6 make-up looks that don’t require eyeliner

Eyeliner is one of the trickiest make-up products to apply. Even if you know all the hacks to get the perfect wing, it can still go from precise to panda with a single slip of the wrist.

But don’t get us wrong! We love eyeliner and will forever be grateful to Cleopatra for leading the way. HOWEVER, make-up can look stunning without it. So if you’re looking to speed up your prep time, or are fed up with trying to line like a legend, here are six looks that definitely don’t need eyeliner to look good.

RELATED: Everything you need to know about tightlining

Glitter & gold

Ideal for: Those with sparse lashes and a warm complexion.

Pull it off: Start with a beige base all over your lid and then use a dark bronze shadow for your crease and to line underneath the outer corner of your eye. Layer over the inner half of your lid with a glittery gold eyeshadow and finish by wriggling your mascara wand back and forth at the base of your top and bottom lashes for definition.

Sky-high lashes

Ideal for: Those who still want their eyes to be the centre of attention.

Pull it off: Apply a black adhesive like Ardell LashGrip Adhesive in Dark to your lashes for extra definition along the lash line. Or if you’re lucky enough to have naturally long lashes, curl them using a quality lash curler like Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and use a credit card to prevent any transfer onto your eyelids as you coat your lashes thickly with mascara.

Coloured mascara

Ideal for: Light lashes and adventurous personalities.

Pull it off: After curling the lashes, coat them in a white lash primer like Lancôme Cils Booster XL Mascara and then apply your coloured mascara. The primer will help the colour coat appear more pigmented and your lashes fuller and longer. Keep the rest of your make-up fairly neutral and conceal around the eyes to help your coloured lashes stand out even more.

Smoke & mirrors

Ideal for: Those with round eyes who tend to shy away from heavy eye make-up.

Pull it off: Use an angled eye brush and dark grey shadow to softly line from along both the top and bottom lash line. If you need to make it a bit more pigmented, try wetting the brush. Then using a softer, fluffier eye brush, sweep a slightly softer grey shadow (or just be super light with the one you already used) and blend it across the rest of your lid, stopping at the eye crease. Finish with mascara.

Monolid magic

Ideal for: In case the title didn’t give it away, this is a great look for those with mono or hooded eyelids who have little space to work with eyeshadow.

Pull it off: Make sure the shadow shade you use underneath the eye has more of a brown undertone than a red, to avoid it settling into a pink-eye look. A shimmer finish is also essential, so it looks glowing and not dirty. For the inner corner, try using a highlighter with either gold undertones (for warm complexions) or pink undertones (for cool complexions).

Bare & bold

Ideal for: Ageing eyes and those who love a bold lip.

Pull it off: Use an eye mask (like Timeless Truth Rejuvenating Bio Cellulose Eye Mask) the night before to reduce puffiness and brighten the eye area. Then on the day, apply a sheer (almost invisible) shimmer shadow all over the eyelid before applying your mascara. For the lip, pick one that’s rich in colour and hydration, to keep your pout looking punchy and smooth.

  1. Many a time, the natural eye looks do deliver the untold words. To some extent maintaining an eye beauty is in our hand; therefore, one should choose the eye products carefully. The harsh chemical-based cosmetic product can damage our skin or eye beauty badly. Select an FDA approved or renowned herbal product to keep the side effects at bay. Careprost lash serum is one such product that carries all the best things in a pack. It promotes eyelash length, thickness, and density naturally.
