Bathtime bliss

We all know there’s nothing more relaxing for a tired body than a bath, but did you know it has other health benefits too?

I’m not just talking about that amazing feeling when you first sink those aching legs into the warm bubbles – oh no, there’s so much more to benefit from than the bubbles…

A certain forum thread by new member heartchichi took my attention yesterday. She was asking members for tips on how to have a relaxing, yet health-beneficial bath.
I thought this was very interesting as normally it’s all about the relaxing element – but it turns out there are actually a few specific products and methods that can help you get the most out of tub time.

Epsom salts. beautyheaven member Juliet31 claims that she rids herself of body pimples and battles cellulite just by adding these into her baths. You can get these from your local supermarket or in these ultra-calming products: Crabtree & Evelyn India Hicks Island Living Spider Lily Bath Salts and Synthesis 345 Rose Bliss Bath Salts.

Pop a mud mask on. These will be your best friend when it comes to tub time. Not only are they soothing on your skin and packed full of minerals, they also work to cleanse your face on a much deeper level. Add a bath caddy and pillow. These can be purchased from places like Big-W or K-Mart for pocket change. Watch as your books are protected from getting wet due to the caddy, and your neck is free from strain all because of the handy dandy bath pillow.

Bring music. This is an awesome way to chill out and gather your thoughts – of course you can even rock out to some Lady Gaga if you so wish! Otherwise, keep it calming. Meditation music is an excellent way to feel more centred and really relaxed.
