Hair treatments

Can anyone point me in the direction of the best at home hair treatments?
Or more specifically, which products/ingredients should be avoided. Thanks.

Hair oil pre treatment, shampoo, condition, followed by a treatment. Treatments i love for damaged, dry hair is Redkin All Soft Treatment and the Redkin All Soft 6 oil. Add the oil to the hair treatment for a boost. Rinse, apply the oil or an argan oil through damp hair. I put a leave in hair treatment through after oil, let it dry naturally. For nights the pantene miracle repair is great. Or more affordable is Muk. I like to keep Muk for in between this treatments, the 1 minute moisturising treatment.

I sometimes use organic unrefined coconut oil as a natural hair treatment. I hae a Delorenzo treatment which I often use. Sukin used to make a great protein hair masque but I have trouble finding it in stores, you may still be able to buy it on their website.

I really like Kerastase hair masks. They are pricey but i think they are worth the price. For very damaged hair, the line i recommend is Architect (green colour).

If you are looking for a ultra moisturising, ultra repair mask, I can’t go by the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. This is one of the best masks I have used. It is on the expensive side, but it is worth spending that little bit extra!

I also really like the Eleven Australia Miracle Hair Treatment, which also doubles as a detangler and sun protector. It is also a leave-in treatment, which is more convenient:)

    Hope this helps:)

Rory, it would be helpful if you told us the type of hair you have so that product recommendations are suitable for you. Do you have oily or dry hair, is your hair frizzy, do you have scalp issues etc?

I am not sure what you mean by ingredients to avoid. Personally, I avoid hair products that contain lots of protein. I found out that protein makes my hair brittle and straw-like. I also went silicone-free a few years ago because silicones seem to coat the hair and not provide any nourishment, but that’s my personal opinion and might not be correct. Seeing as so many products contain protein and silicones, my hair treatments are very limited – I tend to use jojoba oil as a leave-in treatment before shampooing. I also like jojoba oil for scalp issues. Before using jojoba oil, I used to use coconut oil treatments, but now I prefer jojoba oil.

I absolutely love Make hair treatment from hairhouse warehouse. I have dyed blonde hair and it has improved the condition of my hair really well. I’ve been using it for a couple of months and would definitely recommend it as a treatment for coloured hair.

I don’t know if its what you’re after but I think the pantene 3 minute miracle is fantastic!

Hey Rory, I highly recommend Hair Recipe! It’s free from parabens, mineral oil etc. These products are super rich and nourishing and have revived my dry/colour-treated hair:

I`ve already written a review on the conditioner – I think it should be at the bottom of the page 🙂
