Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara - Cult Product
Both the straight and curved brush versions are HG material - they're effects are similar but for me the curved brush works better. This is the best ever mascara, a true cult product and the best ever kept secret. Trust me, this is unbeatable.
The trick to getting - and you will with this mascara - defined, separated, false effect, full, thick, dramatic lashes is to keep applying until you get your desired effect. Buildable and non-clumping, you can fix mistakes and go bolder easily. Does not smudge or flake. Can be touched up easy later on in the day.

Super Black!
I was really, really impressed with the rich colour and lash definition of this mascara - super, super dark glossy black and the brush really got to each lash individually. Two quick, light coats give an amazing dramtaic look, which is important to me as I'd rather have 5 more minutes to sleep in in the morning than spend that time on my make-up!
It's really easy to remove - even with just make-up wipes. I usually wear tubing or waterproof mascara, which can take a bit of effort to get off, so my evening cleansing routine is a bit gentler and quicker when I wear the Max Factor.
The only (very slight!) complaint I have is that by lunchtime, there's some transfer to under my eyes, even though I don't put the mascara on my lower lashes. As long as I remember to check in the bathroom mirror during the work day and fix with a quick wipe of a tissue, I can accept that tradeoff for the colour payoff!
I wouldn't recommend wearing this if you're expecting to get sweaty or be out in the rain (it will definitely run!) but overall a great mascara for an air-conditioned office or restaurant.

2000 Calorie Mascara
Because I have sensitive eyes which water and itch easily, I do not usually wear mascara to work by day, instead opting to wear it at night time when I go out somewhere special. None-the-less I was excited to try Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Mascara. I am happy to announce that 2000 Calorie Mascara has completely changed my attitude toward Max Factor mascaras because a few years ago I purchased their Masterpiece MAX mascara and was not happy with the result, but this formula is effective and truly does what it promises to. This fabulous formula is designed to volumise and enhance lashes by up to 300% and from my first application, 2000 Calorie did just that. After a single coat, my lashes were out of this world: thick, separated, noticeable, long and clump-free. The brush head is a little thicker than a brush on a standard mascara wand but it is still easy to manoeuvre around the top and bottom lashes (including the small lashes on the inner and outer corners). For a beautiful natural look, I would advise applying just the one coat because it was more than sufficient, but for an extra enhanced look then two coats is a must! While the regular formula is not waterproof or smudge-proof, I found that once this dries, it sets beautifully and lasts all day without smudging or marking the skin. asmentioned ealier, I do experience sensitive eyes which itch and water often but luckily 2000 Calorie mascara did not upset or affect them in any way. When using a good eye makeup remover, the formula comes off lashes in seconds, without pulling the skin or leaving residue. 2000 Calorie mascara is enriched with patented liquid crystals and a wax-in-water emulsion to ensure the formula stays thick. While this is available in Black, Black-Brown and waterproof formulas, I would love to see this released in brown, plum and navy blue colours as well to complete the collection. I am super impressed by 2000 Calorie and will certainly consider purchasing this in the future.

Dramatic ... No need for false lashes if you have got Maxfactor 2000 calorie mascara
This mascara is great value. Just needed One coat to instantly lengthen and volumise my lashes. I have naturally long lashes but this mascara added extra drama to my lashes .
It does not clump and does not flake. The formula is a dry formula therefore does not weigh down my lashes.
It is longlasting and lasted the whole day without flaking. I love the fact that is buildabale as in you can coat two to three coats for a more dramatic night time party wear but just one coat for a daytime look.
I also find the black mascara is really pigmented as in its the blackest black mascara I have ever used . The pigment really defines your lashes and gives oomph to even the lightest/faint lashes.
I have straight lashes therefore I sometimes curl them using a lash curler I found this mascara really hold my curls and does not weigh down my lashes.
I can positively say that it gave me a fasle lash effect on my long lashes and i was quite happy with that as I am rather clumsy and It takes me ages to wear false lashes . This mascara saves me heaps of time as I can get false lash effect without the need to spend around 20 minutes trying to apply false lashes.
The only downside I found to this mascara is that the brush for me was rather big therefore I really had to be cautious when applying the mascara inorder to avoid smudging mascara on my eyelids and ruining my eyeshadow. I give this mascara 4 stars

