Each month, we send a bag of goodies to a few of our members. Why? Well, they’re our guinea pigs, tasked to try every product in the pack and report back to us. Without further ado, here’s what they had to say about the beauty products in the September Discovery Bag.
“When using on sections of my hair (approximately 1-inch thick, just to reflect the type of curl I prefer), I would hold the tool for 5-10 seconds to ensure the curl would hold without burning. I found that these curls would last all day, and create a more relaxed look for my second-day hair.” – Dimmity“It took me a few practice goes at this to get the technique right… But once I had the technique down, it was really easy to curl my hair and I loved the results. “I’ve been using it multiple times a day! It’s a lovely moisturiser with a very minimal scent that works wonders on everything, from dry elbows to freshly shaved legs! It’s quickly become my body’s favourite pick-me-up! I have sensitive skin and this nourished and smoothed quickly and subtly. The cream sinks in almost instantly, allowing you to dress or go about your day without that horrid sticky feeling.” – Dimmity“It rubs in pretty easily without being greasy or sticky. I really liked the effect and it improved my incredibly dry legs a lot over those days. It has a really nice baby powder smell that isn’t too strong and doesn’t hang around either.” – Emmydoo“Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive about its quality, given it’s so cheap, but holy moly, was I wrong! I have very, very dry skin, and live in a dry climate, which makes for sad skin. I am picky with my moisturisers. I try a new one every one to two months, and I have only ever found two that have worked for me. But now I can change that number to three.” – Snailor
“This hand cream is berry-scented and smells good enough to eat! The scent lingers softly on my hands after application. The hand cream is a light apricot colour with a smooth texture. It absorbs quickly. After applying to my hands, they are left feeling very soft and smelling beautiful. The hand cream feels very nourishing and I have really enjoyed using it.” – Jessica712“This cream is slightly thinner than other hand creams I love, but it still leaves my hands feeling like there’s moisture that can last through a hand washing or several hours in the office. It’s very quickly absorbed, which is great because I tend to like to apply cream quickly between phone calls in the office. It has quite a sweet floral smell. After a week of constant use, my hands are gorgeously soft and I’ve noticed benefits to my cuticles as well. Very highly recommended!” – Steph Speth“It sinks in almost immediately, but unlike some other hand creams, it’s actually super-nourishing as well. It’s even nourishing enough to apply before bed as a treatment with cotton gloves over the top. The smell is pleasant and not too strong.” – melanie-anne.
“The cream itself was rich and heavy, more balm-like than cream. It had a fruity/citrus/herbal scent which I really liked. I have been using it nightly but I can probably drop it down to alternate nights and still maintain the softness.” – emzaau“I wear closed shoes to work every day and find that my heels can get dry and thick-skinned. I use this four times a week in conjunction with a weekly foot scrub and my feet are so smooth! I was sharing this with my mum, too, and she has suuuuper thick skin on her feet and doesn’t usually benefit from products like this, but she is so happy with the results she has stolen it from me.” – Christina505“After a few nights of application, I found my feet – especially my heels – were quite smooth and silkier without the greasiness, allowing me to put my sandals on straight away.
