Skin science

Skin Physics. Who would have thought two seemingly simple words (ok, ok, nothing physics-related ever seemed simple to me – which is why I’m currently a writer and not a bio-physicist. That dream ended a loooong time ago.)

Anyway, where was I? Oh right – Skin Physics. Two simple words that sparked loads of forum discussion. Well, its LED PHOTON™ Photo-Rejuvenation Starter Kit did at least.

We’ve currently got our trusty Trial Team on to it (stay tuned for their verdict), but in the meantime, here’s a little bit of info so that when they’re all talking about it you don’t feel like I did in science class. I.e.- totally lost.

What it is:

A hand-held device that kind of looks like it could be the love child of an old-school portable phone mixed with an extra large razor. Minus the blade part of course. Oh and it pulses red LED light into your skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

How it works:

The LED utilises pulses of low level, non-thermal energy to activate your skin cells to produce proteins and lipids essential for building and repairing the skin. This clever red LED light also works to soften lines, folds and wrinkles, promote healthier circulation, increase moisture and radiance, accelerate skin repair and improve elasticity and skin tone. And incase that wasn’t enough, it also helps to reduce inflammation and irritation, as well as even out age spots, freckles and rosacea.

But don’t just take my (highly scientific) word for it. Check out what our members are saying about it in the forum, read the reviews, and stay tuned for the results of our Trial Team’s road-test in a couple of weeks…

Thanks for explaining that Deb, I am currently trialing the Skin Physics and I was wondering what it actually does for our skin. I am looking forward to adding my review.

Wow sounds brilliant, cant wait to read reviews. Using devices to improve my skin has never been high on my agenda, to be honest I worry about adverse effects, but I guess the chemicals in all of the lotions and potions we use also can't be 100percent without some drawbacks.

i am lucky enough to be trialing this product. all seems good so far, and another good thing is that there are a number of clinical studies to back up the products' claims.

Looking forward to this one but personally would have really liked to see the results with my own eyes with before and after photos from real people who we chat to regularly, it would have been so good, thankfully we have got Michelle's video to look forward to can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts on it as it is not something that I would spend so much money on without being 100% sure it really did have positive results :)

Sounds like a very interesting product. But quite an investment required at $300, will be really good to read all the reviews come in from the trial team.

I've read a bit about this and it would be a good product to try. I've heard some impressive things said about it. But it's one of those things I wouldn't buy without trying first myself.

I've been involved a little in the discussions. I'm really loving this product! Before buying it I looked around and 'researched' the product a bit by reading about it on the net and magazines and talking to the helpful staff at Myer and also at the Shavershop. My conclusion was that it really did seem worth giving a go so I told my hubby all about it and he's ended up loving it as much as me!

From what I've heard and read in the forum discussions this product is brilliant! Several years ago I went and had a light therapy facial and saw some improvement but didn't do a course of treatments as recommended to reap the benefits. Going to the salon you can spend upwards of thousands of dollars so purchasing an at home product of $300 is a great investment especially if you can get the same benefits as you would in a salon but in the comfort of your own home. Like Mel said this is a product that would be great to see before and after photo shots. Very envious of the TT for having tried this and look forward to reading all the reviews and watching Michelle's video :)

Sounds interesting but not for me I don't think.

it sounds like a fantastic product and if it does deliver, $300 is not too much compared to the face creams and lotions others are selling at (I'm looking at you Prevage and Elizabeth Arden for your $265 treatment).
If only we can take it home with us and try and get a money back guarantee. I'm a bit sceptical because if it is so good, why isn't there all these other companies jumping on the bandwagon. LED therapy is not under patent so anyone can make it and market it for sale, why aren't we seeing lots of competition in this market.

Sounds like a fantastic product but I won't be using it anytime soon :)
It's amazing how far technology has come.

In theory it sounds like the solution to almost every problem. I, however, don't think I'll ever use anything like this because I'm just worried about the long term effects.. I guess all the skincare products are full of chemicals (so it's not that they are better than this) and recently I've been a lot more aware of all the harmful ingredients... So unfortunately I'll be missing out on a lot of things but maybe my skin will actually love me for it (for a change...) Anyway, looking forward to hearing what the Trial Team thought, I hope this really works!! :)

Been reading about this and similar in the forums for a long time now (the thread is huge!) but haven't contributed as I haven't tried it. Seen them and similar in DJ's sydney a wwhile back with a SA doing a promotion which sparked my interest so will be keen to see the video and if the results speak for themselves.

I am very interested in the product, but it's one of those things that have me iffy on doing to myself. Would have to do a bit more research into it.

Ive been using it on my freckles along my nose and to reduce pores. I think the pores have reduced in size no doubt but the freckles have only faded lightly, they werent dark or too obvious but just enough so that id rather do without them lol it makes your skin feel more hydrated though, i dont use any of the creams and it still somehow seems to make my skin softer or atleast enhance my moisturiser.

that sounds really interesting, it would be fantastic to try it especially because i have "mature" skin, i'd love to reduce my pores like JayeKaye as said is has

I've been trialling this product, and I think it's really doing something. My skin feels much softer, and I've noticed a significant reduction in the redness of my cheeks. I haven't seen any reduction in wrinkles, crows feet or sun spots yet, but I've only been at it for a few weeks.

What a valuable post!!
I was waiting for such valuable information. I also use natural products as other type of product does not suit my skin type. Pimples burst out if I use artificial products. Thanks a lot for such Information.....
