchasing this product but I wouldn't run out and buy it.

Okay........Trial Team Reveiw.

I found that the packaging of this product was terrible!! Had to tip the bottle to get it out the little hole, and it dribbles all down the bottle!! So a 1/5. A pump would be better, or a spray perhaps.

The rosehip oil scent isn't at all strong or over powering which I liked.

So far, using 3 times a day, my scars haven't faded, and stretch marks haven't faded either. However were I have been applying it my skin is super moisturised!! But you need to give it a bit of time to sink into the skin.........

Multi-purpose must-have…

Although I don’t have stretch marks, I do have scars in various locations, aged skin in general, and a pretty severely sun-damaged chest area. I’ve been faithfully applying this rosy scented oil to all my trouble spots for just under two weeks, and am heartened by the effect it’s having. The oil itself is surprisingly light, not at all greasy or slimy, and the cute little lightweight plastic bottle fits perfectly into my makeup bag – important, because if you’re serious about working on scars and damaged skin, you’ll need to carry it around with you. I’m enjoying the rosehip fragrance as I’m not keen on the smell of cocoa butter as a rule, but if given a choice, would prefer it to be a little less intense. No problem at night, in fact it’s quite delightful to go to sleep enveloped in a rosy perfume cloud, but as it’s an oil, the scent does tend to linger and overpower a little when used throughout the day, and the more so if you’re treating several areas at the one time. The dispensing hole is tiny, so I was able to control the quantity easily, and I think the amount you use and the frequency is the key to how successful this product can be – small regular applications are best to maintain the treatment, without feeling too slicky. If you’re too heavy handed (as I was initially) then the product takes a while to sink in, whereas I believe a thin well-massaged film is all that’s required. Still, even when I applied too much, I didn’t notice any staining of my clothing, which is amazing given it appears to be a blend of at least two oils.

My scars are quite old, but they do appear a little less obvious, and one in particular used to get itchy at various times - since I’ve been using the Skin Therapy Oil though I haven’t had to scratch at all, which is a bonus (not a good look!). I’ve also been using it on my face instead of a night cream - my skin has never felt so soft, and no clogged pores or increase in shiny areas the next day. This was an interesting experiment as I fully expected to wake up with my t-zone awash with oil, but there was barely a film on the surface next morning, just baby soft skin. My hands are loving it too – usually if I miss just one hand cream application, the red creases start to re-appear around my knuckles, but after applying this oil three times a day (no hand cream), there’s not a trace of redness or dry skin, and my nails have a soft pearly sheen. My chest area was the worst - blotchy, with small shiny white bumps intermingled with tanned leathery areas (yuck!), all from too much sunbaking and sunburn in my youth (you’ve been warned ladies). Even in winter after months of being covered up, I could clearly see a tank-top tide mark. After applying the oil thrice daily, the skin texture is smoother, the colour contrast with the rest of my body is less noticeable, and overall, the whole area looks less like it would make a good pair of boots. Delighted.

I’m also glad to see this product comes in a larger size, given the way I’m powering through it (only one third left). In my particular case, it’s not what I’d call an overnight miracle for seriously scarred skin, but definitely a very promising long term use product - I’ll certainly be giving it more chances to heal my damaged bits. Thanks Palmer’s & bh :-)

my scars are now blended in!

I have a number of stretch marks and a few scars around my arms. I applied the Skin Therapy Oil three times a day to begin with and then twice a day, morning and night, to the affect areas. I found that although the marks didn't disappear, my scars are now blended into my skin and aren't as noticeable as before. You'd have to know where to look to notice them. Although I don't like the smell of rosehip oil, I found the smell of Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil wasn't overpowering. A bonus effect of this was it helped with some mozzie bites from summer and I didn't need to use as much moisturising cream because my skin was well hydrated. All in all, a great product, not a miracle cure, but it does what it says it will!

A few issues!

