Reduces the appearance of redness

While I haven't been impressed with the rest of the Clinique Redness product range, I do really like this product. It does what it says and reduces the appearance of redness (but it doesn't actually get rid of redness). It also goes a long way - I've been using my trial size pot daily for almost a year and I'm only just now coming to the end of it. Will definitely repurchase.

Redness Be-Gone!

I have been using the Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder over the past few weeks and have recieved wonderful results and I will continue to use this product in the future. I suffer from redness usually around the nose, chin and cheeks and have a few capillaries around the nose which I have always tried to conceal. Especially in the winter months I get extremely flushed cheeks and almost a burning scensation in them, however I have never found a product able to cover the redness, so I was quite skeptical when I first tried this mineral powder.

Firstly upon opening the packaging I realised it had included a portable mini wind-up brush to carry on the go with you or keep in your handbag for touchups which was fantastic! The wind up packaging of the brush ensures there is no mess once you have used it and the fact that the brush is developed with anti-bacterial technology is just fantastic. The mineral powder comes in a very generous sized jar which could definitely last me for well over 9 months, so although it is quite expensive, it is very cost-efficent.

To use the powder I just tap the jar gently so a sufficent amount of product comes to the surface of the sifter. I tried applying the powder with many different brushes, however I found I recieved the best results with a kabuki brush as it really buffs the product into the skin and distributes the product evenly for a perfect flawless finish. The powder is very finely milled and is a yellow based powder which acts as a wonderful colour corrector. Once applied to the key areas where I experience redness and unsightly capillaries, my skin was left feeling so smooth and silky, my skin was very irritated and never experienced dryness which I was worried about. Once I looked at my skin in natural light I was amazed. The redness around my nose and cheeks had definitely subsided, almost as if it was never there. It did a great job in concealing the little red capillaries around my nose which I had always been self-concious about. My redness had seemingly vanished by the use of this magic powder! The size of my pores were also recognizably diminished which was a great bonus! I had achieved fabulous results instantly and had only applied a very light thin layer over the problem areas. The powder never felt heavy on my skin, never clogged my pores, and never made me breakout once which gave me peace of mind.

This powder can be worn by itself by applying a thin layer or it can be applied under foundation. I personally prefer to apply it under my mineral foundation, I think it gives me a more flawless and even finish. For those days where I feel like wearing very little make-up I just apply it by itself and it works great, it combats my oily t-zone and gives me a great matte finish. It was great to not have to constantly check for any sight of shine throughout the day and have to result to blotting papers. It has great staying power and has lasted me throughout long days and dosen't seem to sweat off as other make-up can on humid days, rather its ultra-fine consistency settles into the skin rather than staying on the surface of the skin. Removing the product is a breeze, it simply just washes off with warm water and cleanser I have found, no need for harsh scrubbing or even make-up removal.

The Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder definitely conceals and disguises any redness experienced on my face and also does a fabulous job at making my capillaries vanish. I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from redness, it is long lasting, effective, and hopefully through continual use it will reduce my redness as it does market itself as a treatment.

RESPONSE ON BEHALF OF CLINIQUE

THIS RESPONSE IS ON BEHALF OF CLINIQUE STATE EDUCATION MANAGER, ANGELIQUE JOANNIDES.
· Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder is first and foremost a treatment product, rather than a cosmetic one. Therefore best benefits will be seen after extended use. On a cosmetic level it will cut down pink/red tones in the skin.

· Suggested application would be to use the unique to Clinique technique of “powder rubdown” use finger tips to buff into skin and take excess powder off with a powder brush. This technique also will help minimize the look of pores.

· The powder is not a powder foundation and is not designed to give full coverage, rather to be used under foundation or over foundation to cut any pink hues in the skin. It also can be used alone to tone down redness.

· This product is over 75% minerals, however at Clinique we know that minerals are not the only ingredients that are good for skin so it does have other ingredients in this product.

· This product like all Clinique products is 100% Fragrance Free and Allergy tested. This means it has been tested on 600 people, 12 times over 7200 applications, without one case of irritation or allergic reaction.

Lovely & Light

I have really enjoyed trialling Clinique's new Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder and have found it to be a lovely product. I'm usually not too keen on powders as they can feel heavy and clogging on my skin but this product is so finely milled that it's weightless and you forget you've got it on. Once applied it feels super soft and silky and if you run your hands over your face it just feels so nice and smooth.