Not exactly 2000 calories for my lashes
It's an ok mascara that gives a little volume and length without clumping the lashes; however, over the last 6years of testing numerous beauty products, I have found and tried others that do a much better job than this. I

Not bad
When I first used this I wasn't impressed - but I have changed my mind. If your lashes are poker straight and not that visible like mine are, you will get the best results by curling lashes well, and then applying the mascara in quick, continuous strokes.
Volume and length will be built up nicely (but don't expect anything miraculous) as long as you do this - if you apply one coat and then wait before adding another, the results aren't as good.
It's a decent mascara overall, but I wouldn't purchase again as I'm still on the search for an amazing mascara rather than a decent one.

My favourite
This is my favourite mascara ever. I keep buying and trying the new ones that come on the market, but I always end up coming back to this one because its so lovely and dependable. It always works and always looks good. I will probably keep buying new mascaras, but it would have to be something pretty special for me to move on from this little gem.

Great value for money!
I've used this mascara for years now, and I love it! You can achieve a nice, natural look with one layer, but as soon as you double up you're ready for a saturday night. It feels light and is easy to remove.
I use the brown colour which is great for people with fair skin and hair.
I purchased the curved wand once, and I dont think it did as good of a job.

Great cheap mascara
This mascara is great value for money. With one coat it instantly lengthens and adds volume to my lashes. I also find that it doesn't weigh down my lashes and they are able to hold a decent curl.
With another coat or two, it doesn't clump and adds more volume and oomph.
It separated my lashes perfectly, I love the brush. The bristles are very close together perfect for defining each individual lash and it tapers off at the end and it is so easy to get the inner lashes and bottom ones!!
It doesn't flake or smudge, it lasts all day! The formula itself is not too runny or gluggy, and the right amount is deposited on the brush.
My advice would be to use one coat for everyday, but for a dramatic party look you can easily do 2 or 3 coats!
This is my new favourite mascara. For the price it is amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again!!

better for those with longer eyelashes
This volumises beautifully no doubt, but i find that ti works better on people with longer eyelashes. My eyelashes are short but curled, and all this does is volumise with a hint of length. Not a disappojnting mascara. I would buy it again if it lengthened more

Good mascara
This is a great quality everyday mascara that has a great formula which doesn't flake. It does great job defining my lashes but I didn't get any noticeable volume from it. It is still a great product though and i would buy it again

not a fan
There is a lot of hype around this product and being a mascara lover I had to try it out. And I was disappointed. It looks ok at first - gives my lashes just a bit more volume, length and it does good job with separating them. But it doesn't hold the curl and flakes at the end of the day. Unfortunately those are the most important things I look for. My lashes are naturally dense and long so most of the mascaras will look similar. Long lasting factor is what really matter. It's not very expensive, but there are better drugstore mascaras out there. I way prefer Max Factor's Masterpiece Max and I won't be repurchasing this one.

Been using this for years
I already have long lashes so don't need lengthening. This is the best mascara to plump up lashes by far. The only thing that compares is DiorShow but at $40 a tube I can't justify it.

i purchased it thinking it would just be like an ordinary mascara, and only got it as i needed some. let me say that it shocked me heaps! WOW it made my lashes sexy and lengthy! almost like i was wearing face lashes! so beautiful!

Best cheapie mascara ever
This is my favourite cheapie mascara. It gives great volume and separation and is very lengthening. I actually think it's one of those mascaras which get better as the tube gets 'older' and more dry. One or two coats is great for an everyday look but you can also layer it on the tips for more 'oomph'. I've gone through plenty of cheap mascaras and this one is still my favourite!

good for everyday glamour
This mascara didnt deliver the dramatic volume and length i was expecting. It did give a bit of extra volume which is suitable for an everyday look.
If you put on too many coat it does tend to clump, but it leaves your lashes still feeling soft and not brittle or flakey.

