Happy

I feel really happy at the moment. Because I have made a decision. I am only going to wear a translucent oil control powder during the day and for special events I may wear concealer or a liquid foundation. I went out today and I felt more confident in my own skin without the cover up makeup. I go back to school next week and I think I will be so much happier having a few blemishes showing rather than makeup that melts of my face. And without the concealer or liquid foundation it makes it so much easier for me to control oil through the day and I don’t have to worry about anyone noticing my makeup. And it will be a surprise for people to see me with the full works (makeup) when I go out, because i find if I wear it everyday there is really no surprise when I dress up to go out. I will just make sure I have my hair nice and neat and lips or eyes done nice. What do you think? This will also save me fussing over in the mirror all the time which is a benefits for my self esteem.

I only wear make up to work, if I’m at home or not really doing much on a weekend I don’t wear any. It doesn’t really bother me not wearing it, don’t see the point in putting makeup on if I’m just going to Woolies or doing housework.

I am not sure where to post this so I am bringing up this old thread.

I have a good skin day today!! I have been having really good skin for a few weeks (since my holiday!) But today I had my usual Ella Bache facial and my skin just GLOWS. I went to a friends’ gathering in the afternoon with no foundation, no tinited moisturiser, no bb cream and no concealer. NO concealer!! I just wore some mascara and filled in my brows. I hope this good skin stay for a while!

    Hi Molly,
Smiling to know that you are in a happy mood and in all honesty, I think you are beautiful as you are but it’s so good to see your confidence growing since your first day here at BH and you are making decisions which then make you even happier.
    Big hugs to you xx

That sounds great! I have also done this recently after finishing highschool without the judgement of everyone there. I only go to uni with a light layer of foundation just covering my acne scars.
It is so much better so when you have a party or formal event, as you said it makes it so much more special just adding some mascara and eyeshadow.

Embracing your natural beauty is great and I find it makes me feel more empowered and people liking me even though I still have scars showing through…
Rosehip oil works absolute wonders and I have oily skin and it dowsnt break me out.
I apply that at night and in the mornings I use an innoxa even skin tone serum.
my skin and scars have improved greatly.

Thank you girls, you are the reason I’ve become brave enough to do this. I just need to find something else with salyinic acid to help fade my hyperpigmitation. I’ve tried the neutrogena fight and fade, could anyone suggest something better? 🙂

Molly you are one brave girl, I only wish I was as smart as you when i was younger! Your skin will def be better off when u get older.

I don’t wear too much make up myself during the day(work requirement) so I love the feeling of getting dolled up and heading out! Hope u enjoy ur new look!

That’s great Molly!! I do the same as you. I only wear a bit of concealer under my eyes, and some translucent setting powder because my skin can get quite oily. What a great decision you’ve made! I’m sure it’ll benefit your skin greatly in the future; not wearing too much make-up early on in life. I’ve heard a few stories of people who wore way too much make-up when they were a teen, and they skin was terrible later on. I’m so glad you’re happy now. (: xx
