lovely, but agree there's no vanilla
I picked this up in the UK so I love it because it reminds me of my travels. I only have to use a small amount, which is great because it is an expensive product. I do like the scent, although I expected a lot more of a vanilla hit.

More Anise than Vanilla
It seems to be much cheaper to get Jo Malone from the UK with the current exchange rate. I got my mom to buy this for me in London and was so happy that I only had to spend the equivalent of $53 on it. I get more anise than vanilla with this fragrance. It's not a sweet sugary vanilla like so many others, it's almost more of an antique rosewood shop-like vanilla. Slightly dry, with a bit of licorice and a whole lot of anise!
When you want to wear something different!

Complex vanilla floral scent
The product description for this cologne sounded amazing.
Most people probably expected this to be more of a foodie scent but what you get is a complex soft oritental floral with bursts of sweet vanilla, white flowers and the spiciness of cloves.
When I wear this it makes me feel extremely feminine, it dries down to a soft powdery spice scent sweetened with touches of vanilla.

This is a lovely fragrance, but if you are a vanilla fan, this wont satisfy your appetite. I am a huge Jo Malone fan/collector, and this would be the only one i dont absolutely love. It is nice, but i think i was expecting more vanilla scents, and on this it doesnt deliver. That being said if you didnt know what it was supposed to be im sure you would love it.

Where is the vanilla?
I'm not an expert, but I've been into perfumes long enough to have a pretty decent nose for notes, particularly common ones like vanilla. I could not pick either the vanilla or the anise in this fragrance. It just smelled like any one of a hundred standard, pleasant but unremarkable perfumes. I love vanilla, so I was quite disappointed by this one.