While I haven't found it to be a redness-busting wonder it has helped tone down the pinkness in my skin thanks to it's soft yellow colour although on someone very pale this may not be the right colour for them as they could end up looking a little like an Oompa Loompa or even worse, Paris Hilton. Eek.

This product can be used on it's own or it can be applied over or under foundation and I've tried pretty much every variation there is. Personally I prefer it on it's own as I wear very little makeup to work and this just evens out my skin tone a little without being obvious but if you need more coverage than it can be used instead of a finishing powder or even like a primer. I was a bit sceptical about applying a powder product to my face followed by a liquid foundation as I expected it to glug up and look hideous but it actually worked perfectly. I think that because the powder is so fine and feels super soft and smooth on your skin that there's really nothing there for the liquid to adhere to.

While I may not find this powder to be that brilliant for redness I just adore it as a mattifying product and have worn it all day at work, getting rather hot and sweaty, and when I've gotten home there has been no sign of shine or oiliness. I'm really not sure how it can be so effective and last so well but again that may be down to the fact that it is so soft and fine and kind of settles into your skin more than onto it. I've had no issues with pore clogging or spots either which is great as at the end of a day wearing foundation I usually need a bit of a scrub to get my very, large pores clear again as they seem to grab hold of makeup and not want to give it up. This powder washes of super easy without the need for scrubbing which is also great for anyone with irritable skin.

This powder comes in a screw top container with a sifter in the top and normally I'm not too keen on this sort of packaging as I tend to end up with more on top of the sifter than under but this hasn't been a problem for once. In fact I had a hard time getting a good quantity out in one hit as I sent some to a friend to try (waving at mel) and really had to work at it. I've been carrying it around in my handbag too and haven't had issues with product getting everywhere so I've been really impressed.

It comes with its own applicator brush that's been developed to resist mold and bacteria plus it's retractable and comes with a lid for added hygene. At first I didn't think the brush would be much good as it's not that big, the whole thing is about the size of a large mascara tube, although shorter, and I didn't think it would give a very good overall application and might actually look streaky. I'm glad to say that I was wrong and it applied the powder really well, the bristles are quite long so they have a fair bit of movement and cover a larger area than expected yet the brush is small enough to get a good even coverage around my nose and eyes.

Overall I have really enjoyed trialling Clinique's Instant Relief Mineral Powder and will continue using it but at the same time I will be checking out other products on the market just in case there is something even better out there.

Red-isappearing Act

I’m sad to say that my rosy cheeks are not a sign of good health - I’ve always found my flushed cheeks a source of annoyance. Also, being a Clinique fan, I was very excited to trial this product from BH (Thank you!).

The first thing I noticed is the pale yellow colour of the powder. I have no issues with this. However, it is very fine textured, and I find it highlights my dry patches or pimples that are drying out. Also, I’m yellow-toned, so I have to apply this product with a light hand around places where I get red. Otherwise, I find that my skin looks a little pasty. These were the only negative aspects I could find.

Now, down to the real reason why I gave this product the 4 hearts it deserves. First of all, it comes with a brush and the 24g size is very generous. I would use this product over tinted moisturiser or foundation, because, when the powder is used alone, it wasn’t as effective in reducing redness. It works even better over a primer! It is a mineral powder, so I can be assured that it is gentle and comforting to my skin while absorbing excess oil. I’ve also noticed my pores are not as clogged as they used to be, and I believe that wearing mineral powder has contributed to this. The product comes with a retractable brush which is anti-bacterial. I love how I can just load the brush with some powder, put the cap on and leave, knowing I can touch-up on areas as necessary. It also leaves my skin with a matte finish.

Overall, this product does what it claims. I have noticed a difference in my complexion when using this product, and I will repurchase.

Wonderful Instant Relief!

