Is this the lash curler of the future?
I curl my lashes everyday, and I’ve personally never had trouble with my ever-reliable Manicare Eyelash Curler. But if you have particularly small eyes or wonky lashes, this could be the curler for you!
So how exactly is the tool made to fit? Well, it’s all courtesy of some very fancy technology, as well as 3D printing.
In a nutshell, all you have to do is download the Voir app and take a series of pictures of your face. The pictures are then processed to create a 3D model of your face and eye shape. Finally, the custom components are made according to those measurements.
This means the curling mechanism aligns precisely at the roots of your lashes. In theory, it’ll make it a lot easier to curl those hard-to-reach sections in the outer corners of the eyes.
As if the custom-fit design wasn’t fancy enough, the new tool’s body is made of strong and shiny polycarbonate plastic (just like an iPhone 5) with custom-shaped parts of stainless steel. It really does look like the eyelash curler of the future:
Right now, inventor Adele Bakhtiarova is still in the Kickstarter stage of her project, with about $27,000 still to go to get it off the ground. Once it does, you’ll be able to get your very own unique curler for $25. In the meantime, my trusty Manicare curler or the cult buy, Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, should sort you out!
