Glosscars Review

This would have to be the perfect spring perfume. I'm really loving green perfumes, and this is one of the best I've smelt in quite some time. This perfume has an aquatic vibe, yet it's not aquatic. What I smell is 100% pure, fragrant, freshly cut violet leaves. It is meant to be stronger than Balenciaga's original Paris, however it's not actually that strong, it just has a different language. It does have all the signature elements but, however it is saying something slightly different than with Balenciaga Paris, which was so much about the violets.

The soft powderiness of this fragrance is perfectly balanced with the vibrant green leaves. What I love about L'Essence is that it gives the illusion of a citrus top-note, but I highly doubt there is any citrus in this perfume at all. It's a truly unique and remarkable fragrance which does stand on it's own and generate a whole new following. L'Essence maintains the originals sheer, close-to-the-skin feel, but intensifies the green notes in the early stages and the drier more woodier notes later on.

The floral aspect of the original is all but non existent and the powdery finish is lighter more serene than the original. I would describe this fragrance as violet, woody, slightly powdery, aquatic, charming and green all all at the same time. Just a gorgeous, glamorous fragrance. I would have to disagree with this being a masculine fragrance, as it's just too elegant, tantalising and private to be classed anything but, however it is a fragrance that has to be loved to be appreciated, kind of like a good wine.

The fragrance itself comes in the same bell shape bottle as the original Balenciaga Paris, however it's a pale blueish green colour with a silvery grey top. The more I wear this fragrance the more I love it's subtle beauty, the creamy powdery violet leaves and the fresh elegant beauty that this perfume delivers is truly beautiful and unique. I can recommend this to anyone wanting a change from the main stream perfumes on the market today and hope on board for what will be a truly remarkable ride.
