This is one of my favourite moisturisers. I use it before going to bed and I wake up with soft skin, and it never goes on greasy nor does it leave my skin that way. There’s more: if you are acne-prone, don’t worry! You won’t get clogged pores or blackheads. I also use it in the morning, and it layers great under foundation. It promises long-lasting hydration for 24 hours and it delivers. 5/5

Great for hydrating - glosscars
I have always been a loyal user of Clinique skincare as I love the results that the products produce. Before the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator came out, I had religiously used the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. I was skeptical as to how the new product would be any different from the original, in terms of formula or quality. However, since I had such great experiences with the brand, I decided to try out the Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator.
When I ran out of my Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief gel moisturizer, I purchased the Moisture Surge Intense from David Jones. The product comes packaged in a small glass jar much like the other products of the brand. Although some prefer the more hygienic packaging of a tube, I rather like the packaging of a jar as it allows the entire product to be used without waste (which is great due to the relatively high price tag) and is aesthetically pleasing in my bathroom cabinet.
Whilst the original moisture surge appears to be incredibly gel-like, the formula of the new Moisture Surge Intense has a much creamier consistency. The application of the moisturizer is quite simple. I simply place a few dots of the moisturizer in different areas of my face before rubbing and blending the moisturizer in. The moisturizer is quite rich and nourishing, but is not heavy and all. Rather, it is quite light and tends to sink into my skin beautifully. It does not leave my skin greasy or shiny, but rather, it appears almost invisible on my face. Unlike other rich creams, it is perfect for wear during the day, due to its light consistency.
I absolutely loved how the moisturizer left my skin so hydrated, smooth and supple, with application allowing my face to feel lovely and cool. My face was stayed soft and moisturized throughout the whole day, as the moisturizer was incredibly long-lasting. The formula of the moisturizer also provided a perfect base for my foundation and makeup, as the moisture surge intense glides smoothly onto my skin.
One of the only problems I have with the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense is its’ strong chemical smell. Although many ladies would prefer the typical fragrance free nature of Clinique products, I am not a big fan of the scent. However, the scent does fade gradually after application. Additionally, the moisturizer does not include any anti-aging properties – only providing hydration for the skin.
Despite the higher price tag of the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator, I believe that the excellent quality of the product completely justifies the price. The moisturizer leaves my skin smooth for a whole day and I only need to apply once every morning to maintain the hydration. The oil free nature of the product is also great for those with acne prone skin, as it will not lead to the clogging of pores. Thus, I definitely recommend this moisturizer and I believe that it will be a worthy recipient of the Glosscars prize.

Whenever someone asks that age old question "What are three things you would take with you if you were stuck on a deserted island", Clinique's Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator is always on my list.
Like most Clinique products, Moisture Surge Intense comes presented in a little glass jar which may not be everyone's favourite option in terms of packaging. I find that being a jar, there is no wastage of the product when it comes down to finishing it, you can really scrape the last bits out, whereas if it was a tube or a bottle, there would be leftover product that would be impossible to get out.
Moisture Surge Intense is incredibly soft and creamy, whilst still feeling light on the skin. As soon as it's applied it soaks right in and you're ready to apply your foundation. It leaves my skin feeling plump, soft, and supple. If there's one moisturizer to pack in your airplane travel bag, this is it. It will keep your skin extremely hydrated on board in that harsh air conditioning for hours on end.
I don't have the driest skin on the planet but when Winter hits I do get several dry patches all over my face (which, as we all know, doesn't look good with makeup). In my opinion, a perfect winter staple is a slightly thick cream. To be honest, I didn't fall in love with Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator at first because of the light consistency, I didn't think it would do much in terms of nourishment. However, after a couple of days, my face felt incredibly moisturized. It really does help your skin to retain moisture. There's more; if you are acne prone, don't worry! You won't get clogged pores or blackheads. Moisture Surge Intense works wonderfully as it is oil free yet leaves your face soft and hydrated all day long. This is a big plus for women with oily/combination skin.
I recommend using this cream twice a day, applying a little bit more at night, no matter your age. Believe it or not, both mature and very young skin are prone to dryness and to prevent aging should always be moisturized!
Overall, this is one incredible moisturizer. It's unbelievably nourishing, while still being light on the skin. It makes a fantastic base for makeup too. It's available in two variants; one for extra dry skin and one for dry to combination skin, so one is bound to suit you. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs that extra bit of moisture in their life!

