Guyliner: what’s the go?

Okay, so I realise not every bloke is running out to the nearest Maybelline NY counter to snatch up the latest Onyx Kohl, but surely you’ll agree that men are steadily progressing with beauty products – which is kinda weird.

You can forgive lads like Pete Wentz and Daniel Johns for daring to wear a darkened inner rim  – hey, it’s okay, it’s a rocker thing. However, as more and more men step out sporting foundation, a slick of lippy or a dab of blush, I can’t help but wonder – how far will it go?

It’s more than a little obvious that teen heartthrob Zac Efron is an avid fan of a faux glow (Fake Bake MAN Tri-Kit is perfect, in case you were wondering boys), but that’s okay, we love him anyway.

My ex-boyfriend was a huge fan of deep pore cleansers and although I don’t think I’d ever catch him puckering up with my Australis Gloss, he definitely wasn’t afraid of a little primping and preening. Somehow Zac Efron is easier to love – fake tan and all.

I've dated a few guys who wore eyeliner and I have to say, it gets a bit strange when your boyfriend is wearing more makeup than you are! I'm a bit undecided about this one though - sometimes I think it's a little creepy, but then other times - each to his or her own, you know?

I'll tell you what i think.
Eyeliner on men should only be seen at the Mardi Gras or Arc on Oxford Street!
Gay men wearing eyeliner doesnt make any one batter an eyelid anymore!
Whereas Pete Wentz makes it look like it's halloween all year round!
Although, i kinda don't hate it ?
xx

Nope, nopey nope, no, nada, no way, no how, no, nah, nopey nope.

This guy looks unwell! It reminds me of that old rocker guy (I think his name was John and used to be on the Aussie show "Hey Dad") who always had black bags and looked very awful. I would say to this guy, "Get some sleep dude!".

A no from me I'm afraid. I wear the make-up in the house, not my husband.

Blimey, I would have thought this question was a no brainer - no thanks. I don't need to be sharing my makeup with my partner - unless I was gay, which I'm not - not that there's anything wrong with that!

What an absolutely horrendous photo! I think men should take care of their skin, sunscreen and moisturiser etc, but leave the make-up alone!

The only times guys should wear make up is if they have to appear in front of the camera for a reason. (Acting, news, music video) or a costume party. Other than that, stay away from the make-up!

I think its very scary to think the world we live in today features MEN preening and primping like females. I think it's great to introduce a little cleanser and moistuiser into the routine, but makeup and fake tan is well beyond the limit. There is an awful trend out there where men are morphing more and more into females. You know the ones im talking about.... they wear skinny jeans and have scrawny little legs, the long fringle flicked to one side, long hair..... how are we expected to this of this as attractive? What happened to the 'blokey bloke'? The one who can change your tire and will kill a spider for you??? They have dissappeared. And it's a BIG worry!!

Don't mind a little eyeliner on a guy but foundation, blush, lippy too. It looks terrible.

I say if they want to wear make-up, its their right. We get to cover up our blemishes with concealer, yet boys dont get that luxury. Just because they want to have more even complexions, doesn't mean they are less manly.

I don't mind it on some boys. I think if they're a rockstar then it's ok but not on every ordinary bloke.

For me its a bit of a hard subject. I have seen men wear makeup (and by makeup some concealer under their eyes and a smidge of mineral foundation) and they look good. You can't even tell they're wearing it.
I don't really think liquid makeup, lipstick and eyeliner should be worn (Pete Wenz looks stupid!) but the occasional mineral, done well can be ok.
Why should we be the only ones who get to have an even complexion through good makeup?

as the line between male and female blur, I am sad to report that I no longer know what is right and wrong of a opinion to have anymore....
that said, my boyfriend loves checking my skincare bag for all the goodies, although sometimes putting up a fuss about how it hasnt got the word "homme" on them for him to use. I m watching him very closely for that one final day he raid my make up bag. I am going to take him shopping then. lol.

I like masculine guys.
I think it'd be weird to have my fiancee wearing makeup, i don't know if i could tolerate it.
I'd feel kind of put out if he did.

men and eyeliner don't go together! i don't know whether it's their lack of technique but they always end up looking like pandas, i wouldn't want my bf to go anywhere near make up