A fair complexion, sensitivity and dryness often make it hard for me to find products that will help or minimise my mild reactive redness, rosacea and fine broken capillaries without aggrevating or drying my skin out further but Thanks to Clinique's Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder I have finally found a Wonder Solution! This Mineral Powder itself complements the other products in Cliniques Redness Solutions Range but also works wonders in its own right. I have been using this daily for over a month now and from my first application noticed visible results within seconds and have had positive comments from people about how calmed, healthy and even my usually stressed and red complexion now looks.
A gentle shake of the handy plastic jar lets the mineral powder release into the upper section of the jar where its easily able to be applied to the clever wind up antibacterial brush that comes with the powder. The brush is ingenius in itself as it is designed to use not only for daily application but for touchups if wanted. After uncapping, a twist to open and expose the brush followed with a load up of the brush with powder from the jar, then a gentle twist of the brush closes it. A recap and its ready to re-open and use quickly for those on the go touchups. It is a pale yellow colour mineral powder, very fine and soft in texture, and does not contain talc which is a bonus for me as talc is a major irritant on my skin which many powders contain. The creamy smooth, sheer powder is oil free and really comfortable to wear on my skin, non-irrtating and filled with many great ingredients like caffeine, extracts of magnolia bark, poria cocos (mushroom) and citrus grandis peel (grapefruit) which help relieve the look and feel of reactive redness so often caused by stress to the skin from climate or cosmetic use.
I have used this powder a number of ways and had great results each time. My skin usually suffers redness on the cheeks, nose and around my mouth and chin area specifically. Used alone over my daily moisturiser or with my sunscreen beneath, it left my skin looking even in colour with redness minimised practically immediately upon application, on my more stubborn red areas I simply added a little more powder than the other spots. I applied this using the brush supplied using gentle swirling motions across my face, it felt soft on my skin not scratchy, as well as feeling light and silky not at all heavy or clogging. The brush easily allowed for me to get into the areas beside the nose where redness is a persistant nuisance. It really let my skin look naturally healthy while reducing my redness which was great as I was able to feel bare faced and makeup free without having to worry or feel self conscious about how red my face looked as I knew it wasn't red for once! Surprisingly it even made the appearance of some broken capillaries near my eye area and cheek appear to almost disappear which is pretty amazing on my pale skin as nearly everything seems amplified against my complexion. Used under foundation it gave an excellent base and worked just as well when used alone, obviously with foundation it lessened redness even more and worked even better on the more stubborn persistant red areas. Used over foundation it also
helped even out redness that the foundation hadn't hid and worked well in place of an everyday powder. On my dry skin it didn't appear to emphasise dryness or look caked on or flakey, it seemed to actually feel calming and soothed on my skin.
I adore this powder as it's easy to use design and gentle effective formula is honestly the best mineral powder I have found to help combat my Redness. It may seem expensive at $70 but as it lasts all day (I didn't need touch ups, but could be handy for those with an oilier skin type) and only needs a small amount lightly brushed onto face, I feel that this would last at least 5-6months with generous daily use if not longer. It is a great 24g size and sound investment as it evens out redness giving an all-over balanced complexion, lessens the need for other makeup (eg.foundation, extra concealers) for a more natural look and replaces the need for other powders as it does two jobs in one. The simple fact that I can use it and be sure that my redness is minimised, and I wont have irritations or reactions like most powders and redness cover-up makeup causes me makes Cliniques Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder money saving in itself. Really cant fault the product at all, its honestly my favourite skincare, makeup product at the moment and I can happily give it 5/5 for living up to its name! An Instant Relief to my face and my confidence as this product delivers great results.

Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder

I was really excited when a friend and fellow BH member offered to send me some of this ‘Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Powder’ to try. I have suffered from facial redness along with a few broken capillaries on my face for most of my life, so I am always trying to find the ultimate solution to my constant dilemma. After a few test drives of this product, I have concluded that for me it is just so-so. I will explain why.

This product is from Clinique’s Redness Solutions range and is a mineral based, talc free powder that is not purely mineral as it does contain some non-mineral ingredients which is particularly common in mainstream beauty brands not traditionally associated with mineral makeup. The powder itself is a very fine textured powder that you need to use with caution to avoid making a huge mess like the one I did on my initial application. After a few experiments I found that it is much easier to apply if you use a good kabuki brush to blend it into the skin properly, making sure you tap off any excess powder before you begin. It is extremely sheer with just one layer so I was not convinced that it worked very well until I built up the coverage creating several layers. I instantly stopped and thought, “yes this works”. However, looking at my face in another light I also noticed that it appeared too chalky and looked caked on. I was also not impressed with how it emphasized my pores immensely; they were just far too noticeable after using this powder on its own. I had obviously applied too much, which also resulted in my face becoming a sickly unnatural looking colour. On the bright side, the finish is very matte with no sign of shimmer and it seems to help keep oil production at bay. It assists in camouflaging my redness and even reduces the appearance of my broken capillaries, yet I felt the need to apply my regular foundation over it to even out my complexion and to look presentable enough to go out in public. After a few hours, I noticed that it tended to settle into fine lines and was rather patchy, particularly around my cheeks, so in my opinion using it alone or under my powder foundation just does not work for me.

