Perfect

I have been using this religiously twice a day for around two weeks now and oh my god what a difference this has made!
Obviously combined with a three step but this is what I feel the most difference from. It is not drying, non irritating and I can really feel it working!
I soak a cotton wipe and gnetly swipe all over my face and let cool. It doesn't feel very drying at all and immediately I always touch my face to feel the softness. I follow up with DDMG and moisture surge and get quite grumpy if I forget this. I've also dragged myself out of bed to do this late at night to ensure I keep up and my skin is speaking for itself it is positively glowing!

quick exfoliation that gives great clear skin

Perfect for those with combination or oilier skin types.
Don't use this as a toner where you pat the product into the skin and you won't find it drying at all . Instead, dip a cotton pad with some of the lotion and then quickly swipe across the skin of the face, avoiding the delicate eye areas. It not only help to remove any residue traces but helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and help keep the skin oil free for longer.

My skin is always brighter and with no patches after using it for 4 days and I find that I'm more in love with the product now than I was 15 years ago when I first started using it.

Too drying

Can't believe this is suitable for dry skin when it has alcohol in it. Definitely not for dry skin. My skin was so red and flaky the next morning

Mild

This a very mild exfoliant. It contains 0.5% salicylic acid, which is an effective exfoliant at the right ph. If you have moderate to severe acne, you'll probably need a product with a higher amount of salicylic acid (e.g. 1-2%). However those with sensitive skin or those who can't handle higher amounts of salicylic acid may prefer this product. This has a toner consistency but is a little bit thicker than some toners. After cleansing, I like to pour a dime sized amount of this into my palm, which I rub on my face before using a cotton round to wipe it off. I find this product gentle and it doesn't sting my skin. Its not hydrating but its fragrance-free and alcohol-free so it doesn't irritate or dry out my skin. This is the best Clinique toner because it's alcohol-free. Those with more dry skin may prefer thr Clinique moisture surge mist as well.

Soothing

I have a major problem with redness & recently had a bad reaction to a product that caused my skin to become extremely dry, flaky, tight & even painful in some areas. I visited my lovely Clinique rep & she directed me to this product. It does not contain alcohol & is not drying on the skin. I have been using it twice daily & my skin is improving. It has a thicker texture than other toners & feels silky on my skin. I feel it really adds something to my cleansing routine. The only thing I wish was either that it has a stopper or pump to control the amount dispensed.

good for sensitive and dry skin

I have very sensitive skin. Tried multiple brands before but the toner always leave my skin too dry, or if unlucky, I can get skin burns. For that reason I always choose Clinique when my skin condition is bad, it is always neutral and gentle on the skin, allowing it to heal. It does not have much exfoliating effect though, so I tend to use a proper exfoliating mask/serum on a regular basis.

CLINIQUE MILD CLARIFYING LOTION FOR DELICATE SKIN

I have noticed some of the earlier reviews here seem to be directed at the Clarifying Lotion 1, which contains alcohol.

This version does NOT contain alcohol, irritants, scent and is NOT drying. It deserves 5 stars allround.

It contains salicylic acid, aloe, millet glycoprotein, light moisture binding agents, and soothing agents.

The product has a toner-lotion consistency that absorbs well (just careful not to pour too much onto the cotton pad or spill any), removes cleanser/makeup residue, skin feels clean, refreshed, soothed, hydrated, smooth and silky.

I have combination skin prone to blackheads and cystic blemishes that is also severely dehydrated. This version of Clinique's chemical exfoliators works best for my skin type as it does not cause problems, strip or irritate.

seems to work ok

i've used different clinique clarifying lotions before and found this one to be less harsh in terms of the feel and the smell but not sure if it's really working as well as the other ones? someone told me it contains aloe vera and so far i haven't had a reaction to it so hopefully it's working
