As pure as your little poppet

I could watch my four-year-old daughter play all day – except she always convinces me to play her wicked stepmother or owner (she’s Lady, from Lady and the Tramp, of course!).

Child’s play is so pure and free of inhibitions. There’s something so special about being privy to the places their imagination takes them – and even better is joining them on the ride, if you have the time (if you can persuade yourself that the washing, the cleaning and the cooking can wait).

Like most little girls, mine is inquisitive about make-up and is often heard asking “Mum, what’s that you’re putting on your face?” To which I reply “Something to make me look pretty,” – and then quickly add “but you don’t need it because you’re beautiful just as you are.”

It’s this reluctance to allow my precious poppet to put make-up on that led me to discover PurePoppet. Made with pure and safe ingredients, PurePoppet children’s make-up can help your littlies transform themselves into their favourite make believe character.

Mix it with a little water and you have a face paint that’s free from nasties – and perfect for creating a myriad of fun characters, animals or insects – like a beautiful butterfly (as you can see from the pic of my little poppet!).

PurePoppet Natural Play Makeup can be purchased online at www.purepoppet.com.au.

You're little poppet is adorable Leanne :) My daughter is obsessed with princesses, Barbie, butterflies, love hearts, fairies, she is a real girly girl. She just saw this pic and said mummy can I paint my face like that? :)

My boys especially my 5yr old goes through all my creams and makeup and I find I have hardly anything left when I goes to use them, even my perfume.
I thought girls were the curious one when it comes to makeup!
Nothings sacred!

Gret to see you're still around Leanne - your little girl is pretty as a picture, and so like you. I have no children of my own, but my great nieces love to dress up as fairy princesses - nothing new there I guess, and they look beautiful with their pretty pnk dresses, tiaras and magic wands. I've been giving them lipglosses for a couple of years now, but I'm much happier knowing there is a specific range that's safe for our precious ones ♥

I love that your daughter knows what Lady and the Tramp is, most kids these days aren't familiar with the Disney classics that I grew up with!

Omgosh Leanne - My girls would have a party with this Purepoppet stuff! How cute is your gorgeous little 'butterfly'!

My youngest loves to be the 'teacher' so she gets a chance to tell the older two (and me!). All my girls got together recently and took lots of photos of themselves pretending they were doing a Peter Alexander shoot! They were all with bright pink lippy on and lots of pink clothing. They looked cute in their copy-cat PA poses. If you've ever flicked through a PA brochure you'll understand what the photos ended up looking like!

I don't have children, but would imagine a fairy/princess which I am sure most girls love!

I'm so glad to hear about Purepoppet-It really irks me when I see all that really cheap nasty stuff that looks so pretty and inticing that they make for kids and sell in department stores.

What a gorgeous little girl Leanne, unfortunately I dont have children so I only know that my neices and nephews used to love playing dress ups, and one in particular always got into her mothers lipsticks (to her mothers horror, lol). They are all too old now to dress up.

When my 16 yo daughter was little she loved having her face painted like a tiger, she loved dressing up as a tiger as well. From 3 yo until about 8 yo her choice of dress up was a tiger.
Now being 16 yo she loves dressing up with my make-up, shoes and hair accessories. I will go to use or wear some things and they have miraculously disappeared. On asking my 16 yo she simply states, "Oh they look good on me or this colour eyeshadow or nailpolish suits me".
Thankfully the next in line is my 12 yo son, he used to love dressing up as a pirate or someone out of Star Wars.

My nephews love any superhero, whilst with the nieces it's all about being glamorous with make up, heels and any dress they can find.

My daughter is actually a real tomboy and usually chooses things like Spiderman ... or Superheroes! BUT in saying that ... she's always tugging at my clothes when I'm in front of the vanity applying lippy ... I usually pretend to put makeup on her by just sweeping my clean brushes over her face, or drawing on her eyebrows with a pencil that still has the lid on it! lol. It's the cutest when she's done and she steps away and looks in the mirror with giggles and says "MUM ... I'm GORGEOUS!" hahaha. Love it ... LOVE HER! ♥

Aw, lovely to see you still around, Leanne, and your little poppet is too cute for words! I can see how she would be Liv's favourite, easy!

It's great to see products that are safe for kids..I don't have any myself yet, but I like knowing what I can buy my nieces/nephews that are safe for their skin!

PS- I love your explanation, ''it's to make me pretty, but you don't need it''. I'd be deathly afraid I 'd get 'but neither do you, mummy' back!

Thanks for all your comment everyone, PurePoppet is such a great idea and product. It's the mastermind of a mum so it figures! Think I might need to spend a bit more time practicing my butterflies though!