Excellent mascara
This goes on easily and even after one coat lashes look long and thick. This mascara goes on smooth, no clumps, no spotting, and it doesn't flake after hours of wear. It stays on and looks just the same as the moment you applied it.The applicator took me a little while to get used to because it's so big in diameter, but it made for a great application.

my aunty bought this on her shopping spree yesterday. i tried some, i personally think it really does add length and volume ti my lashes. it clumps a tad, but i guess you just have to use your mascara brush to declump it. I never use this brand so i thik ill make my first maxfactor purchasee tommorrow!

Carnt live without it
I honestly love this mascara, ive been using it for a VERY long time and yes I tried others but ALWAYS go back Calorie 2000, so now I dont bother experimenting with any others, because in my opion the 2000 Calorie is the best Hands down, and come on who can complain about the price,

Great for everyday volume
I love the max factor 2000 calorie mascara but will only use it for everyday volume. I find that the formula tends to go clumpy very quickly, which seems to be confirmed by all the other reviews. I find that it looks great on curled lashes, but I would not use it when I am going for a more dramatic evening look.

rediscovered an old favourite
I used to use this mascara years ago and loved the dramatic fanned effect it gave me. I've since been trying a few different ones including LashBlast for a few years but decided to come back to this when it was on sale.. and OMG I remember why I loved it so much! I love the curved brush, it is volumising but not clumpy, and gives a nice matte black finish to the lashes. a tip is to wipe off the tip on a tissue before applying because it tends to get a little goopy.

My Staple Mascara
This mascara is very versatile – for everyday use one or two coats will suffice for that natural lengthened look, adding more coats will increase the volume and is good for night time looks. I much prefer the curved wand as I find it helps with coating the inner/outer corners of my lashes. The formula is a good consistency and it doesn’t dry out quickly. I find I always keep coming back to this mascara even after I’ve tried new ones!

One of the best mascaras i have ever tried!
Max factor's range of mascaras are hands down the best ones i have ever tried. This mascara is very light, not clumpy unless you use a lot of it and adds great length to my lashes. I was however expecting more volume.

Good for everyday use
It clumps a little bit, but not so much that it becomes irritatingly obvious or uncomfortable. This mascara is great for everyday use because it thickens lashes, it's easy to apply and doesn't smudge even hours after application :) (it flakes a little bit, but it's not noticeable unless you take a mirror and examine your eyes up close)

Everything I was looking for
I have this in black brown with the straight brush. It truly does "fatten" lashes making it look like you have more lashes naturally without looking over the top like most volumizing mascaras do. The black brown colour is perfect too, more natural looking. What's also amazing about this mascara is that it is more like a tint, with absolutely no clumpiness or hardening/stickiness of lashes. Well done Max Factor, this is a HG mascara.

great mascara
i really enjoy using this mascara, it gives great volume and a bit of length to my lashes. it actually is one of the only mascara that also helps hold a curl a little better which is a big plus for me.

Love/Hate Relationship
Love - extreme thick lashes. Hate - Clump clump clump (and no that's not the sound of me stomping away.) I keep going back to this mascara because of lash thickness but continually have to comb the clumps out of my lashes after application - really dissappointing.

Good not great
I was expecting great things from this mascara mainly because of the reviews on here but also the price, it is pricey.
I applied it and found it was a little clumpy and it didnt cover all of my lashes .. the ends were still blonde . it does do a good job of thickening tho but I ended up using another mascara to finish the job.

clumpy and flaky
The formula made my lashes really thick but the brush makes the mascara clumpy and flaky which got worse as it gets older. I usually throw out mascaras after 3-4 months, but I had to throw this one out after a month. I tried using another brush with the formula and it made applying it better, so I was sure the brush was the problem not the formula itself, but the hassle of using a different brush isn't worth making me buy this again.

i have only just found this mascara, after it was recommended to me by my hair dresser. I couldn't imagine somthing more beautiful to wear. It is so easy to apply and remove at the end of the day. Personally I love the curved brush.