The best method by far was to use it as a setting powder over my usual foundation and only with a light handed application so that it is not too thick and obvious. I was so disappointed to find out that this powder contains Bismuth Oxychloride, which is a known skin irritant, because of this inclusion I would not suggest this powder to anyone with really sensitive skin, because you could wind up developing a reaction caused by using this ingredient. I would however, recommend the Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder to anyone looking for a ‘quick fix’ designed for minor facial redness, however if you want to cover a more serious skin condition I would advise you explore other options. It is an expensive product for barely there coverage and I personally get better results with my regular ‘all mineral’ foundation. Overall, this was not the miracle redness abolisher I had hoped it would be and in all honesty, I don’t see this product as anything new or different to any other makeup cover-up available on the market. It covers redness but it does not eliminate the problem. I find the product name misleading because it is not a solution to redness; it just helps to disguise the problem, yet I can get the same results without the expense using a regular mineral powder foundation instead. I was and still am really grateful that I was given the opportunity to try this powder because unless I experienced the results for myself I would have always wondered if it would work for me.

Magic Powder

I was so excited to be part of this trial as I have suffered from mild redness for as long as I can remember and have been very self conscious about it.

I'm a big fan of Clinique products and have used a number of products over the years so I knew I would be pleased with the results.

I was quite surprised about the lemon toned colour of the powder as traditionally I always thought green was more of a redness camouflage. This made me more keen to try!!

The powder comes in a jar and has a wind up brush which I just adored. The quality of the brush is of superior quality and feels as soft as a feather on the skin. The powder has a silky feel and melts into the skin so it doesn't look like you're wearing anything on the skin.

The result - Amazing! I have a little bit of redness on my cheeks and a few capillaries on my nose and they virtually vanished upon application. You can apply this alone, under or over your makeup. I found it worked better in conjunction with a good quality foundation.

This is a great value for money product that is going to last for a very long time. A great Clinique product to try when Clinique have a GWP bonus.

Love it, recommend it and will continue to use. Highly recommend :)

Clinique : Redness Solutions Instant Relief Minera

I normally get red cheeks and a red nose from blushing, working at out the gym, and when it is humid. So i was very fortunate to receive the TT for this product.
I found this powder to be a great base, on top of my primer and underneath my foundation. The product comes with a great little brush. The brush is soft and applies the powder on evenly.
The powder is silky, smooth and does not itch my skin which is a bonus as sometimes my skin can react to certain powders.
I find the powder sets really well and does not give a yellowish hue rather it blends well with my foundation and actually covering my red skin.
I have oily skin and i find this product very useful to touch up through out the day.
The powder may seem expensive, but it comes in a very decent size. However I think a travel size would be great as I have so many things in my bag hehe.

Amazing results - evened out my skin tone

I was thrilled to be selected to trial this new product from Clinique for BH as I suffer from rosacea and an uneven complexion and I am always on the lookout for a product to mask the redness. I have used mineral powders in the past so was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box to see a generous sized jar of powder that I envisage will last a good 9 to 12 months making the price of $70 great value for money.
Where I have mild to moderate redness the powder worked immediately to dramatically even out my skin tone and remove the redness. The powder is very finely milled and did not appear "cake like" or noticeable on my skin - in fact it did not feel like I was wearing powder at all nor did it make my face look jaundice which I initially feared when I saw the colour.
I also suffer from broken capillaries on the side of my nose and whilst the powder did not 100% camouflage these it did make the capillaries far less noticeable.
The product comes packaged with it's own retractable brush which unfortunately did irritate my skin and make my skin itchy and red but I simply discarded the brush and used one of my own.
Overall the powder worked by evening out my skin tone by dramatically reducing the redness without looking like I am wearing makeup. I also love knowing that the powder is oil free, talc free and non comedogenic. Highly recommended!
