Green peel reaction

Q) “It’s been two weeks since I had a green peel and my face is terrible – I have two really bad patches just around the eye / cheekbone and in the middle of my cheek that are really reddy-brown and look terrible. Will it get better? The clinic where I had it done says it will take up to six weeks for the skin to clear and she has me go under a red and green light daily for twenty minutes. I’m getting very worried though and can’t go anywhere without concealer – help!” – beauty1234, QLD
A) “Because of the nature of the exfoliation treatment you have received, it isn’t uncommon, as per the advice from the centre, that it will take some time for the skin to repair, but don’t worry, it will repair.
During this time it is essential that you don’t perform any exfoliation treatments, you avoid artificial fragrance on the skin, avoid the sun and wear a complete sun block to help prevent hypersensitivity or pigmentation.
Only apply very calming anti inflammatories to your skin during this time, colloidal oatmeal in a cleanser or a mask is fantastic option. Try Dermalogica Clean Bar. If you feel the skin is really not improving day by day then I would advise you go to your doctor or dermatologist.”

I have never heard of this either. What is in a green peel? I'm glad I read this article because I have very sensitive skin and will now know not to ever try this particular treatment!
Good luck beauty1234, I really hope it clears up soon for you xx

Oh gosh! This doesn't make me want to get a peel... ever!! Especially as my skin is sensitive. I hope that your skin recovers really soon and looks great so that this whole experience is at least worthwhile!

Sounds a bit scary doesn't it, as long as after all the dilemmas you have to go through your skin looks better off, would be a waste if no visable improvements.

I have never heard of it here either. Think I will stick to my usual masks. Obviously it suits some skins and others not.

How awful for you beauty1234. Haven't heard of a green peel so don't have any advice to offer or experience to share, however skin does have an amazing ability to repair and heal itself, so give it some time.

Sounds fantastic! Where can I get one of these?? I love a great peel - but the 'at home one's' are definitely the best - soooo convenient. I love alll these products that 'refresh' and 'renew' the skin - to me it's just a little bit of 'pain' for a lot of 'gain'! Thanks Beautyheaven for this great article to let us know 'all is A.O.K.' even though sometimes things seem a little concerning along the way to beauty-success. I love all these new beautifying interventions (but I'm not into appointments!! At-home treatments for me). Thanks too for your great connections to the big beauty world out there! So glad I found you!

I've considered getting a green peel but this puts me off a bit. Think I'll just try the Homepeel Flakey Skin Remover and see how it goes.

I have heard of some really good results from green peel treatments, so dont stress and I hope that soon the marks will fade and you will be happy.
