Your holiday hit list

Tell me if this sounds familiar: you’re going on holiday and you literally can’t wait. You get your suitcase out, get your clothes together and start to pack – and all of a sudden you find yourself in a very tough situation. The type of situation that leaves you feeling hot with panic. You call one friend after the other asking for advice, but the fact that they all give you different answers just makes things worse. Your head starts overflowing with different holiday scenarios and you wonder if excess baggage costs are really as high as everyone makes out…
If you haven’t yet guessed what I’m going on about, I’m talking the common crisis every beauty junkie is bound to face at some stage of their lives – that is, which cosmetics to take on holiday and which to – gasp – leave behind.
It may sound simple enough, but take it from someone who’s been there (way too many times) – it can cause even the most levelheaded of girls to lose it on the bathroom floor.
And since we all know that too much stressing and sobbing will only leave us with puffy eyes, wrinkles and rivers of mascara running down our cheeks, we thought we’d provide a solution. So get your pen and paper ready, because we’re about to reveal the essential cosmetic companions – for any type of trip…
City sightseeing

A city-based holiday calls for products designed to keep your skin protected from pollution and make-up that’ll last all day.
AHAVA Source Face Care 3-in-1 Mineral Toning Cleanser – Not only will this multi-duty product take up minimal space in your suitcase, but it’s also formulated to break down impurities and hydrate your skin – an essential if you’re spending time in the big smoke.
Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector SPF 25 – perfect to use under make-up, this lightweight, oil-absorbing face sunscreen will keep your complexion protected all day.
NP Set Pretty Presto – Containing two eyeshadows, a blush, a mini mascara and a lipgloss, this palette will have most of your make-up needs covered.
Maybelline New York Super Stay 24hr Makeup – if you’re spending your day sightseeing and shopping, you won’t want to be touching up your make-up every hour. So get this long-wearing foundation on your shopping list – it’s guaranteed to go the distance.

Small is best -shampoo, roll on deodorant, perfume, cosmetics etc. I follow the rule of choosing what I wish to take then halving it. I also make sure I have something for warmth and good walking shoes.

I always have an empty extra large bag in my suitcase so that I can use it to store all my holiday shopping on my way home. This is particularly important when I go the US as I buy lots of manchester (bedlinen, towels) and other goodies that I can't get at home.

I love to keep room for any additional purchases I may make, but always take shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, sunscreen, makeup remover, tinted moisturiser, pressed powder and lipgloss. :)

Good travel sizes of my fave shampoo/donditioner, basic foundation, blush and gloss, body lotion and trusty GHD hair straightener! Bring only a few sets of clothing to suit the weather conditions - you can always buy when you're there!

I pack lots of travel sizes, but if I'm going somewhere for more than three nights, I'll purchase shampoos and body wash over there. Packing clothes is the worst because I'm always trying to wear set outfits but change my mind last minute and wish I had something else that's back home. I guess that's what shopping centres are for :P

Travel size everything is the way to go! I always transfer all the products into little bottles and containers with labels on them. Makes things much easier and it leaves me some room for the shopping ;)

I pack travel sized bodywash, lotion and deoderant but prefer to buy shampoo and conditioner there unless its a short trip.Essentials are sunscreen, tinted moisturiser, mascara, liner and 3-in-one cream blush which can be used on eyes and lips as well. Toothbush, paste and floss.I take Moroccan Oil I've decantered into a small dropper bottle from chemist, but prefer to buy shampoo and conditioner there unless its a short trip. I take a Pashmina and/or a large scarf which can be used as wrap or scarf and clothes for layering with comfortable shoes.

I look for trial sizes or travel products, don't need to lug around full size bottles. I like to have room in the case to buy lots of cool souvenirs. I go for 2 in 1 shampoos, body sprays instead of perfume and an all in one lip/eye/cheek colour.

I take mini sized containers of all my essentials like shampoo and conditioner plus normal-sized sunscreens. Olay Complete SPF30+ always comes with me in it's normal bottle - it gets used a lot and has a beaut lockable twist lid.