A skincare Holy Grail - Best in Beauty 2012
I’m sure most of the ladies on BH have worn a push-up bra, or should I say more colloquially, the ‘chicken fillets’. Well, after all, it’s the best way to achieve an instant boost with minimal effort. And I’m going to share with all of you my little skincare ‘chicken fillet’ today – Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense Moisturiser. I've been using this for the past month and I haven’t been so impressed! I have sensitive, combination skin with areas of flakiness and eczema, and this product is an absolute life-saver for the dreaded, parched areas on the skin and acts as an amazing skin hydrator when the going gets tough.
The product comes in a frosted pale pink plastic tub and sleek brushed silver cap. It’s heavy-weight and durable, perfect to throw into your handbag without wondering if the product will end up all over your keys and wallet.
Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense product is marketed as a gel-creme, hence the consistency is quite viscous and slippery. It’s fragrance-free, however the cream has a distinct ‘chemical’ smell – I can’t put my finger on it but it isn’t offensive in any manner. I actually prefer ‘chemical’ smells as I’ve used a number of ‘natural’ and ‘organic’ products with essential oils which did nothing but wreck havoc on my skin. Once applied, the cream does take some time to absorb, however my skin instantly feels comfortable, hydrated and nourished. I also have replaced my night cream with this moisturizer, as I’ve found the texture rich enough to deeply penetrate the skin, leaving me looking radiant and healthy. Over the past month, I have noticed a significant reduction in redness, itching, sensitivity and dryness, particularly on my cheeks.
A pea sized amount is all you need to cover the face and neck. I also use this around the eye area as it’s non-irritating and great to hydrate the fine lines. Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense is also multi-purpose – I use it on my eczema patches on my arms and legs as well, which effectively reduces the flakes and irritation.
A great investment product for sensitive, dry skin that won’t break the bank. Yes, the cost of the product exceeds a drugstore product, but you’ll need a minimal amount and it’s relatively economical for a department store brand. Shop around and you’ll see that most luxury face creams with similar claims reach three figures in price. And forget waiting in line for the iPhone 5, happy, healthy skin is waaaaay more important. After all, this is a beauty website, right ;)

THE INCREDIBLE GEL TEXTURE LOVES MY SKIN
Clinique Moisture Surge has the most incredible gel texture, that suits my skin perfectly.
I have combination skin and "I am a woman of a certain age (50) that still gets the odd blackhead and pimple. Having had incredibly oily skin for most of my life; moisturiser and I have had a LOVE/HATE relationship for many, many years.
I loathe anything thing that remotely resembles a thick rich cream on my face,my first instinct is to wash it off as I feel like my skin is dirty.
I love Moisture Surge's gel texture it sinks into my skin without leaving any greasy residue. My skin is plumped and dewy the texture of my skin feels refined after application.
The saleswoman at Clinique advised me to usr Moisture Surge as a week as a mask, I apply a the cream a little thicker and leave for 30 minutes then remover the excess.
The only thing I would change about Moisture Surge is the packaging I wish it was presented in an air free pump to protect against contamination instead of a wide necked jar. I hate dipping my fingers into jars.
I highly recommend this cream it is a beauty must have for me.

Best In Beauty 2012 - Oasis in a Jar
Picture a desert devoid of all life and you'll get a bit of an idea about what my skin is like. It is usually as dry as a camel's tongue and I am always on the hunt for a decent moisturiser with powerful, maybe even miraculous hydrating properties.
Well I think that I have finally found such a moisturiser -Clinique's Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator to be exact. This is really a little oasis in a jar. It's a lightweight white cream that has a gel like texture but boy does it sink in. Straight away my skin felt velvety soft and hydrated. It does leave a slight residue on the surface of the skin that feels a bit gummy for a while but this is soon absorbed.
To prove its efficacy, I conducted an experiment (as I am wont to do) and put Moisture Surge over only one half of my face. There was such a difference between the skin that had the Moisture Surge applied and the skin that didn't that it was very clear that the cream was making a big difference.
Unlike a lot of moisturisers, the hydrating powers lasted all day too. Makeup seemed to set better over the top of the moisturiser too giving me a more flawless look.
I really think that this is an excellent, hydrating cream that really leads the pack as a dry skin treatment. It's also gentle on sensitive skin. So overall, I would say if you have skin like the bottom of Lake Eyre in a drought like me, then look no further than Clinique's Moisture Surge - your thirsty skin will thank you.

Dry skin's saviour
I was lucky enough to win this a prize pack from Clinique and I am so thankful I did. It is gel creme which may sound weird, but it moisturises very well, and does not feel thick or heavy at all.
Clinique products are not fragranced, but this has a nice light and refreshing scent which goes away soon after application.
My skin seems to drink up this stuff immediately, I feel as if my skin has just drunk gallons of water.
I usually have to apply 1-2 times a day, but if my skin is severely dry and flaking then i would increase this amount.
I have tried the original Moisture Surge, and while I like it, it was too light for me and i much prefer this version.

clinique works magic again!
i am a huge fan of clinique and have used several of their moisturisers. once again, they don't disappoint. this moisturiser is light and easy to apply, and my skin seemed to soak it up quickly. the smell was a little off putting at first, i actually thought the cream was off or something, but then after i applied it i could no longer smell it so it didn't bother me too much. i'll have to see whether it moisturises my skin for the whole day though because i have notoriously dry, flaky skin so if it passes that test, then i'm sold. (fyi the other moisture surge cream is fantastic as well)

Fantastic for dehydrated skin
I was lucky enough to win this on BH recently. I've used it twice since receiving it and the difference it made after even just one use is incredible. I'm quite smitten! The product is not heavy, yet my skin looks and feels super nourished. After use my skin appears plump and dewy. The product does have a unique smell, almost glue/varnish like, however I quite like it. This is definately a treat for my skin during the winter months. Given the retail price is $75 it's not a cheap product but I think a nice splurge to use when your skin really needs that extra bit of care.
