Yay KateK1, this is a terrific video - you're a pleasure to watch my dear :-)
I love pump packs that I can also dismantle, and up-end the bottle into a clean container. I agree that some of the luxe products come in glam looking measured does pump dispensers, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to break into them to see if there is any product left (I tried it with both Prevage and Visionnaire).
I prefer jars to tubes for moisturisers, especially eye cream - for me it's hygenic enough using a spatula. I find sometimes too much product comes out of a tube, so it's wasteful as there's no getting it back in that's for sure, lol... Also small tubes are fiddly and don't stand up on my vanity unless they have a wide flat lid, which is rare in an eye cream.
I think Estee Lauder products have the best of both worlds, and show they have thought about consumers - serum dropper bottles with good visibility or pumps that you can pull apart if required. Although Visionnaire is my #1 fave, I live in fear that I will run out as I have no way of telling how much is left until nothing squirts out (and I'm sure there's still enough left for a couple more applications). I should probably weigh both a full and empty container and keep a record of where I'm up to, but how silly is that?...
Thanks again Kate - you are definitely a star! More please :-)

This is such a great video!!!!
I prefer tubes/pumps rather than tubs that you have to put your hands into

I feel your husbands cream has the best of all the packaging as its a pump which I prefer and you can open it up to get the last bit, so I feel we need the pump and to have screw top to get that last drop.
You have some great products KateK1 thats why your skin looks beautiful

While I love products with pumps so I wont have to stick my fingers in them, it also frustrates me knowing that mostly Im unable to pull the bottle apart to completely empty it. I do love tubes, and if its a product I love, I will cut it open at the end to get every last bit out and usually that that can be sufficient foundation for a full week, and thats when you think the bottle is empty!
I love Estee Lauder products, incl the Double Wear foundation, but I so wish that it came in a tube that can stand on its lid as opposed to the glass bottle, both to be able to empty it out completely, but also as it would make it so much more travel-friendly if it came in a tube.
Great video Kate!

Awesome video!! Well done!
I love the pump products, but only if I can pull them apart and get all of it when it's almost empty :D

You just get better and better Kate! : )
I love that you did a video on this topic - really interesting to watch. I have to admit that even though one of my current most fave products doesn't come in the container I like I have still re-purchased it because the product is soooo good. I'd love it if it came in a container I could get the last skerricks out though! I'd definitely love it even more.

You can't go wrong with a pump. I dislike screw-top lids where you have to tip the bottle upside down.

I like pump dispensers for easy measured doses but hard to avoid wastage. Tubes would be best as it's handy and hygienic and you can always cut it open and use up every last drop.

haha love all the alcohol in the back! my night and day creams are 50ml, i think its crap. you have to buy it too frequently, i do find tubes and bottle with removable lids the best

i prefer pumps for everything (being makeup or skincare). its much more hygenic and easier to use. for example i hate that the revlon colorstay foundation doesnt have a pump!

I think the brand 'simple' has really good packaging. They recently changed the the moisturiser to a pump, and now its so much better! I also like squeezable tubes. I don't like products with lids that much, its hard to keep them hygienic.

Great video! I love the hygenicness of pumps, but don't love not being able to break into them to get the last of it out. Jars are much better in terms of getting to use all the product, but I don't like the lack of hygeine and some people tell me that active ingredients in jars loose their effectiveness when exposed to air. Tubes are great in terms of hygeine and be able to get to all the product, but like some others, I don't like that they won't stand up straight!

Great video with lots of valid points. I love tubes because they are less likely to contaminate the product. I have found with many products the packaging can be very deceptive regarding the actual content. It is also a waste, as usually all the packaging goes straight into the recycle or rubbish bin. This is one thing the cosmetic industry could do for the enviroment is to REDUCE packaging!

Great video! I like the pump action dispensers as it means that I don't have to re-dip my fingers in the product each time I use it.

I like containers that let you know how much of the product is left, and also allow you to get all of the product out.

Great video, all your videos are so clear and to the point :)
I do love pump packagin because it's not messy and you can get exactly how much you want out but I do think that it is extremely wasteful. It's okay with creams and stuff because you can just cut it if you want but with foundations that usually come in glass pump bottles, there's not much you can do. So for that reason tubes are probably my preferred packaging :)

Interesting question!
On TT BH always suggest questions such as how was the packaging.
I think we are always attracted to the glamorous but the practical does give us better value for money.

Great video Kate, it is amazing how different we all feel about packaging. I prefer pump dispensers but only if the lid comes off to see what is left, and to use a spatula to get the last bits out.

I enjoyed your video Kate. It's funny how the shape of a bottle (tall bottle) can make you believe that it has more product than a shorter or rounder product. I guess it's a lesson to us to always check how many mls are in the bottle or jar. I have to agree too that Elizabeth Arden Prevage is an excellent product as are the Estee Lauder ones you mentioned.

Thank you all for the great feedback on this video. I found it really interesting when looking into the topic and was hoping that I wasn't the only one interested in this. I am absolutely loving blogging regularly on BH and am in the process of developing my own blog which will have both written and video blogs. Daunting but exciting!