Wasn't a fan of this mascara when i FIRST used it but once i got the hang of it got great results...being asian it's essential i use something that thickens my lashes in the end i had girls asking me what brand mascara i was using and they were surprised as they were clearly expecting me to say something grand like chanel. Great product!

Sexy lashes
This is like the greatest mascara of all time. Although there are other favorites in my make up case, i still continue to buy this one as well. I love how the curved brush pushes up the lashes and how incredibly long, think and luscious they look. The perfect look for dramatic eyes.

Great volume
it is one of my favourite mascara. it gets my lash good volume and a bit of length. it is easy to apply without clumping and long-lasting. great value and i definitely will buy it again!!!

very volumizing
i brought it from priceline after a 50% discount (WOW!!)
i brought the curve brush one and it works great!!
it's very volumizing,
it double the volumn of my lashes and make my lashes longer.
but it begins to clump after i apply 2-3 layers on my lashes.
i really like it but i will not buy it again...
never stick on one product for too long haha

Family secret
My mum has been buying this for years!, I love it now too, it makes my lashes super fat without clumping and ultra long :) it doesnt smudge easily and the brush creates a really nice fan effect :) even the boys notice this one. my friend asked me if i was wearing false lashes!

Curved brush
I bought this with the curved brush and gives me thick, dramatic lashes! One downside is that it does have the tendency to get clumpy but I find that if I drag it against the tube whilst pulling the wand out, it's not too bad.

lovely lashes
This one makes my lashes fatter, no clumps, separates the lashes to give a natural and sexy look. Has a simple brush with no fancy spines but works just fine. It doesn't smudge easily. It is not waterproof, which makes it easy to wash off. Great price for such a good product.

Too dry
The mascara was too dry, didnt build up volume. If you're opting for a natural look, this mascara is the way to go as it adds a bit of colour and separationg but not heavy look

Great mascara
This was the first mascara I've ever tried, and it's been a favourite of mine ever since then. I especially like the brown/black variety. It defines and curls lashes, but doesn't look too heavy or clumpy.

Very Nice
You can't go wrong with this old favourite. Like the name suggests, it makes your lashes fat. I own this in the curved and it does the job nicely, holding the curl throughout the day. This doesn't really clump either which is a bonus for a volumising mascara. Definitely worth trying.

great for contact lens wearers

fantastic product
this is the mascara I buy when i'm a little skint.. for the price of around $20 you get yourself the equivalent quality of a lot more expensive products.
builds thickness and volume quickly and easily, i especially like the curved brush to increase curl.

Wowzers!!!
My god I can't believe I didn't try this sooner, I'm now tempted to ditch my absolute fave Loreal Lash Architect - Calorie 2000 is great what I love about it the most is that it doesn't budge or smudge!!! I wore it for 14 hours yesterday and it was awesome!!! Me likey!!! : )

a bit too clumpy
i found this mascara made my lashes a bit too clumpy. they all stuck together with lumps of mascara visible as well. it might work better on someone with longer lashes? at any rate, this mascara is not for me!

2000 calorie mascara, my saviour
I spent some gloomy days when this mascara disappeared off shelves a few years ago....Then they brought it back and I have been eternally happy once again. This is my ULTIMATE favourite mascara, i can't live without it!!! Just so you know, one tube only lasts me bout 2 months maximum! Makes my eyes just POP! Love it! Love it! Love it!

Amazing
I looove this product! I bought it because a friend told me it was the best, so of course I went out and tried it! That night, I got so many compliments on how good I was looking, so every time I go out, I put on my Max Factor Masterpiece MAX and I am ready for anything.