I was really excited to trial and review this product, and ever so excited to receive it in the mail. I took it straight home and followed the directions to a tea.
I have a few stretch marks and scars, and took to them with the Skin Therapy Oil three times a day hoping and praying that I had at last found my wonder product that I could be proud enough to buy on a regular basis and feel confident enough that it has worked for me.
This was not to be the total case. I had no problems with the oil itself, in fact I found a little went a really far way, and value for $$$$ in that respect is ideal. As for the things that it claims to do, well im not quite so convinced of that yet.
Im always willing to keep using a product to the very end of a bottle to see if the full results I crave will be there.
I was lookin more into some healing of a motorbike burn that I received earlier last month. I have quite a nasty scar from the experience, and was looking for it to fade down and soften, whilst the scar itself has softened down, the redness is till there. As for my stretch marks....well I don't think anything will shift those unfortunately but my tummy skin too is so much softer, so pretty much I find Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil is living up to half its statements so far.
I will add that I have been rubbing the excess ouil into the back of my hands as its winter now and they do get very dry through these months, and they do feel and look great.
The smell of this product is pleasant and non overpowering and really quite fresh. Very nice to place onto my skin straight out of the shower, as I find it soaks into my skin so much quicker, then when I was applying it throughout the day.
The size of the bottle is quite generous as you really don't use too much at all. its great to take along with you anywhere as it just fits into your handbag without taking up alot of room.

Palmers Skin Therapy Oil

I have the beginnings of stretch marks around my but and hip area, a little pigmentation on my arms and acne scars on my face. So when i was offered to try the product, I was hoping for a miracle. Although I really havent been using this product long enough to comment fully on its effectiveness, I have found the appearance of the stretchmarks etc have improved, and I'm hoping they will continue to do so! The oil has a very light silky texture and glides on easily to the skin. I've found its less thick than other oils (like olive oil or rose hip oil) and more like a body oil, which means you can use it on large areas aswell as focus on particular areas of scarring. I've found that the oil absorbs into my skin okay, but it is obvious that it is still there half an hour after I apply it so I don't think its particularly fast absorbing. However it doesnt leave a greasy sheen on the skin but rather a more radiant, even glow. The smell, rosehip fragrance, is quite nice and to me smells like turkish delight (they also offer the classic cocoa butter frangrance). The packaging is average and flimsy, and also seems really leak prone but that hasnt happened to me! The oil itself is moisturising, nourishing and leaves the skin silky smooth :) Overall I do really like this product, however I think it is a little early to tell just how effective it really is.

Decent product

I'm always skeptical about products that claim to help with scarring so I didn't think I'd find this oil very useful. Especially because I already have oily skin! However I do get the occasional dry patches and scar so I diligently used this on them and was glad to notice that the dry patches improved at least :) It's hard to tell whether there is a huge improvement in scarring over only a few days but it does seem like this oil helps improve the appearance of skin in these areas at least.
This isn't the fastest absorbing product so make sure it's rubbed in properly and you don't attempt to wipe anything over the skin straight away as it does sit on the surface for a little while still.
The packaging can get a little messy as you have to tip the bottle to get product out and because it is slightly runny you have to be careful where it goes as I tended to get more around the edge of the little squirter than on my finger/cotton bud! This is missing the wonderful cocoa butter scent, but that's not to say that it doesn't smell nice still. It's a light, clean scent that isn't offensive or too strong.
A little goes a long way and for it's price I'll stick with it and see whether this helps my scars in the long term. For hydration purposes though I think I'd stick to my normal moisturiser that doesn't leave any residue on the skin surface.

RTT: Dryness no more!

My skin type: DRY, uneven and patchy

This handy 60 ML pop cap bottle made it quite easy for me to dispense my desired amount and the liquid oil formula made it very easy to directly apply onto my body with no difficulty. The rose-hip scent was very pleasant and I felt as though the scent lingered for a couple of hours which did not bother me.

I personally suffer from dehydrated and uneven skin tone and after trialing this oil for about 7 - 10 I have noticed a dramatic difference in the texture of my skin and also the appearance of my dry areas around my face! I usually have dry and irritating patches across my face and after using day and night on clean skin, my face has definitely become much more smoother and a lot more brighter!

I simply dot the oil on areas which need attention and then massage my face with the oil stimulating blood flow.

