Top three male grooming tips

If your man is anything like a fair few of the blokes I know, he’d probably rather sit through a ballet than get involved in any aspect of beauty. While that might be fine and dandy for the ‘I’m-single-and-don’t-want-a-girlfriend’ type of guy, it’s not exactly going to fly when we have to catch sight of their nasty nails on a daily basis, or snuggle up to their scaly skin at night. Am I right ladies?
So it’s up to us to educate the lads in our life, to give them some grooming tips that’ll make them more huggable, more kissable, and all-round easier on the eye! Here’s where you can start:
1.) Teach him about the importance of a good skincare routine
If he can’t act his age half the time (and which man ever does?), why would he want his skin to look it? He’s much more likely to get away with childish behaviour if he’s got an irresistible baby face to go with it, so try to get him to cleanse with a hydrating face wash – at a minimum – on a daily basis.
Buy him: Dove Men+Care Clean Comfort Self-Foaming Facial Cleanser
2.) Ensure he stays on top of his scent
As I’m sure you all know, there are two categories of body sprays – anti-perspirants, which help to stop the body from perspiring; and deodorants, which provide a fresh scent and help mask body odour. Your man on the other hand, probably doesn’t know this. So if he’s the type that tends to get hot and sweaty, he’ll need to use an anti-perspirant product – preferably with a deodorising component too, to ensure he smells fresh all day.
Buy him: Dove Men+Care Anti-perspirant Deodorant Energising Spice
3.) Help him maintain a ‘men’s mani’
For me, there’s nothing more off-putting than a guy with long, or dirty fingernails. The first just screams ‘sleaze’, and the second…well it makes me wonder when last he washed his hands, which is never a good thing. In my experience, guys are more likely to keep their nails in top shape if you give them a bit of a helping hand along the way. So the next time you’re cutting and filing your nails, offer to do his too – he’ll probably be nicely surprised by how good they look and will be less likely to put up a fight the next time you offer the service. And who knows, one day he might even start doing them himself!

Have you ever educated any men about the benefits of grooming?

Great article. I actually offered to give my bf a pedicure and foot srub on new years eve. He was a bit worried at first and winced every time I touched his foot but eventually relaxed and I got rid of his dirty toenails and every other bit of gunk living there!! :P
He ended up with baby soft feet and he couldnt beleive the weird feeling of having nice feet all of a sudden.
My bf hates moisturisers and chapsticks and everything that relates to girliness so when he's not looking I slap some vaseline onto his lips, he hate it! And I try to moisturise his hands by putting too much on mine and then grabbing his hands and putting the rest on him haha the things we have to do!

lol bm!
I have a bit I think - just can't help myself! He wasn't too sure about me slathering fake tan all over his head but he did like the aftereffects!! He loves aftershaves & men's scents so I don't really have a problem in that area and he's a bit naughty the way he always tries to steal my LED machine - he thinks it will help grow his hair back! So I'm claiming he can buy a replacement head when this one runs out. He loves keeping clean and takes really long showers!!!! Just as long as mine actually. He's always steaming up the bathroom in the morning! I have to get in there before he has a shower or it's just too steamy. Anyhow, besides that, he does tend to sample all my goodies in the shower - I've noticed my Dermalogica Thermafoliant scrub tube getting flatter and flatter! I'm sure I haven't used it that much. Oh, and he loves his VS stubble trimmer which I picked out for him for a pressie!
Well by the looks of what I've written I realise I've definitely had a bit to do with educating my man about the benefits of grooming!

I'm lucky enough to be in the industry so nearly every day I will give a few tips to the guys. I have tried with my hubbie only to find I have to physically apply moisturiser every day and night just so I know his skin is protected. And I have to actually squeeze cleanser into his hands to make him wash his face properly and most ridiculous of all I feel so bad that he hasn't a clue that I give him a facial every week and I mean I use some of my good serums and masks too. Even though I rant and rave about it I feel it's not their fault if they weren't taught at a young age like young girls are taught to look after their skin. If there is not a routine they wouldn't have a clue I reckon.

I am continually teaching my man about grooming and slowly but surely he is starting to listen.
For one he cleans his nails and clips them regularly. He also uses a moisturiser, I am still working on him for cleanser though, he still uses soap. He is a true blue Aussie bloke so I am pretty pleased with what he does do.

Im a bloke and simple hygiene is common sense. I'm lucky to have a good friend to keep me up to date with blokes products, like natio and burts bees would never know what they are otherwise. Only the basics for me but, washing, shaving etc nothing over the top. She just told me about this Dove range wonder how it is.

I've gotten one of my close guy friends onto using spf30 EVERYDAY, he's out in the sun for work and it would just be stupid not to. Thank god he realises that now!

JayeKaye i have managed to get the SPF message across too, such an important one that so many guys don't pay attention to. From nice aftershaves, bodywash, good quality s&c's, teaching him that there are shave options eg gel, lotions, balms etc He only sticks to the basics but at least now he has moree options! Only problem is that now my good shampoo/conditioner, fave bodywash etc seem to be getting used up a lot quicker, lol. I use something once go to use it again and its half gone. I think even my Dad has taken the SPF on board which makes me feel relieved :)

I do love a nice-smelling man! I like it when a man looks after himself, I think pampering is unisex. As long as he doesn't over-do it, than it's ok ;)

Absolutely!! I used to have to make my partner moisturise telling him that if he doesn’t his skin will always be dry and by the time he gets older it won’t have as much elasticity! He does it without me asking now!! and his skin is looking fantastic for it!! :)

I'm married to a " blokey bloke" but he now only lets me cut his hair and uses the shampoos I pick for him. He always cleans his nails and keeps them neat and I do his pedicures. He is slowly improving himself but it has been a long challenge of 22 years. I have to give him an A+ for trying though.

They do start to listen eventually! My hubby saw me doing my weekly mask, and he wanted one too. I just popped a mens face wash in the shower, and he started using it. He now does exfoliating mens face wash, toner, weekly mask, and moisturizer, all from the Arbonne RE9 mens range, & has been getting comments at work about his skin.he even tells me what he wants, and when he needs more!

YES! my fiance has a habit of tearing off the ends of his toe nails if they get too long and this turns in to big gashes! blood eg: a big mess! NOW i make sure he has his own mani set so tearing is no longer an option!
