Natural wonder

Ever considered how you’d score on the bare-faced beauty barometer? What’s that, you’d rather wear a paper bag on your head than front the world without your face paint? It’s high time you kicked your cosmetic customs lady and got back to basics. Uncover your natural beauty, break free from your cosmetic chains and get naked!

The time has come to wow the world without your make-up but we wouldn’t encourage you to expose yourself without the necessary preliminary preening. Here’s our guide to bare naked beauty:

Strip off

A gentle cleanser can do more than just rid the skin of dirt, grease and impurities; it can leave your skin feeling super clean (but not tight) and revitalised. Akin Rose and Geranium Pure Creamy Cleanser & Toner in One is enriched with natural panama bark, shea and olive squalene to freshen and tone even the most sensitive of skins. But don’t just take our word for it. Read your rave reviews…

Buff up

Scrub away dull skin cells with Algoane Intense Radiance Exfoliator. Algae, apricot oil and vitamin E set to work to uncover supple, glowing skin in seconds. But if you favour a less abrasive approach to ditching dull skin, try Dr. LeWinn’s Facial Polishing Gel. Natural jojoba beads give dry, flaky skin the heave ho.

Cover up

A good basic skincare regime can yield such radiant results that you won’t want to mask it with make-up. However, an SPF is a must to guard your new-found glow. Try True Solutions True Total Age Protector SPF 30+ Untinted. It protects against UV rays while caring for the complexion with vegetable glycerin, allantoin and vitamin E.

Highly rated by you is Sunsense Daily Face SPF 30+ (read some rave reviews). Those who don’t dig the greasy feel of sunscreen on their skin will love this. The lightly tinted cream spreads easily and provides a matte finish. Plus, at $13.99 it’s a steal.

Bare-faced blush

Still feeling a little too naked? Boost your self-confidence with a natural shimmer. For a goddess glow apply Natio Liquid Bronzer to the areas of the face that would naturally attract the sun (such as cheekbones, nose and forehead).

Take a look at your fresh-faced, beautiful self.

How confident are you to bare all?

I'm fairly confident to leave the house with nothing all (makeup that is!) and have been doing this lately with all the last minute shopping, etc. But not without forgeting the sunscreen of course! The one thing I'm probably least confident with are my under eye area as this is a big tell tale area for me when it comes to lack of sleep. I swear by A'kin's Rose and Geranium Pure creamy cleanser and toner as it's so comforting and ultra soft on the skin.

I wish I was confident enough to leave the house without makeup...unfortunately with my skin being as difficult as it is I feel very self-conscious going out without at least some foundation/concealer on! If I'm super rushed I'll just blend a bit of foundation to even my skin tone, conceal to coneal any pimples and redness, and a swipe of mascara to open up my eyes. There's nothing I'd love better in the world than to be happily walking around in public makeup free!

I can go completely without makeup, and often do. Almost nobody who knows me with makeup recognises me without. I'd love to be able to get rid of the ruddiness on my face and neck and make my pores shrink so that they can't be seen but it isn't going to happen so I'll just have to continue wearing makeup when I want to be "presentable".

Not for me, lol, I need my face on at all times I am in public, even when visitors arrive at home I am running around trying to quickly apply a bit of this and that.

I often go out without makeup. Most days if i'm cruising around home and need to pop down to the shops i'll go out 'naked'.
all i wear is sunscreen and a pony tail.

I need to have my face on before I leave the house. I need to have some make-up on. People do not take me seriously if I don't wear make-up and think that I am a lot younger than what I am. Which is a good thing but, not in my working career. I do like my make-up free days to allow my skin to breathe when I am haging out at home or hitting the gym.

I look truly awful barefaced :P I am a redhead and I got stuck with the blonde lashes, combine that with those dreadful undereye circles that show up well on my pale skin...
in other words I 'need' mascara and concealer and while I'm at it...I may as well wear a bit of neutral eye shadow, blush and lip gloss
lol but I do stick with neutrals so I'm not toooo far from bare faced *cough* 0:-)

I have the Natio pressed bronzer and it is fantastic for a really natural looking glow! I wouldn't fare to well i don't think baring all..My skin can be really red and at the moment i have sunburn, so i'd look a little tomato like! I do love just wearing my bareface some days when i am at home though, just cleansed toned and moisturised and natural.

I'm ok...... I don't like to go to work or out socialising without makeup, but I can bear to go bare for shopping trips or visits to relatives & I don't feel overly self-conscious without anything on.

I think it is really good laqurec cherry lipstick! The pressed powder is extremely natural looking, and you dont need much at all and it looks likes a nice highlighted sun kissed look! I agree mm, when going to the supermakret or visiting relis i dont wear make up, or at home at night time aorund my family.

Being pale myself like the model above...I don't like to leave the house without a bit of colour on my face and a dab of tint on my lips otherwise I look to washed out. At home tho I like to let my skin breathe (and sometimes I glow in the dark...lol) I'm currently using the A'kin Pure Facial Cleansing Gel A.M in the shower. The Natio is currently next in line to try (sitting in my cuboard when the Pur Minerals is finished...yes I know I'm a beauty junkie and lovin' it!)...

I wouldn't mind leaving the house without any make-up! Unless I had a giant zit or something! I usually only wear makeup if I have enough time to apply it.

I think it's important to have one day a week to be make-up free, so that the skin can breathe a bit. During Summer I like glowy, radiant skin. Over the hols I tend to fake tan then just add mascara.

Just like to say...when I click on the Max Factor ad at the top right...it comes up...page doesn't exist...damn!...was hoping for a squizzy...

I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without my makeup on- even my "natural" look requires at least foundation, mascara and lip gloss. I do like to go makeup free if I know I'm staying home though- its nice to give skin a rest.

I like a natural look but prefer to add a little make up such as mascara and a light foundation such as Maybelline Pure

I like to wear at least mascara and liner. However, there are times when I don't have the time, and leave bare faced. I would rather wear makeup, but am not that fussed if I haven't applied any.

On the weekends I generally go without makeup to give my skin a break. If we go out though, I can't go out without a little foundation and blush on...OK, and lippy. I don't have a problem with bearing all, its how you "wear" it. If you're confident, then no one even notices you're not wearing makeup.

Lately I've been going to the shops 'naked'. Having pale skin it does look a bit washed, but I can live with that, though I'd never turn up to work without make up.

I wish I could pull off the bare look. However, with spots and oily skin, it's near impossible.. that pink tinge and uneven spots is hardly attractive!

Ive gotten lazy and stopped using makeup except on the odd occasion that I feel like I need a bit of extra oomph (and even then I didnt really use much, just gloss, a little foundation, powder and mascara). My skin's heaps better than it used to be though, so Im happy to go barefaced and i have been (mostly) for the entire year! Dont get me wrong, I love the stuff, but I think I just like having the products in my bag rather than on my face...
I think good skin is more important than having a full face although Id never ever dream of slacking off on my skincare regime!