As I have dry skin all around my body, I like to mix a couple of drops of this oil into my bath and let it soak into my body, after then I gently pat dry and then put a few drops into my daily moisturizer and then apply onto my body! After 10 days of trial, I feel as though my skin is less dehydrated and it is more deeply hydrated! I also feel as though my skin is less itchy and my elbows, knees and shoulders are much more smoother!!

I believe that after long term use, my scars and acne marks will fade :)

Overall I give this product a 10/10

I just still wish it had the cocoa scent!

When I first tried this body oil, I figured it would go on my skin like an oil. This worried me because I hate anything that makes my skin feel greasy. I just wanted a product that would make my sometimes dry skin soft and smooth.
I tried this the first time after I took a shower. I poured a few drops on my hand and noticed it was not thick at all. In fact, it was very liquid-y for something that was called oil. I rubbed this liquid/oil all over my legs and arms and could not believe how fast it absorbed. Not even body creams or lotions absorb this fast. I let myself dry naturally and my skin felt smoother than it ever has, almost like a baby's skin.

The only problem is that some oil can get on the outside of the bottle, making it difficult to grip sometimes and there is no way to rinse the bottle that will make the oil come off.

The light rosehip scent was pleasant but I'm suprised it wasn't the brand's signature cocoa scent.
The price is good and the 30mL is good for handbag size then you can get the large one for use on your bedside table.

No More Scaly Winter Skin!!!!

I was delighted to receive the PCBFSTO (loooong acronym) to trial. I am suffering from dry scaly winter skin and no amount of lotion was helping. BH must have sensed one of their members were in dire need of help because there in my mail box I found the liquid gold that I'd would quench my skins thirst.

I applied this wonderful oil (while my skin was damp) after showering) and finished my nightly regime before putting on my pj's (by doing this it gave my skin time to really soak up the oil so it wouldn't get all over my clothes and sheets.)

I have to be honest when I woke up the next morning my skin was still dry and scaly which was a huge disappointment. But, I wasn't about to give up and applied it again that night after showering......again,same results the next morning!!!!

By now I"m thinking, "oh well at least it smells nice" I'll just keep applying it after my nightly showers. Anyways, on the 3rd day I woke up to find my scaly dry skin was completely gone! It was if I was a snake that shed its skin while sleeping!

The body has a beautiful glow to it and feels amazing to touch. I don't think I would be applying this product in the morning as I don't have time for it to soak up but at night I have all the time in the world.

I am definitely going to be purchasing this product once my lil' bottle of liquid gold is gone. Well done to Palmers for such an amazing product.

Great Product at a Great Price!

I couldn't have been happier to trial this product, as I have always been a huge fan of Palmer's and that delicious chocolate-y scent that comes with most of their products. However the product I was sent has a rosehip fragrance - which is still lovely of course but not what I expected. I was looking around in Priceline - and lo and behold, there also exists a regular version that smells exactly like Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lotion! I was extremely excited and bought it right away. Having used both, there isn't any real difference between the two differently scented products. Both absorb into the skin incredibly quickly, both seem to work well to make my skin smoother and evens out the patches of dry skin I'm prone to. I can't tell you for certain if it works on scarring - but as far as I can tell it's not a lot different, in my opinion, to Bio-Oil.

Great for shaving sensitive skin

This product has singlehandedly fixed my shaving issues - before discovering this oil I would have to dry shave and avoid all moisturizers on my legs for 24hrs after shaving or else I'd get a horrible red rash, but now I use this as a shaving oil, and as a moisturizer straight after and my legs look and feel so much nicer! It also looks fantastic smoothed over tanned skin for luxe, "expensive" looking skin.

Okay

This product is just okay for me. When i saw this in priceline awhile ago i was excited. It is a good amount for the price.
I found my skin didnt drink it up and I couldnt wait forever so on the clothes went and I think that is where it all ended up...it is too oily and doesnt absorb in my skin. But my skin is a little more fussy than others so others might actually get different results but no-way would I attempt to put on my face .... I have heard people wondering if it is good for your face I would say NOOOO.
