How-to: perfect winged liner

If, like me, you’ve been wanting to know how to take your day make-up that little bit further, then you’ll be thrilled to know that all it takes is some jet black liner done right.
A sharp line across the top of your eyelids takes your look from day to night in a flash, and a when you add a wing on either side, you’re on the fast track to a seriously fabulous party look.
Not sure how to achieve perfect winged liner? I got a hold of the new Maybelline New York Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner (which has a point measuring just 0.05mm for super accurate application) to show you how it can be done in just three steps…
What beauty look are you really, really good?

After many years of practice, I think drawing my eyebrows on is my forte - there's always room for improvement though. My eyeliner application sucks (it's always too thick), so I'm mad keen to get my mits on this little baby :-)

Thanks for the video and the great tips. I have been using Loreal Superliner for years and years and so far my favourite, but very keen on trying this one out.

I can't say I am very good with applying makeup but I know what works best for me. I like a natural dewy finish with a pretty pink blush. I'm really bad at applying eyeshadow and eyeliner so I don't wear it that often.

Didn't load for me either :( But I have to say that I am, ironically, good at applying gel eyeliner freehand, yet fairly unskilled with eyeshadow. Which sucks...

As usual, great demo Liv. I must say you make it look so easy...I always have problems getting the eye liner looking the same on both eyes.

I'm proud to say I am a master at applying liquid eyeliner! I've had years of practice so I'm very confident in achieving many looks with eyeliner. I'm going to get my little paws on the eyeliner featured in this video! I've seen a video of a Maybelline makeup artist using this liner to create gorgeous patterns on the side of the eye, so I'm very excited to get experimenting!

I'm best at eye makeup, complete with liquid liner. But I prefer using a fine brush rather than a felt tip so I can get it on without tugging at my lids and do it in one stroke (years of practice).

Following the instructions given in this video won't give you the look portrayed just before the video begins.
The picture we see moves upwards, thickens as it moves outwards and upwards, and the wing doesn't start from extreme outer corner of the eye - the actual line, before it's winged doesn't go that far either. The video intructs us to go the outer corner of the eye, there's no mention of thickening of the line as it moves outwards and slightly upwards, as one creates the winged part.
I've had this done to me professionally, and certain pieces are left out, while other unecessary bits are put in. The application depends on the shape of the indivual's eye.
